  • A short video with presenter and conductor Jason Lai to suggest how you should behave in a concert. In the guide you'll meet the characters you shouldn't be in a concert and find out when to clap, how to cough quietly, why it's best to arrive on time for concerts, why it's not a good to fall asleep (and snore) in a concert, and much, much more. Watch and learn and attend concerts like a pro.
    Meet the characters:
    0.22 Mis-Clapper
    0.50 Sir Cough-a-lot
    1.13 Crinkle Toes
    1.43 Sleepyhead
    2.09 The Tardy Tortoise
    2.33 The Buzzy Bee
    3.04 Chatterbox
    3.24 The Lame Addict

This so hilarious. AND HELPFUL. I remember ages ago learning how to behave. Only new thing is the cell phone problem. Times change. But…Music is forever.

This is great! We have a concert for all fourth graders in our district presented by the California Chamber Orchestra. It will be the first classical music concert for most of the students. I will send this to all of the teachers in my district. Perfect! Thank you.

Honorable Mention- Fighting in a concert will not be tolerated and will result getting ejected from the concert, arrested or both.

I forgot to add in a previous comment, no smoking, tobacco use or use of e-cigarettes. There are "No Smoking" signs at the door for a reason. Also, don't even think about replicating The Rite of Spring riot by disrupting the performers. They work incredibly hard to give everyone the best performance possible and acting like a bunch of sixth graders who got a hold of the keys to their parents liquor cabinet is completely disrespectful to everyone.

Various pieces of classical music including Elgar's Cello Concerto and extracts from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. The jingle that introduces each section was chosen by the director!

Lol, sure - classical audiences have to be taught like children how to act at a performance because it's oh-so-precious and important to protect the egos of the people playing as well as all the snobs who are there to show off their superiority without saying a word - which is of course part of the etiquette.

    • @xn1438

I think it’s just basic respect my guy but sure

    • @andreasvandieaarde
      @andreasvandieaarde Год назад

@@xn1438 If it were basic respect, then why do you not see the same behavior exhibited in different performance cultures? Unless you were to suggest that other performance cultures are simply disrespectful, which I would argue is not the case at all.
