RM - moonchild (Female English Cover) II LEYAH

Phew - this was honestly such a hard song to cover! I first tried singing the song in it´s original key but... that did not work out lol i instead opted for the higher key but still had some problems with the lower parts, i hope you can overlook them and focus a bit more on the english interpretation of the rap part! I worked hard on this song bc i really connect to it. This song is the soft embrace you need when looking into the broad night sky...
I actually wrote the English lyrics to it shortly after the original was released, i just never had the confidence to record it. I do think my song-writing skills have improved since then... however i still like how the english lyrics turned out!
Especially the rap part isn´t directly translated but rather an interpretation of the lyrics. I mainly used the translations of this website: doolsetbangtan... and my own (fairly limited) korean.
One little thing that I didn´t change was the thorn part in: "Don´t you know the brightest beacons got thorns and yet still they shine". Originally the korean word 가시 (thorn) describes someones pain, sadness, loneliness etc. (according to doolsets website) so i didn´t really know how to accurately translate it without loosing the meaning, so i decided to just use it word for word. In the end the lines don´t really make sense but i think it was the better decision to keep it that way. You can interprete this section in different ways... in the original the word "street lamp" is used rather than "beacon". I used beacon bc it can be seen as anything that shines and gives hope - not just as a street lamp. Yet the beacon still has thorns, meaning it still has struggles and pains to go through! I guess this version is a bit more abstract... so of course you can interprete the section however you want!
