- With an atmospheric river headed towards the Bay this week, we asked KTVU meteorologist Mark Tamayo to give us a break down on what exactly they are and how they form.

AKA Rain…it comes in several forms: light, medium, and heavy rains. Continuous or scattered.

What i wanna no is.. i was born in 1980 where was these atmospheric rivers at then just an in 2000 just recently started hearing about these the past 3 to 4 yrs
They were called torrential downpours but today's pathetic society has to make up new words.

They use to be normal weather this time of year over Oregon and southwest Washington, we use to call it the banana express. It would usually start in Sept/Oct and sometimes go clear into Apr/May, thus the saying "April showers bring May flowers". We would go days, sometimes weeks without a break from the rain. I am very confident with my comment due to the fact I have lived in Oregon my whole life, 57 years.

That’s a little vague. I’m going to make a correction it’s a cloud any elongated cloud with a scale from 1-5. 1:primarily beneficial to 5: hazardous. Lmao. Yes this is vague. Basically they are referring to a cloud that rains

Or a type of "rain-cloud" sure. There are many variants of storm systems on Earth.
It's not _that_ complicated(referring to OP).
We use to call it a rain storm or the banana express. And it use to normally hit landfall over Oregon and southwest Washington from Sept/Oct clear thru Apr/ May some years, not California. We would go days, sometime weeks without a break from the rain. California gets this weather now because the world weather manipulators/geoengineers have manipulated the jet stream by HAARP and geoengineering farther south to now make landfall thru California.

The term “atmospheric river” was coined in 1994. Similarly, the AR-15 was termed, “assault” rifle, even though the AR stands for Armalite Rifle. Another example of verbal, fear mongering, judo?
