- I use my cheap de-nailer/nail punch for the first time, I assumed it was a great way to quickly remove nails from reclaimed timber but... well.. you be the judge and let me know in the comments.
Do you want to see me try it on something specific? Let me know. It's actually kind of fun to use so i'm open to all suggestions!
I'm not much of a comedian so if you like the shenanigans, then please let me know. If you don't like the shenanigans then also let me know, i've got a thick skin and I only want to produce content that you enjoy.

Bloody Ripper video mate, had me in stitches your sense of humour but a top review on something I’ve never heard of before & I’m grateful to you for presenting this mate 🍻🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍👍👍ps loved the editing big time
hahah Thanks mate, that's very nice of you to say. I went out on a limb with this editing style so its great to see that it was appreciated. Thanks again mate!
That face when it actually worked hahaha. Also a thought, if you made a jig using a thick offcut with a decent forstner bit hole in it under your nail you could support the pallet wood all around and help stop the splitting.
Yeah that could potentially work. If it ends up being an issue then ill give that a try. Cheers.
Very usefull tool if you have pallets to disassemble and also very powerfull !!!
Thanks mate, definitely handy if you use lots of reclaimed wood. And to be honest, it probably has too much power (I never thought I would complain of that) haha it really splits the thinner material but ill just wind down my compressor now. Thanks for watching.
Interesting and amusing!
Cheers 👍
Hey. The tool is good, necessary. But you need to follow safety precautions. Good luck, take care of yourself.
Thank you. Yes, safety first. Always!
If you drill a hole in a piece of wood and put the nail over it you won't get anywhere near as much damage, make sure the board is support both sides.
Thanks for your comment, that's a great idea. I was really just going for maximum destruction!! 😂😂
Mate I think we need to see a video compilation of all the times you used the de-nailer to crack open a beer or break stuff 😂
Thanks for commenting John, it's funny because I am absolutely tempted to use this to bust open a whole range of things!!!
Man those are some thick pallets. I'd love to come across those.
Yeah every now and then I get lucky with a decent quality pallet. Thanks for watching!
I am Still Laughing.
Definitely Loved the Headshot.
and of coarse the ever faithfully Merbau almost always guaranteed to split.
It was worth buying the de-nailer gun ( this word i needed to spell check ?? LOL. ) just to try it out.
I remember a good mate who worked in a demolition yard telling me years ago about a salesmen coming in, and asking if they were interested in a De- nailing machine.
The salesmen never came back again ??
It's a shame, i was curious to see it running ?
Hey mate no idea how I missed this comment but im glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you're well ✌🏼
@Oz Sawdust Makers
All good.
Always great to hear from you.
I hope you have a Great Anzac Day weekend 🙂👍
Very interesting tool brother seems to have a pot of power, I wonder id you reduced the air pressure it might be more gentler on the older stock, I personally do not use air tools any more but well worth it as you say especially if using a lot of recycled wood, fun video too, your twin looks identical :) keep up the great work, oh yeah might be worth wearing a face shield :)
Sorry Bryan, I only saw your comment just now. I am going to try dialling down the pressure a bit next time i use it and see what happens, and yes, my twin is an ugly bloke! haha Thanks for commenting.
@@OzSawdustMakers good one mate, but I bet he is a nice guy, keep up the good work
What if you put a air pressure valve and try it with a lower air pressure?? Maybe can help more on smaller boards so it's not over powering it??
Absolutely mate, great idea. A mate of mine borrowed the tool but when I get it back I will play around with the pressure levels.
For merbeau just like installing it you need to predrill or it splits
Haha yeah certainly seems that way. Maybe i should try some Merbau that was pre-drilled..?
Hey mate, with the denailer if you hit the nail again when it's sticking out, will the second shot fire it all the way out?
Yeah absolutely mate, the nails that didn't go all the way through just needed another go at it 👍
I’d probs not press down on thinner timber or at the ends
Thanks mate, absolutely!
it probably sound counterproductive but can you try hitting the head of a nail. I have access to a lot of plywood pallets i guess 30mm thick but the feet are both glued and nailed together and it will be a lot of extra time just to get to the other end of the nail. the bigger hole wont bother me.
hhhmmm sorry mate, i'm not exactly sure what you're describing but I appreciate you leaving a comment. 👍🏼
@@OzSawdustMakers i think my idea was to drive the nail trough the opposite way by driving it further down in the material. I bought the tool and tested my self and it didnt work., but it was quite fun to use the tool and pretty usefull.
@@Mcdevilbird Oh yeah I get it now! Thanks for clarifying and you're right, it is a fun tool to use!
Lower the pressure for thin boards?
Definitely!
Is it bad that thing gave me a chubby? Wow i need to get one for pallets. :)
😂😂😂
It would be interesting to see if the tool would work on removing cleats from reclaimed hardwood flooring. If someone has tried this, leave a reply and let me know how it worked.
Yeah not sure how that'd go but I'll let you know if I ever try it
