For those quarter window leading edge seals, I stopped by a Speedy Glass one day and they sold me the right stuff. It's like a rubberized strip of fabric you fold around the glass before hammering the trim on. Couple bucks a foot.
Thank you for this. Mine is electric so had to do it a little different. With the electric regulator, I started with the regulator inside and loose. I had to move the regulator whilst installing parts so it helps if you wire it before you put the glass in. Not sure if I did it the best way, but it is going together.
I'm laughing to myself as I watch this video, I already rebuilt my window regulators and ran into the same damn problems. One tip I have, when you're removing the rollers from the glass you can stick your needle nose into the two holes, use one hand to keep the pressure on, use those locking pliers in the other hand to turn your needle nose. Then you don't run the risk of scratching your glass (even though the rollers are below the window felts).
I have a 1970 Pontiac LeMans Convertible, the rear window quarter just fell down into the body, any suggestions on how to get it out? Looks like the only way is to completely strip the seats and panel off, it is really wedged in there. Thanks!
Thanks Chris for this video. I would like to ask if you would make the install video for this. I put my rear glass back in and after a few weeks the glass dropped and I have to tear everything out again but, I don't know if I put it back together properly, in the first place. It worked and seemed ok but obviously i did something wrong or I'm missing a part, I won't know until I pull it apart but and install video would be fantastic, if you can find the time. Thanks again for all of your Chevelle videos they help out more than you can imagine.
I ordered all new insides front n back. OMG thanks again I m going to be able to handle it but one at a time of course!! Right now we have a major chemical haze over our area and I really want to be working on my Monte but the toxins are bad air quality is very bad. Wind tonight so I might be able to get out there tomorrow. I might set up one of my tables in my living room if this toxic air does not leave.
@Chris Craft Yeah I have a few of my monte and I made a playlist of your videos. I m going to rename it help for repair and then just keep the ones when I start taking my seats down. I show what the punk did to the car its a mess Chris. But with your videos and my determination I will once again have a beautiful 1970 Monte. I really am thankful to God he helped me find your videos. What republic do youlive in? I m in Washington near yakima. Peace
What is the best method to replace the leading chrome with the rubber weather seal strip to the rear quarter? I've looked and haven't found a video for it yet on you tube.
Did I hear you right that you were cleaning the parts in Gas? About to pull my window on my 68 and was wondering best solution to clean the regular and run channels
George Linder yes, but you have to get the panel off and remove the bottom window glass stops so you can roll the window down lower than normal to access the screws
What a life saver. Getting ready to put my Monte Carlo back together and it's been a good 4 years since I took the glass and regulators out. Thanks!

+TheAmpNerd I just use dial soap and water then slide it on.. you might have to work it but it slides on without any problems
Chris
Do you recommend I take out the glass in order to install quarter glass moldings
no
@@chriscraft77022 the rubber strip and the metal molding is hard to install.
use dial hand soap to slide them on... video coming soon
Did I hear you right that you were cleaning the parts in Gas? About to pull my window on my 68 and was wondering best solution to clean the regular and run channels

Nice video very helpful thanks!
The 5 gallon can of chem dip from carb rebuilds is great for soaking a window regulator.
how much was the 5 gallon and where did you get it? I WANT ONE
@@chriscraft77022 Yeah me too I can only find it in the one Gallon plastic bottles.
Life saving video thanks
thanks
Chris, can you replace the exterior window felt without taking the glass out?
George Linder yes, but you have to get the panel off and remove the bottom window glass stops so you can roll the window down lower than normal to access the screws
Hey do a video on adjusting door and quarter glass
Don’t use silicone spray it’ll make dirt stick to it and start scratching the glass
Do you know any tricks to install power window on that manual regulator??
