The thing about the Softail Heritage is that you sit "in" the frame instead of on top of the bike.... I ride a Heritage right now and honestly it handles light years better than my Street Glide... My Heritage is probably the best bike I have owned..
I got rid of my 2016 Ultra Limited and kept my 2000 Heritage for the same reason! In vs On...no contest, the Heritage is the bike for me...I can ride it for 8 hours a day and not get wore out and it just 'feels' better - like what all my Harleys have for the past 30 years. I'm not a fairing, radio, doo-dad, tour pack kind of guy.
Would that be better for a tall/ long torso rider? I had an 03 road king with heritage bars on it and it just felt like i was pulled forward a hair too far because the bars felt too low, my back would be sore after about 45 minutes. I would think sitting in the frame would be better right?
The best part is even when it's parked, it just SCREAMS Harley Davidson. You walk away after a ride and look back and YES it is a Harley Davidson - the king of cool bikes. You know you have made it when you ride one of these.
I have a 1995 Heritage and it looks just like a 2018 in design . It is a timeless machine it rides fantastic. I love this bike and will never sell it. I also have a 1995 Ultra Classic. It is a great bike also but the Heritage has a better ride. The only thing better about the Ultra is that it seems not to get sucked into ruts in the road as bad and the floorboards don't shake as much. The Heritage as someone else said feels lighter and more like you are down in it and a part of the bike and not just sitting up on top of it.
I have not ridden a bike in over 35 years and part of my bucket list is to own a Harley and always been a fan of the heritage this week i bought a 2002 heritage and ordered it it will be in a week from today

Not necessarily alternator problem specifically. Loose regulator ground or poor connections in the alternator/regulator system will throw a battery code, Also an older battery with weak cells/sulfation can "pull" output voltage down on a good charging system enough to cause this code also. Needs a good electrical once over first...
Your videos where the only ones that helped me make an educated choice on a new-ish bike. My wife and I just put on hold my first bike. An 06 Heritage Classic at Schaffers Harley Davidson. I chose the Heritage because of its versatility and classic look. I could strip it down and have a Dileux or go with a slamed cholo bike with true duels. I could go ham and throw on a touring package and go cross country with the wife. I can't wait to take delivery. Thanks for the help.
Sean it would be great if you would compare a 2023 Heritage against an older one like this one. I took your advise and watched all of your videos on them and purchased a 2010 Heritage from my Harley Dealer and I loved it until I went to Harley Davidson's demo rides all the bikes that you want to and I rode the 2023 Heritage and it was not the same Heritage! Adjustable ride, abs, cruise control, a higher ride so no floor board dragging, lighter frame, and that engine was like a race bike! I was blown away and worked a deal with Harley to take back the 2010 and exchange them. I really would like to hear your opinion on the comparison since you have a great love for this model. Thanks.....
I always wanted a heritage but couldn’t afford one. I had a sportster and Dyna wide glide for years. I finally bought a 2016 heritage softail recently and it’s fantastic! Most comfy bike I ever been on and I’m 6’3 205lbs. Even better than road king. The way you sit down into the frame just feels great to me. It floats down road like a Cadillac
Gonna pull the trigger this weekend and pickup a 09 Heritage. Goin from an 02 Ultra Classic . More or less for medical reasons ankles knees shoulders. Ultra to heavy. My wife rides a 06Deluxe . And I like it. Being in my mid 60's. Good decision. Selling the Ultra to my son. Gonna keep it in the family. Great videos
I have Vance and Hines Big Shots Longs on my 2010 and they sound great, quite a lot better than the make featured in the video, just say'in. The Heritage rides more like a sport bike (better handling characteristics) than the other Harley's I've had. Next Mod is to go with new shock absorbers, the heavy duty kind, as the bike loses some bounce as it ages and the shocks settle.
You’ve obviously never ridden a sport bike The softail chassis handles like crap. Because of the rear suspension if you turn deep into a corner it hops It’s just a cruiser
I own several types of bikes including more than one ZX14r and 2 ZZR1200's (Kawasaki)....so you missed my point. For a Harley (Cruiser) the Heritage Softail handles better than the other Harley's I've ridden or owned. I have also never had my Softail HOP, as you claim.
Hey brother, I really enjoy the videos, I especially love the fact that right before you roll out you share a scripture of God's Holy, infallible living word with all us viewers. And that my brother means everything!...Oh yeah I also of course dig the scooters.I really dug that blue Heritage in this video. I've got a 2011 SuperGlide Custom with same engine and pipes loving it!.... Anyways just wanted to say thank you for sharing, and God bless you for not being ashamed to do so!
Yeah, I like the Heritage Softail but I like the rubber mounted engine on the Dynas better. The Softails have the B engine with an internal balance shaft. A little too smooth for me, I like the feel of the rubber mount myself but it wouldn't be a deal breaker by any means!
As a guy who's always loved bikes (any model) and owned 2 HD's 'n a Triumph chop, I really enjoy the way you show different makes and how they basically perform. Keep the rubber down
My '05 I ground off the backs of the floorboards the 1st week, had to weld headbolts under the outer edges as sliders, put 2" over forks and tins on jacked up the rear to same lean angles as a 2010 Sportster. Have worn out 9 sets of bolts since. Stock seat was good for 45 minutes to Monkeybutt; had to dish it out and put a gel pad in, 4" risers to the bars and hands are level with shoulders for long haul days.
I'm buying a 2000 Heritage Soft Tail from an original owner who is having to sell it due to health issues. It's in showroom condition and he's run only synthetic oil in it since day one. I buying it cause it fits me right how I can sit "in" the bike as opposed to on it and it is one Hell of a nice looking machine.
What is the best first beginner bike that is not heavy but light but not fast but not slow and $100-1000 range? Ive have sat on a Kawasaki ninja zx6 and just fell in love with it but after watching listening to so many people it just felt like i should not own one but i do love BMW's and Kawasaki but Touring and off road bikes are expensive and heavy and they told me that sports bikes you have to go high speed to heat the engine or it wont function properly and im like i just want a sport bike or something that im not going to blow the engine nor my money. Its just a hobby.whats your opinion Sean?
I've ridden my '96 for years, when I had to sell my '59 Pan...I hit a deer 2 years ago so I spent $5g's and now she's a black custom Softail. Love this bike's blue color tho.

I’ve been a Road Glide rider for the past 8 years and decided to get lighter. After test riding a ‘21 HST and the BMW R18 Classic, I went with the BMW. For me, the mid controls were comfortable and the bike overall more nimble. I liked the mini apes on the Heritage better than the beach bars on the BMW but can change those. The BMW took the lines from thier ‘36 R5 and updated it. Smaller gas tank and no fuel gauge but… that 1.8L boxer is something to behold.

No vinyl on any Harley-Davidson.....ever. Bags are leather wrapped on the newer, hard-bag models. I had a 1957 Harley Hummer 165cc 2-stroke that still had a leather seat.
The FLSTC is my favorite post Shovelhead Harley. I have an 01 FLHRCI Road king I like the Softtail better and the FLSTC has a CV carburetor not this fuel injection like on my Road king. i like the handlebar on that bike you are riding but not sure why I would need six gears.
If all you do is bar hop on city streets, then no you won't need that 6th gear.If you do any long distance riding at freeway speeds you'll be glad you have it.
@@mikethemagnificent6631 I forget I have 5th gear in my 02 FLSTC. I just sold it this week and sold the Road King last month looking for a good evo I can work on like my 72 FLH. Plugs points and a battery screw all these electronics.
Hey, so I'm looking at buying one of these bikes at the end of the summer. I found a used one for about 5k that has around 56,000 miles on it. I'm new to motorcycles and I'm not sure if that is considered high mileage or not. Should I pull the trigger on this bike or keep looking?

No vinyl on any Harley-Davidson.....ever. Bags are leather wrapped on the newer, hard-bag models. I had a 1957 Harley Hummer 165cc 2-stroke that still had a leather seat.
The FLSTC is my favorite post Shovelhead Harley. I have an 01 FLHRCI Road king I like the Softtail better and the FLSTC has a CV carburetor not this fuel injection like on my Road king. i like the handlebar on that bike you are riding but not sure why I would need six gears.
If all you do is bar hop on city streets, then no you won't need that
6th gear.If you do any long distance riding at freeway speeds you'll
be glad you have it.
What year and condition?
@@brittanyjackson1718 Well it was a 2003 and ive no idea what condition it was in. I got to the dealership and they told me that it had sold already. Did some looking around after that and bought myself a 2004 Dyna Low Rider a two months after I posted this comment.
@@ThatMetalhead018 Nice! Glad to hear you found a bike....ride safe have fun! God Bless
Sean Kerr, you need to get it together bro. It is 2007 the 96ci was made for. LOL. J/k 😉 I didn't know either but had to pick on ya. Thanks for all your clean motorcycle videos and the bible verses. They bless me. 😎
love my FLSTC
my fav type of HDs
Love the videos but it would be nice if you could keep your head still. I get dizzy watching the view bounce up and down and every which way 😊
Love those bars
How much
Sorry what year was this one again I must have missed it
2007
Amen brother 🙏
Wow, what kind of exhaust is that? Sounds horrible, very ‘knocky’. Beautiful bike though!
I came to the comments for the same reason. It doesn't even sound like a HD, it sounds an import V-Twin copy cat.
