- Featuring scuffed GMK Burgundy, lmk if you notice the scuff, got the set for a good deal anyways lol. Currently hunting for the Hangul alphas kit for this set in any condition, if you have a set you're willing to sell hmu on discord @chenyz.
Been a while since I've done a proper mx blacks on alu sound test so just wanted to give it a try on the Sessan since I haven't tried this config yet on the board. I definitely still prefer the browns on pp build, but keep in mind too this is on the millmaxed pcb and would probably sound better if soldered.
Something interesting I've noticed is that older GMK sets (pre 2020 ish?) sound a bit more dense and you can sort of hear it here on the spacebar. The same goes for my set of GMK Cafe, also has a slightly denser sound than the newer GMK molds on the brighter/thinner side.

Ima be real, ALU plates are normally my least favorite (POM or FR4 generally) but tbh this shit sounded SO NICE!
Damn I didn’t know there were Alu haters.
Generally I thought copper and steel were the worst because brass is better. Alu leads to awesome space bars with inks and jwks but alphas are meh.
@pokepokepoke64 nah, I just haven't used a GOOD quality board + alu plate combo. (All of my experience has been with more... budget boards.)
@pokepokepoke64 honestly, that also appeals to me -- bc a lot of the time with like PC, PP, POM plates the spacebar is just... mid

I actually don't think I have a favorite plate material right now it sort of changes on a board by board basis bcs of different mounting systems and other factors etc. I usually do like alu though, its one of the more neutral sounding plates imo. Specifically in this board though, my favs gotta be carbon fiber and pp but this config is nice too

I always forget to put the info on the springs in the description my bad haha but I'm pretty sure these mx blacks have tx 62g mediums. I prefer tx 65g longs in my linears usually and the 62g mediums in browns

The seller lost it but it was for a good deal compared to the usual burgundy aftermarket prices and I couldn't resist LOL. If I ever get lucky and find somebody selling just the hangul kit, its probably gonna cost more than what I paid for the base kit
Yeah the spacebar is pretty thuddy in this config its not my fav, I still prefer the sessan with pp/cf cleaner sounding mods
