I enjoyed this video Chris. I'm doing a concourse restoration and I need to keep the labels on the webbing as well as the stamped dates on the buckle. Thanks to you now I can disassemble the buckles before shipping off to the chrome shop and then eventually off to Seat belt restorations.

Finished mine a few months ago. I also used RIT dye to color them (black) AND my wife removed the original labels before dyeing then sew them on (by hand) when done. Wish I could post a pic here...
    Great job Chris.

thats a damn good idea about the rit, i have always washed them with bleach soap and painted them with the vinyl paint i do the dash with... works exactly the same, but i have a nice set of green belts that im going to do the RIT thing on.. thanks for the idea

Thanks Chris. This helps me a lot! You might try to soak them in evaporust. This really knocks down the rust also.

Thanks for the video. One question, the little spring that is on the pin, mine was so rusted it broke. Where do you find new ones? I've been looking at hardware stores and online and can't find one. I found the button spring but don't need those. Thanks again!

You can also let them sit overnight in vinegar, won’t harm the seatbelts

Also I should say those belts are kinda classy lookin': basic black for the buckle, also good and chunky in size, basic black webbing, simple but classy.

I have deluxe seat belts and I am trying to figure out how to install the belt into the buckle. The end is thick Do I not to cut the stitching install the belt and then stitch again ?

It should go back in without cutting or unstitching. I took mine out but haven't put them back together yet so don't know how difficult it is but if it came out...

Lap belts are good, but the shoulder belts are what really save you in a crash- they keep you from hitting the steering wheel or the dash.
