"Tuesday's Gone" is the second track on Lynyrd Skynyrd's first album, (Pronounced 'lĕh-'nérd 'skin-'nérd). It also appears on the band's first live LP, One More from the Road. Al Kooper adds upfront Mellotron string sounds to the chorus of the song. It is one of a few Lynyrd Skynyrd songs on which Bob Burns, one of the original founding members and drummer, did not play.

Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet and Blackfoot were all from Jacksonville Florida, home of southern rock!
The Outlaws, and Tom Petty are from FL.
@@bynumite76, The Outlaws were from the Tampa/St Pete area and Tom Petty from Gainesville where University of Florida is.
Shinedown is from there as well, though they aren't as old.
Not to mention that Ronnie's daughter was in a relationship with one of their members.
They are simply one of the best. You can tell by my screen name, I LOVE THIS SONG and I love this band.

Lynyrd Skynyrd was my first concert in April of 1977 the ticket cost $5.50.I was about a week past my 17th birthday. The back up band was Nazareth. It was a great show.
THIS song has single handedly SAVED my life, on MORE than one occasion. The lyrics and the thought behind it, has ALWAYS pulled me back up, when I was, on NUMEROUS occasions, ready to end my OWN life. I have ALWAYS said, had I been old enough to know who AND what Ronnie Van Zant was BEFORE he was tragically killed in the plane crash, and could have SEEN them LIVE, I would NEVER have the regrets I have in my life. I WOULD have seen and understood WHERE he was coming from and was trying to teach people how to deal, and he didn't even realize it, himself.

This song is about Ronnie Van Zant's first marriage ending in divorce it was finalized on a Tuesday
Ronnie's tomb is there, marble with a bird engraved upon it. I hit hiked there ,couple of hundred miles and sat by his tomb. Which is littered with jack Daniels and roaches(pot) all over the place. I loved these guys and still do fifty years later. I hit hiked 200 miles one way just to see them in Tampa, outdoors, two months later they were gone.
Allman brothers are from Atlanta. They're a great band, It's 2 brothers. They were popular back in the 70's. Then you have the Marshall Tucker band from Spartanburg, SC.

When a band is tight as Skynyrd, I don’t think there could be too many members. These guys had been together since most members were about 14. Ronnie was 4 years older than the other band mates.
Skynyrd has many songs, four walls of Raiford is awesome, working for MCA , give me 3steps, these guys are southern rock kings. Southern Rock is the Blue's on steroids.

No the song is about Ronnie Van Zants divorce with his wife. The divorce was finalized on a Tuesday... henceforth Tuesdays gone with the wind, my babies gone with the wind...you can actually feel his pain in the song

If your only reacting to music from LS, fine. Please check the story of the band (movie). Seen the band only once, just after Billy passed away. I was expecting to hear the piano solo for Call be the breeze but did never happend. For me, there are so many good songs from LS, for me besides this songs. Free Bird and Simple man are the "heart diggers" for me, and the all the ones mentioned below after that. Greetings from Finland!
