I live in Canada. With millions of people around the world, I am afraid of what is happening in American politics. We need a strong and united America to feel safe.
I'm in the US and consider myself lucky to not have children with futures to worry about. I give it a 50/50 chance of the country making it to 250 years, but before it sees 255 - it won't be recognizable. I'm reminded of the scene in "V for Vendetta" where Prothero talks about how the US once had everything ... and lost it all.

Mitch McConnell played an instrumental role in getting Donald Trump elected by taking the unprecedented step of not allowing the sitting President's Supreme Court nominee even get a hearing. That gave conservatives a clear reason to get out and vote for a Republican president for whom they might otherwise feel some distaste. I think what McConnell did was awful, but it was also smart and successful.
