At the beginning of the Triassic Period, with the continents locked together from pole-to-pole in the supercontinent of Pangea, the world is hot, flat, and very, very dry. But then 234 million years ago, the climate suddenly changed for the wetter.

Imagine being born near the tail end of this, living a couple of decades with nothing but constant rain, and then suddenly it just .... stops.
crazy thing is, we will never know, but whoever was there at that time, will only know. because at the time, keeping records and history was nearly to impossible.
I'm not an expert or anything, but I seriously doubt it would've just suddenly stopped. It's much more likely that there was a very gradual decline in the amount of rainfall, until it finally evened out to more "normal" levels.

@@PBurn88 Yes and also it didn't rain non-stop during 2 millions years. This is a misleading put-a-click video title. The rainfall increased a lot but 1400 mm/year is only the double of most places in northern Europe. Extremely far from a continuous rain.

Petroleum geologist here. The triassic is virtually devoid of petroleum prospects, so much so that we rarely ever look at it. "oh, triassic red beds again", "oh, triassic volcanics, meh!" move on... Jurassic, Cretaceous, and permain all much more interesting to us. As such, this video was interesting since we don't really get to work with the triassic much. I don't even remember any names of triassic subunits...

2 million years is a time beyond comprehension, so long, and then you realize, that's just 0,00045% of Earth's age. 4500 million years is Earth's age.
For a man travelling at the speed of light, those 2 milion years would be around 90,000 (from his perspective). Interesting. A lot, but still fascinating.

In south asia it's so warm in the whole year unless it rains. Monsoon often saves us from the heat. If it rains always, honestly I would love it because it means no more heat. :D I mostly like constant light rain with clouded sky than heavy rain.

Near my home there is a sandstone cliff that has been quarried 700 hundred years ago to build a bridge over the river dee -UK. The sandstone is dated at 250 millions years old
There is several feet of pure sandstone punctuated by four visible thin whiter lines containing rounded river rocks three have smaller pebbles,one has larger rocks
I often wonder what weather event would scatter rocks so far and wide, There is a information sign that states the UK was a small inner part of a much larger continent

It's not like it stopped literally in a day. Took hundreds of thousands of yrs to die down. And even still localised water cycles would keep going on so probably some unique areas never stopped recieving some precipitation and then pangea broke and there was rain again.

Did the dinosaurs really rule the world, or are we giving them credit for administrative skills they most likely did not possess
If it rained as much as in present day coastal British Columbia, then I propose that dinosaurs were not those rough brutes as we're told, but rather gentle, introspect, and often a little depressed.
