Britta was always very underrated. Sure she is goofy and not nearly as knowlegeable as she thinks she is, but she truly cares about the study group and all the people around her. She truly is the best

Britta is unironically my dream girl. She is always honest and true with herself and others as well as having a very caring personality
when they introduce her as "the needlessly defiant" in the DnD episode - i have never related to a character MORE in my life lol
She's also extremely seldom destructive and is attracted to just the worst type of people

I know lots of people liked the cool but flawed Britta from season 1, but after that she became one of the most unique characters in TV history.

@@sergiorosales8658 I think they could have just really made her a better character by giving her more contradictions like being the worst at what she wants to be good at but inexplicably good at many other things she shouldn't be (using guns i.e. paintball, wedding planning, etc.)

Gillian Jacobs is such an incredible actress. I hate what they did with her character, because she really is the best.
It was her choice. She wanted her character to be goofier. She liked doing the bigger physical humor.
Yes she is, and she was amazing from the point they decided to make her character goofier. Before she was just a normal and typical white blonde woman character, nothing special. After she became Britta unique character and performance.

Chevy Chase blew the absolute perfect vehicle for this stage in his career in the Pierce Hawthorne character.
Prior to Community when was the last time he was actually funny?
Chevy Chase is iconically funny. He didn't need Community to prove it. His legacy as a comedian will likely be greater than all these others. And he was funny on Community. It doesn't matter that there were problems. It's unfortunate, but Chase's legacy didn't diminish. Watch any of Chase's movies and I guarantee some great laughs.

They're not saying chase was never funny, just that he hasnt done anything recently.
Community was a great show, so its a shame to see him finally land a great role after so much time, but then squander it.
He basically did the reverse of what Danny Devito did with Always Sunny.
Being able to proudly put Community on hia resume would have really cemented him as a truly enduring performer. He chose a path that kind of leaves a stain on that.
@@IRanOutOfPhrases Actually I think Community is good on his resume as an enduring performer. What's weird is why there would be a stain. Supposedly he could have stayed on the show, but his time there is definitely funny. I guess it's weird to me that all the hearsay and supposed bad blood colors the way people view the work he did do on Community. Do we like a movie less when we hear that supposedly the actor is hard to work with?
Devito is funny, true, but Always Sunny resorts to "total humiliation" funny. It's a crass humor. I admit it's funny but it doesn't make me think Devito is classy.
@@konroh2 Its not so much that we like the movie/show less. Community's diehard fans still love the show after all. So it's not that it impacts what happens in the show, but it impacts our views of him as an actor. He was in a smart, legitimately funny show, but he let his diva persona take over. It sucks to consider that. An yes, he could have stayed on the show, maybe even had a bigger part as a result. Maybe the show even goes on to last longer than the 6 years.
Again, comparing it to Always Sunny, I don't know how much longer that show goes if not for Devito fully buying into it (and boy has he committed in ways that Chase wouldn't ever dare to do.) He's a huge reason that show is getting ready for season 17.
Back to the point, it's always going to be more fun for the fans when they see the actors also legitimately enjoy thee show too. This is not a unique phenomenon to Community here.
The show is great, and its legacy will be remembered for being a great show. But Chase's legacy is what gets stained. He didn't know what he had. Technically, yeah, it sits on his 'resume.' But to continue the job-application metaphor: He's definitely not going to be using any of those co-workers as his references.
I have no idea why you felt compelled to talk about how classy Devito may or may not be. There's a lot more to that show than simply being crass. It's been amazing at being able to touch on real social issues in clever ways. And as mentioned before, Devito is fully committed to making that show work. What he's willing to do for that role is honorable. I really don't know how many other older actors would be willing to put up with the things he has. Dude is still risking his life in under-water stunts as a 70 year old. I don't know why we need to figure out if he's "classy" or not, lol. He likes the show he's in, and he greatly appreciates the fans he has because of it. That's real class.
@@IRanOutOfPhrases What social issues do you think Always Sunny has dealt with? What have they said that is so profound? I haven't watched all the seasons, I certainly think the writers have been amazing, but how have they changed or challenged the narrative?

Whenever I watch the first few seasons of this show it makes me so sad that actors are weird, flaky people. They had lightning in a bottle. Probably the best TV show ever. It sucks that when I go back to watch it I feel more sad than happy
