Hi Stuart - Have thoroughly enjoyed all of your T120 videos so far. I take delivery of mine next weekend (after ordering it in January!!!) and seeing all your trials & tribulations have really helped. Being based in Warwickshire some videos of your camping trips to Northern climes would be most welcome as I plan to take the bike there during the summer for a spot of weekend camping. Love your commentary too - factual, realistic & down to earth - just what a good vlog needs to be. Keep 'em coming Stuart. From one very happy subscriber!
What a lovely message! thanks so much for sharing with me! You are going to love your bike. I thoroughly recommend the Yorkshire Dales national park, its a great place to camp and all the beauty spots are fairly close together so you can see a lot in just a couple of days! and the roads are great! Thanks for your subscription it is very much appreciated.
Great video with a very practical piece of kit. Wonderful scenes of the Lake District, Derwentwater and the Hardknott Pass. Definitely more of those please.
I am thinking of taking up motorbiking and have found your channel and videos excellent and helpful. It is all extremely well put together, with superb content. I especially like your sections on gear and camping, as I am sure I am not alone in seeking good quality long term purchases without breaking the bank. Thank you.
Yorkshire Dales is a brilliant idea ( I live in West Yorkshire) so it makes a change from Alps etc. Haven't been camping on the motorbike since the late 80's, and would love to start again. Don't have any equipment, so your "things to take" and reviews are much appreciated. 👍
Agree with everything you say about this bag. I bought one and fitted an Apex cuff dump (one way valve usually used on diving dry suits) to eliminate the trapped air in the bag. Probably invalidates the guarantee, but works a treat!
I've been on rides from 1 day, to 7 weeks long. All were done the way you're doing here. I learned to do with less, take less, and if it doesn't fit in 1 big bag as you have here, it doesn't go.
Awesome! Looking forward to camping how to’s, latest reviews of camp equipment and just actual camping details, slow down and smell the roses... great channel, keep on keeping on! Wa. State fan
Looking forward to information on biker-friendly camp sites and generally places throughout the UK (in your experience) where it's the fact that you're on a bike that makes it better. The scenery at the end of this video looks particularly good for bikes and I thank you again for going to the trouble of sharing your experiences and making some of our future biking/ accessory etc decisions a little more 'informed.'
Hi Stuart, this is exactly the sort of thing I'm interested in and would appreciate watching. I'm new to motorcycling and have just got my Street Triple ready for a long weekend away with tank bag, tail pack and satnav setup etc. Initially I'm thinking about travelling with b&b in mind but would consider tenting if I could carry all the gear I need. Destinations in mind are the same as you - the Dales initially but then hopefully Scotland after a little experience. I'm from the same neck of the woods as you too. Keep up the good vloging. 🖒 Iain
Thank you sir and good on you, for planning trips a little farther a field than Scarborough for fish and chips! there is no better machine for touring and exploration. Not everyone enjoys tenting! and B&B trips are just as relevant, I hope you have a great season! Ride safely!
Great no nonsense gen there thanks! Love my GS but am leaning towards the Triumph and it's the lack of easy luggage and weather protection that has been stopping me. Your vids remind me that we use to do it on the original Bonnies and that was pre motorways. More touring, campsite etc vids would be great and ongoing commentary about how the Triumph is shaping up to the challenges. Ride Safe!
Hey Stuart, Love your videos watching them from Canada. I grew up in Yorkshire so it is lovely to see home thru your camera, keep up the great work as i tuck my trophy away for a snowy winter :-(. San Fransisco trip next year though!!! Ride Safe
That is a good idea - someone said at Adv Rider site (following Todd And Chantelle Powell journey...) that the time for hard panniers might be just about over and people are searching lighter, more compact and elastic alternatives... I was interested of the Lomo Rucksack (we do not ride long trips but sometimes need something larger with us) and thought it could be place across the rear seat too. But this is also an alternative, maybe better - for us the 30 or the 40 liter one might do well... Thanks!
They are rather good bags, it makes you wonder why you have paid silly money for similar bags in the past, thanks for your comment it is duly noted, am trying to get it all organised, watch this space!
Biking is great but biking and camping, now you're talking! Personally I'd really, really like to see footage of camping trips and maybe camping equipment. I'm really impressed you get fit most of what you took on the GS on the Triumph. 👍🏻 Thanks for sharing.
Ah those were happy days on the GS. Yeah to be honest I was a bit stunned by this bag and its ability to swallow up everything I need with me especially for the price. I know one bag bike camping is gaining popularity in the States and I think I understand why now. Your not searching around among different bit of luggage for stuff because its all in one place and once your tents up, you take your bag inside and again all your gear is in one place. I love it! Glad you enjoyed the video Dervman and glad you've stuck around, more camping stuff coming I promise!
Great review mate! I have a T120 too, and just bought those Triumph bags for this seasons touring, I can see I'm going have problems, like you I resisted the extra waterproof covers, but luckily I had some on my old bags that fitted. I have also a big dry bag for the rear seat, Ortlieb I think, a bit more expensive than yours, but will do the same job. count me in for some camping reviews too...cheers!
Duly noted Dave! and thanks for watching. I just use the panniers for daily errands as long as the weathers dry. I don't think they would survive a weekend in the lake district!
Perrrrrfect for my recently aquired 70x17x17cm pop-up Slumit 2 Tent; I've been looking for something like this, a bag on the cheaper side yet waterproof and long enough to fit said tent. p.s. just found your vlogs and lov'in 'em - had to subscribe; Please keep doing this kind of stuff (anything pertaining to motorcycle camping)
Stuart, It's all good! I'm very interested in moto camping and plan to do some overnighters for the first time this summer. I don't have a chair and was planning on taking a full size camp chair but will look into the Trekology chair. Thanks,
I appreciate the bike and your stile with it . Nothing like a sales pitch or standard review . I view these videos with respect and consider that you took care in producing them . Can you record for us here the fuel consumption and at what performance level was required achieving it ? Thanks
Just purchased my first T120 "2017". Think I got a deal on last years model,11K US after taxes. I've enjoyed your take on the bike and agree about the bags(previous video). Mine were not waterproof and they showed signs if swelling with the first sprinkle I found myself in. Suggestions on preventing further damage or should I just come off the buck and purchase waxed cottons? Maybe LOMO?
Great videos and info! Big yes to your suggestion of doing a video on all the motorbike camping gear you use. Also anymore camping videos of the GS1200? Amazing scenery. Did you sell the BMW?!
Just about to spend a weekend camping in Queensland, Australia with my brand new T120. I'm using bike specific luggage which I'm sure will do the trick but I can see that a certain amount of improvisation works just as well without making the bike look Heath Robinson-like. BTW, where are all the young bikers? They all seem to look like you and me these days. Or am I trying too hard not to feel like a Wild Hog and just imagining it?
I think its because youngsters cant afford the bikes or the insurance Mike, only mature chaps like ourselves have the cash to spare and the imagination to ride!
Can I ask you a quick question about the Lomo 60L dry holdall ? I've been looking at the 40L but it's a little short in Length and may be a bit of a squeeze , and I prefer the length of the 60L but may not quite fill it and was wondering if the capacity was reduced by 10 ish litres , with the roll top and compression straps done up could you still get it fairly tight and without obvious empty space inside and excess loose material ? Incidentally I met Mr "Goldtop" at The Classic Bike Show in Shepton Mallet , the weekend before last and we were talking about you and your channel , all good things I may add ! :-)
+stuart fillingham thanks Stuart, I'm new to biking and in the process of doing my tests with a view to motorcycle camping next year, so your videos are really useful, thanks. I just watch the one on the 15 L Lomo bag on your tail rack, thanks. Have you got a video explaining your decision to change from a G S to the Triumph? If not that would be of interest.
Thank you!. no did think about it but decided against it! basically its too big, too heavy, and very impractical! it only does one thing well and that is tour with lots of luggage, but totally useless for day to day running around, also build quality has deteriorated markedly over the last 10 yrs and 5 gs's. paintwork and corrosion protection in my opinion is now about the worst in the industry!
Like the look of this but I have the scrambler and was looking at a mixture of kreiga bags. This is so much cheaper but I need to ask do you think it'll be ok with the high exhaust? I see your didn't droop down but is that because of a solid bottom or just the way you packed it?
possibly the way it was packed though with the compression straps and ROK straps it should be the same with less inside. I don't see why you would have any problems even with the high level exhaust.
Stuart, have you ridden the t100. If so how does it compare to the t120. Do you notice any weight difference and is it as maneuverable as the t100. Thanks and I like your vids
I afraid I haven't sir sorry! will try and get it done sometime during this summer though, If you have a look at the Missenden flyer channel I believe he has tested both bikes I may provide the information you seek in those 2 reviews!
Hello Stuart. I bought a New Bonneville T100. I want to buy nice good quality panniers (removable) to carry. I like the Hepco & Becker but i have to remove the passenger grabrail wich i want to stay on the motor. Do you have a advise for nice good panniers? Thanks Eric from Holland
Hi Stuart as always, video packed with down-to-earth info and advice. Under £30 for that? I don't believe it !! I currently have an aging Ortlieb dry bag which cost a packet a few years ago and this Lomo looks a better bit of kit. Re future videos : I'd be interested to know how comfortable the std seat is on the T120, is the std suspension good enough, what average range to a tank you get. I currently have a Tiger 955i, used to have a 2010 T100 and I may go for a cranberry/silver T120.
Ive never actually tried the standard seat although I do have it in a cupboard somewhere! You should easily manage 200 miles to the Imperial gallon and up to 235 ish if your careful! Re ortlieb yeah have done the same myself and the LOMO is at least as good! in fact all their stuff is, they are a very under rated company!
Yes I did, sorry about that its good job your on the ball! mine averages around 68 to 69 to the gallon, on long haul journeys 60 to 80mph I've seen that go up to around 76.
I'm considering to buy a tank bag directly from Triumph. I'm not much into buying panniers after I saw your review. Did you consider tank bag from them? Also, I noticed you don't have any rain cover on the panniers, do they protect some rain after all?
I'm not too familiar with the Triumph tank bag, to be honest ive never been a great fan of them. I have not seen one yet that doesn't have the potential of scratching the tanks paintwork! Regarding the waterproof covers no I don't have any, I just avoid using the panniers if there is likelihood of rain, I tend to use a back pack! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
Definitely want to see more of this. The comments are spot on.
Thank you sir, feel freeto browse my other videos!

Love it Bro! I just bought a 2018 T120 and appreciate all your efforts. Helps me tremendously in looking for best ideas
Great video with a very practical piece of kit. Wonderful scenes of the Lake District, Derwentwater and the Hardknott Pass. Definitely more of those please.
Thank you sir. there are one or two videos ive done on a similar subject if you would care to have a trawl!

Duly noted, thanks for your comment.

it certainly is very good sir!

Excellent video Stuart I have and use the forty litre Lomo. Your reviews of biker friendly campsite seems a great idea and I look forward to watching

Can you record for us here the fuel consumption and at what performance level was required achieving it ? Thanks
great video and what a beautiful place you live in every day on the bike must be an adventure.
Ah yes .. that was shot in the lake district Cumbria! so is about 200 miles from where i live but we get up there as much as we can.
Nice job!
Always interested in camping vids, the gear, the bike, the process for picking locations.
Thanks for your comment its much appreciated!
Brilliant video mate, aye some info on dales/lakes sites would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you! the first of the trips are coming up in the next 2 weeks!
great vid mate, i recognise Nigel from chapel moor, I knew him from when I worked at the vets
You sir are a packing genius
LOL Thank you. I do my best! Thanks for watching and your comment is much appreciated!
Hi Stuart, May I ask which road you are on around 6 mins and 45 seconds ? It looks amazing. Cheers, Tim
Nice video well done. Where are the bends shown at timestamp 7:10 ?
Thank you Sir! That's the notorious Hardknott Pass in the Lake District! reputed to be the most challenging piece of road in the UK!
Just purchased my first T120 "2017". Think I got a deal on last years model,11K US after taxes. I've enjoyed your take on the bike and agree about the bags(previous video). Try Nikwax waxed cotton proofer Philip! it work pretty well but I still wouldn't advise using them in filthy weather!
Great videos and info! Big yes to your suggestion of doing a video on all the motorbike camping gear you use. Also anymore camping videos of the GS1200? Amazing scenery. Did you sell the BMW?!
Yes, the BMW has now gone I'm afraid.

Very helpful! Would the bag strap to the rack, if you wanted to carry a passenger, or would that be too much?
I think this bag would be a bit too big, unless you have a very substantial rack! 40 or 30l version may be a better option for the rack!
+stuart fillingham thanks Stuart, I'm new to biking and in the process of doing my tests with a view to motorcycle camping next year, so your videos are really useful, thanks. Good reviews I liked the chair one aswell
Hi Kevin that's nice to hear and it is after all why I make these videos!
They are good bags certainly in my opinion as good as ortleib and the like!
Are your panniers the stock leather Triumph saddlebags?
Great video and product review.
Thank you Nige and thanks for watching, your comment is appreciated!
Can you tell me where you got the chrome back rack? Thank you

Is your saddle bag waterproof?
Fantastic.
You won me by doctor who reference
lol glad you liked it Jay!
Very Informative. Subscribed.
Thanks
your welcome, thanks for watching
Just open the zip slightly to expel the air , it's not rocket science
errr they dont have zips! its a dry bag they are a roll top bag as per the video and the web link!
