- A short video with presenter and conductor Jason Lai to suggest how you should behave in a concert. In the guide you'll meet the characters you shouldn't be in a concert and find out when to clap, how to cough quietly, why it's best to arrive on time for concerts, why it's not a good to fall asleep (and snore) in a concert, and much, much more. Watch and learn and attend concerts like a pro.
Meet the characters:

0.50 Sir Cough-a-lot
1.13 Crinkle Toes
1.43 Sleepyhead
2.09 The Tardy Tortoise

Thanks Jessica for watching and yes please do share it with your students!
This so hilarious. AND HELPFUL. I remember ages ago learning how to behave. Only new thing is the cell phone problem. Times change. But…Music is forever.
Music IS forever! (And yes just remember to turn off the mobiles :))
great video, funny :D
This is great! We have a concert for all fourth graders in our district presented by the California Chamber Orchestra. It will be the first classical music concert for most of the students. I will send this to all of the teachers in my district. Perfect! Thank you.
I hope all the students enjoyed the concert and also used some of what they learned in the video!
1:38 Also, no food or drink is allowed in the auditorium.
you really dont want to cough right now...
or be at a concert
Very true, but let's hope concerts resume soon...
Honorable Mention- Fighting in a concert will not be tolerated and will result getting ejected from the concert, arrested or both.
Pretty accurate! haha. When I'm playing in a concert it bothers me to see people like that.
Glad you enjoyed it Ariel! I'm just hoping this vid helps audiences so we can do our job!!
Thanks for watching!
I remember been asked concert etiquette for audience in my exam.. I didn't know anything..thank you for the video 💜
These are many of the reasons I and most of my well-mannered arts loving friends, no longer attend any performances...
Oh dear....sorry to hear that...
So funny 🤣 😆
Wow
Thank you!
My pleasure!
My pleasure!
I forgot to add in a previous comment, no smoking, tobacco use or use of e-cigarettes. There are "No Smoking" signs at the door for a reason. Also, don't even think about replicating The Rite of Spring riot by disrupting the performers. They work incredibly hard to give everyone the best performance possible and acting like a bunch of sixth graders who got a hold of the keys to their parents liquor cabinet is completely disrespectful to everyone.

The conductor was flying ok!?

Module brought me here fuck hahahah
Hi! I am a music teacher at an elementary school, and I would love to use your video in a lesson on audience behavior. Do I have permission to use it in my lesson?
Hi Olivia thanks for watching, and thanks for asking permission. Yes please go ahead and share in your lesson, hope the kids find it useful 😊
Whats the piece in the video
Various pieces of classical music including Elgar's Cello Concerto and extracts from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. The jingle that introduces each section was chosen by the director!

I'd say people who have a cold should just give away their ticket to a healthy aficionado.
make a concert etiquette video for people with Tourettes lol
my life be like ooooo waaaaa
: )
I find it because of module
I watch this because of my module🙄😅
Lol, sure - classical audiences have to be taught like children how to act at a performance because it's oh-so-precious and important to protect the egos of the people playing as well as all the snobs who are there to show off their superiority without saying a word - which is of course part of the etiquette.
I think it’s just basic respect my guy but sure
@@xn1438 If it were basic respect, then why do you not see the same behavior exhibited in different performance cultures? Unless you were to suggest that other performance cultures are simply disrespectful, which I would argue is not the case at all.
I ant following any of these rules.
lol
ur in 5th grade i bet
