- Chuck Todd asked Vivek Ramaswamy, in the wake of the Jacksonville shooting, what he'd do as president to combat racially-motivated violence in the country. Ramaswamy, says that the shooting is a symptom of a new form of national division that has been created and that we have obsessed so much over racial and genetic differences that we as Americans have forgotten that we are all in many respects the same given our national character and identity.
Later, CNN's Dana Bash asked Ramaswamy about his comments in response to Rep. Ayanna Pressley, who said in reference to him, "We don't need brown faces who don't want to be brown voices." Ramaswamy referred to Pressley and her remarks as being emblematic of the modern-day KKK. Ramaswamy stood by and defended his remarks.

I could totally be wrong, but if that’s true it’s also possible they were abused there. That’s pretty likely as they wouldn’t release a manifesto that accuses people of crimes and abuse with their full names publicly. Especially when they haven’t finished their investigation. Knowing as many LGBT folks as I do, it would not surprise me if he was abused, including sexually. It seems like it’s more rare to be trans and not sexually abused/ assaulted than being trans and having such experiences. Especially since I’ve been hearing supposed Christians saying the “cure” for trans guys and lesbians is to assault them sexually for a decade now. Of course, not all Christian’s believe that but it’s not like as individual as this trans shooting. But also I clearly don’t know this for certain, I just think this is a possibility knowing what I know and seeing what I have seen.

Fascism itself is more rooted in anti-enlightenment principles, or dark enlightenment principles- and supersedes a populist platform to serve as an alternative vent for popular discontent while in motive either not opposing the status quo, or re-imagining some previous glorious state of being that to them constitutes progress but in a way that is based on non-enlightenment principles, mainly as a power-seeking tool as well as to permanently crush leftism by essentially erasing enlightenment and post-enlightenment ideals from the cultural and intellectual zeitgeist. It's amorphous characteristics is precisely why it's so hard to define, and so dangerous.
