and in 2 minutes you captured more of the halo feel than an entire season of the halo show that they paid a lot of money for.
even if you dont get paid by 343 to animate they should hire you as a director bc you really understand how chief should be portrayed

Nah. You’d have complained if 343 made this. It is great though. If you play halo, infinite, and you’re saying that, then you just hate 343 no matter what they do. we had some pretty sweet cut scenes in that and we had really great cut scenes for halo two anniversary and for halo wars two and the chief was awesome in halo infinite.
Awesome work. This is absolutely fantastic. Great use of atmospherics, cinematography and lighting. The animation was solid and the rendering was also well done. Great work.
I’ve watched this like 4 times now and cried every time 🥹 The potential that this shows for the missed opportunity of having a banished scarab in the Infinite campaign is insane 😭
Forget the Scarab dude. Imagine the potential the entire game had and these idiots butchered it.

Amazing work, honestly the Chief vs Atriox fight should’ve been extended and looked more like Chief fighting those brutes. It’s extremely easy to tell when something is made with love and passion, like the Bungie games. 15/10 this is the Chief that we knew and was on top back in 2007. People like you keep this weary fan base together and I cannot thank you enough for that.
This single video is literally better than the entire past three years of content we've had from the official developer, very very well done and excellently just Halo, love your work!!

This is just awesome. A chief that felt closer to the original than anything 343 has come up with.
Locke and Chief played out like old men having a slap fight. This blows that out of the water!
I’d say 343 have made a great John that fits with his established book character, at least by Infinite, but their actual handling of him fighting has felt lacklustre. If we could get this style of animation but with the books/343’s character we’d be eating good.
@@eternalcanadian699 I disagree. Master Chief in the books is saddened by the loss of his fellows and so many soldiers during the war. But he remains stoic and a force for humanity to rally around. 343 went so hard into the "Chief has PTSD" mode and wanted to portray him as an aging and worn out soldier so they could introduce their Spartan 4s.
Any impact they made with Cortana's death was negated by her just mysteriously reappearing in Halo 5 and then they kill her off in a cutscene in Halo Infinite.
They lose track of their story telling and discard all the plot points that come in the preceding game. They also had a huge hard on for portraying just Halsey as a mad scientist monster who needs to be put down. 343 only cares about a game that will bring them money, so they chase the latest trends and forfeit what made Halo fun to play.

I like how a single, very talented and dedicated fan managed to make something in less than 3 min that feels, sounds, and looks so much better and more faithful to Halo than the crap an entire studio with millions of dollars put out as a "tv show."
man every scene was incredible, the fighting was clean and good gore. this is a cinematic masterpiece, this make me happy 😌

The animation is so clean - Chief didn’t have to spend a single round of his own but was able to clean house. That skewer shot was nuts
My only criticism is that the sounds of him hitting the brutes weren’t meaty enough to be entirely satisfying
I lost count on the amount of references you managed to insert on here. And not only making it work but executing it so flawlessly. I’m looking forward to what else you work on in the future!
I wanted to include a few more but it gets to a point where it might take away from bits and pieces - but i got the main ones i planned in there (starry night / bet ya can't stick it moment) :)

It isn't better than 343 lol, this is a very cool animation don't get me wrong but it is still nowhere near as good as an infinite live action cutscene. Parts of it feel very robotic, but again it's very cool especially if (and I assume he is) doing it by himself.
Extraordinary work! So symbolic Chief picking up the helmet after a fall again. Also, catching the brute on the throat at 1:23 even though he's bigger and tougher, what a scene! Bravo!

BRO I JUST CAN'T EVEN. It's sooo good. One day, I hope to see a full feature film produced by you - whether it's Halo or not. You're so talented and as an artist (although practicing in different field), your passion and persistence is truly inspiring.
The months of waiting on the fans part, your hard work, it's all culminated in this: a piece of fan-art bursting with passion. The music was wonderful, the audio, dialogue. The action had some unexpected but appreciated gore that's been missing for a while. This was a wonderful watch and something I'll see myself coming back to every once in a while. This nails the Halo feel. Infinite's vibes should've been closer to this and that is a massive compliment. Congrats on all your hard work. I hope this piece spreads like wildfire

Holy fish sticks this was amazing, love seeing the banished scarab from wars 2, makes me feel great as a wars fan. Have you ever considered doing a wars themed animation? Seeing a fight scene with a bunch of enemies and friendlies would be so cool. Nonetheless, fantastic job as always

This is what Halo Infinite's campaign should have been.
Fantastic work! I love the use of the Halo 3 armor and the Halo 2 call back with the plasma grenade (You could even say the believe halo 3 trailer), also showing off chiefs strength which is underused a lot of the time. Keep up the great work! (Almost forgot to say even my favorite trailer Starry Night being referenced with chief looking up at 0:18 )

God, the callback to the Starry Night trailer was everything I wanted and the rest of the animation was more than I could have wanted. Fantastic work!
Ya know, people always say "Oh this is so cool it should totally be recognized by *insert developer*!" and don't put much heart into that sentence. This is not that. This is easily one of, if not the best Halo animation that has EVER existed, and SOMEONE in any of Microsoft's studios needs to recognize that this, is exactly what Halo fans want. I would go so far to say that they even compete and/or outrank Blur's animations.
This is absolutely brilliant work and I cannot WAIT to see what else you create over the years. You are phenomenal!

Awesome work! The animation and lighting were really well done! If theres something I could critique though, some of the camera work could follow Chief more rather than just a wide shot, or just add some more camera shake to heavy objects hitting the ground. Still amazing work!

What is the soundtrack?! That's some next level Halo music right there. Perfectly encapsulates the sound of the original trilogy, while somehow sounding even more bombastic and epic. And the animation is better than anything we got in Infinite tbh. Really incredible work. I think I prefer your brute designs over any of the mainline games as well...

Mmmm I’m not an expert and everyone is leaving their opinion and to not sound like part of the echo chamber I will say it. The animations look horrible to be honest, everything looks like it has no weight to it, from the objects that characters interact with to the over smoothing and awkward character limb/skeleton movements.
On the other hand the quality of the character models is crisp and the premise and story of the trailer is excellent.

@@HaloVFX sorry man I tried to be as objective as I could. I know you’ve worked on big Hollywood stuff.
But when you see an animation that looks worse than a SOLIDWORKS motion simulation it’s hard to wrap your head around people that clown world class animators that have studied years of complex character motion and physics simulations. Your animation work where it is filtered and cleaned through a QA team is great, this is not. Sorry 🤷♂️.

SEROUSLY WHY COULDNT INFINITE HAD BEEN LIKE THIS!? It had the humor and small quips from the og trilogy and has better action. An amazing animation, I hope 343 will go back to the og action like Halo 2

looks awesome but you can definitely improve the motion and weight of the animation. That brute chief jumping looked really floaty and weightless so it kinda pulled me out of the animation. Good work

Halo 2 Anniversary was made by 343. The cutscenes were similar graphics wide to this video, which is a testament to how amazing this video is, it's absolutely gorgeous, but don't discredit 343 from the beauty of Halo 2 Anniversary.

What a call back to Halo 3 Trailer in the beginning
You know how some fans make "lore accurate" Master Chief videos where Chief does goofy over the top stuff and isn't actually lore accurate? This video for once, actually feels lore accurate.
The mastchief picking up brutes is crazy. Love the animation and love to see where this goes

This is awesome, not only because of the animation, butt also te fact that you give the real damage to the brutes weapons, in games we used to forget that every weapon that the brutes use, is virtualy a barbarian/ mad max gun, butt in a bigger size, the grenades, the hammer, the spiker everyone of tem, are mortal kombat tipes of damge, absolutley amazing work
