Yuuuup. I remember physically wincing when I first watched it. And it’s such a realistic story, I’ve known kids who hv done the exact thing he did, with other injuries. It’s heartbreaking for sure
I honestly think that Jeff and Britta are underrated as a couple. They seem like they understand each other better than Annie and Jeff who have better chemistry but not much else.
7:23 I love how Troy pointed when Britta did her "judgy face" without even staring at her. Jeff and Britta are definitely my endgame couple, but I liked Troy and Britta too
I adore them, I love their (not really that effective) group parents dynamic. Not to mention how their personalities are totally foils to each other, altruistic to a fault and narcissistic to the point of self sabotage, amazing balance (until they ruined it by having the unfortunate jeff annie thing)
The Jeff/Britta story has big problems from a writing standpoint. Not real world ‘who works well together’ but story telling. Biggest is the actor chemistry is at its most impactful a friends with benefits one. Seeing them as a loving couple? Nah. The writers merely recognized this and changed tack accordingly as the show went on. Jeff/Annie is a classic love story by accident. The actors have such an explosive but sweet chemistry writers had to write it into the script or replace one of the actors. The real shame is they didn’t embrace the purely accidental archetypal love story they had. A couple united by similar problems (alienated family, immaturity, inability to connect to their own truest emotions) deeply in love but unable to act on it due both to their own fear and external social circumstances? That’s a great story. And they butchered it because the lead writer just doesn’t like that kind of story.
@@JodyOwen-we6oo I'm beyond glad they left that plotline where it needed to stay. Jeff's character is quite literally twice Annie's age when the show starts. Actor chemistry is one thing, but that still runs into the reality of the show that was created. They didn't butcher it by not having a 40 year old get together with someone who's at most 22.
In Jeff's speech to his dad, he says that he's been keeping cards twenty-two years since seventh grade, which would make his age in S4 34-35. In S5, however, he admits that he's forty. Since both scenes are emotionally raw moments for him, it'd seem that he's telling the truth in both, which means that the only logical explanation is that a wizard did it.
Never realized that the outfit the Dean is wearing in that first clip is the same one that Jeff wore for the Halloween party when he was trying to get with Professor Slater. Love this show lmao
Better relationship than annie and jeff, but I'm glad they did away with any solid long lasting relationship. It allowed for a lot more chemistry between other characters. I want a marriage like Jeff and Britta's friendship if I'm being honest lmao.
I don't like this idea that the show went out of it's way to make Britta more flawed just so she'd look worse than Annie in comparison. But if you ask me. If Jeff still ended up with her despite these flaws, it would've been all the more impactful. That Britta could both be a funnier character AND a love interest.
I think due to the unusual, ever-changing but still somewhat consistent characterisation of her, Britta's character got more complex as the series went on. I didn't like how the show sometimes pit Annie and Britta against each other due to a man. And I don't like the idea that for Britta to prove her worth, she had to have a love interest. That last part being said, though, I *adore* Britta/Frankie, even if it's not particularly supported by canon. I just think there's so much potential there. Do you know of the Community Discord btw? EDIT: That's not meant to shoot down your opinion, though. Just realised that could've come across that way. Sorry if I'm being a dick. I think Britta is fascinating.
for real, you can see the precise point where Britta's character and story releveance takes a nosedive and it's when they make Annie into the main love interest. It's so blatant and eugh it's the main reason I don't feel like rewatching the show anymore. And Britta was always a more interesting character anyway, even with her strange writing.
Ive always wanted Jeff and Annie to be the endgame and i still believe thats how it should’ve been, but i love so much how Britta and Jeff’s relationship went from the main romantic interest of the show to basically best friends. This show is really fucking well written for a sitcom
Britta is the best because she gets the best out of every single one of them. So Jeff was right, Britta is the heart of the group
Thats abed.
I think it’s Troy or Abed
Its Troy
@@aysitalownatlanch1052exactly. That’s why everything went wrong when he went to get the pizza
Britta is the best because she's played by Gillian Jacobs.
Britta is so cute. She is so underrated
That appendix story is absolutely heart-wrenching and added a lot to Jeff's character. One of the small writing highlights to the Gas Leak Year.

I hate that they had some of the best couple energy while she was dating Troy
Can't believe it Britta even Britta'd being a bad character
Right no matter how hard the writers tried 😭
I honestly think that Jeff and Britta are underrated as a couple. They seem like they understand each other better than Annie and Jeff who have better chemistry but not much else.
I honestly think that everyone on the internet thinks that everything in the world is underrated
@sabrina63 This comment is soooo underrated
also annie is 17 years younger than jeff so maybe thats not the best endgame to go with
i might be the only one but i didnt see chemistry w jeff and annie at all. I think the age gap threw me off mainly because annie acted so young
Anni and jeff has no sense, Annie's character is too young for jeff. They just look good together due to alison brie actual age...
I need them together so bad 😭😭😭
7:23 I love how Troy pointed when Britta did her "judgy face" without even staring at her.

They're about as effective as group parents as Britta's real parents
@@bwhere45frl like sorry i dont wanna see a 19 year old get with a man thats old enough to be her father…why is that so confusing to some people
@@bwhere45you hit the nail on the head. i couldnt even see their chemistry bc annie acted so young
0:08 she looks so cute here🫠
I think out of all them Britta got to see a more vulnerable part of Jeff, i hope the will be endgame. Always liked their dynamic

I get you 😂 their friendship was so damn entertaining that I needed it for life, like a friendship rivalry marriage

Jeff and britta _and_ Jeff and Annie were cute duos tbh. But most duos within the group were always so beautifully written, like Shirley and Jeff 🥺💓
Shirley and Pierce ❤

I've never thought of mixing red wine and orange juice. 6:24 Is it good?

Oh this is season 4 where everyone's characters were written weird.

Britta, love of my life ♥
She Britta'd their relationship 😂
The one where Pierce is hanging out with the Leonard and the hipsters when Pierce *knows* how much Jeff hates Leonard is peak married couple to me.
Season 4 was a car accident
Lol love the Seinfeld reference at @7:50
Oh, Britta’s in this?
The S1 eps whr they act as abed parents already prove they can be the best couple BUT would become another generic one like in many other shows
2:50 Why do I not remember that looking so shit? Gas leak I guess
