Awesome video to share this is exactly how my dad taught me to snell a hook. Obviously it's for leaders and we've used this same technique for striper fishing on 25lb test and I can verify it is strong enough and has never failed. So much easier than some of the other snell knots and the concerns about its strength is unwarranted in my experiences..

Exactly the way I do it all the time !....did u know that with the straight eye the hook up ratio is even better ?.. even with other styles of hooks the hook up percentage is better..... I’ve found that the first line through the eye also covers the gap ( if there is any) where the end of the wire( eye) meets the shank to prevent it from cutting... yes it may not look right with the hook upturned towards the leader but I’ve found that it doesn’t matter to the fish ..... only to our eyes !...I go with hook up ratios than what may look wrong....also , yes u use this knot with other end open but I’ve tied the same knot with the other end being tied off to a swivel ( etc.) not as easy but very doable!.... my range with this knot goes from 8 lbs to 200 lbs leaders.... some ( small) monos stretch a lot so I advise to wrap 9 times and wrap 3-4 times back over initial wrap before going back through eye...😎... alohas 👍🏼
OK, simple & easy, looking for better/easier ways to retie while fishing.. this version is good if making leaders, but you can't always pass the standing line, line to reel, back through the eye of the hook.

Same easy snell or knotless not i use. So does luke from cats and carp and he has caught 60lb plus and it holds for big fish and is easy and quick. I don't know why people have to make a big deal on the name of it. Who cares it works. Great video man. Happy fishing

Except that is NOT a snell knot. It is called "knotless knot" and is widely used in Europe for carp fishing.

Every time i try this on any video, it doesnt stay synched.... please help, when no tight pull it doesnt stay tight if that makes sense.... yes i folllowed each step

That was my first thought also when I watched the video; It is a knotless knot, not a snell knot.
Yep, used in Europe quite a bit to tie carp leaders.
While there's more than one way to tie a true Snell knot, none of them actually contain any knot - they are all in fact knotless, by its very nature. So those guys using the 'uni-knot' technique to create an actual knot on the shank are the ones not making a true Snell knot. Nothing wrong with this method. I personally had been doing it with a slight variation for over 20 years, which I only ever saw in this following video : ruclips.net/video/3xVwWPM1XmM/видео.html (note : starts at 04:00).

Come through the front of the eye twice with tag end making a loop, wrap that loop away from you around the shank then pull the tag end.
Same exact knot just even more simplified.

Yeah, looks simple but the end of the line where you re-loop through the eye/hook goes to the reel so how's that going to work?

You cannot snell directly to your fishing line. This method is for creating a leader that is then attached to the fishing line with a swivel or a loop knot.
Solved one problem and created another, now you have to connect with the main line. That's why commercial long liners use them. J hook up and catch fish.
How are you supposed to do this if you're only passing the end of the line on the pole?
That works GREAT when your leader is pre tied. If you break off at 3am and you are re tying just a hook with 40lb line or bigger. Better put that loop in it! TRUST ME...LOL

Yep, I use a No Knot snell for 2 lb. to 40 lb.. never lost a hook yet. so far.
Knotless knot....snell knot is with a spade end hook.

only works when you are not tying onto main line
You will loose fish that way my friend... It might hold a lot of the time but when you really need it to hold its gonna come apart, their is nothing holdin together with that tie up... If your happy that's all that matters but I wouldn't count on that knot when it comes to a huge fish.... Sorry, I have seen it fall apart before so I'm speaking from experience my friend. Don't hate me for sharing ,I just hate loosing fish !

Two days to the part about tying the actual knot.
The last knot is wrong if you use for the carbon leader ,there no real bind knot on the line, very easy loose when meet the big fish, just nylon or soft fish line could working on that way.

The information in this video 8s inaccurate although the knotless knot does catch fish. Telling viewers that they don't have to use other knots is wrong as well. Different knots are used for different applications. This video is nothing more than click bait.

I've been using this smell for 15years using 80 and 100lb power pro braid, and 30 and 40 mono. Only difference for me is I wrap 14 times.
Only works if you have two tag ends. Not realistic on the river
