I can’t wait for sentencing. I hope the courts have no mercy. He refuses to repent. He refuses to acknowledge the victims. He refuses to take accountability.
He couldn’t even take partial responsibility for the delays. In yesterday’s hearing he whispered “I’m the victim”.
Ditto!
won't even acknowledge his own name.
@Peytons Place
Shut up Buckwheat.
@@fly_ona_wall729 we know that’s strategic. For some reason seems like he’s getting some advice this is going to help get him acquitted. NOT!!!!
“Im a grown man, with grown kids don’t nobody talk to me that way” please Darrell try saying that in jail

His stiff sentencing defines how grown man he is.
Imagine being 40+ years old. Living outside mom's house. Unemployed. And flexing Mom's Ford Escape but still thinking you look hard.
This comment is so perfect 😂 he really is a loser, and thankfully he will never ever be a free man again, unless somehow he finds a loop hole in the trial ..

Be sure and not miss his other music video in an almost empty government apartment with leftovers on the stove & hardly anything in the fridge. 😆 Just search "Darrel Brooks Jr Bidness" here on RUclips.
He was born for prison. He will do great there, unlike he did being a free man. He can't live in a society.
Detective Casey is HILARIOUS. The way he looks at Brooks and waits for the objection is Priceless.
And his little smirk! I love the guy.
I fricken died at 52:20 🤣
Funny but sad. Demon Brooks tried objecting to almost everything the state asked. Did you see his reaction to them objecting to his questions after his music video was played for the jury? 😂😂😂😂 he acted like it was the most disrespectful thing ever
It was low key funnier when Brooks waited till Casey was half way through answering to object 😂😂😂 so clearly obnoxious and evil
@@missionsquirrelthe judge said "GO" 😂
I love that at Brooks sentencing he said Attorney Opper wasn’t that bright, but yet she played him hook, line and sinker with the rap video. 😂😂
She KNEW that by showing detective Casey an image of D Brooks back, he would open the door to the video being shown. She seems pretty 💡 to me 😂
Omg, she made a boss move by doing that😂🤣💪🏽.
Yes! He also opened the door to the voicemail of his mom being played! If this were a movie and not a horrific event, that would have been the high point.
I found his rant on her incompetence hilarious. She got over 600 year sentence on him. Seems like she was an OG after all 😂
I admire her a lot! To me she is the stand out in this trial!
Yes! That's exactly what I said. She set him up and he stupidly took the bait.
I love how he claims to be a “grown man”, yet he constantly throws temper tantrums!😂😂

The “rant” (I mean that in a positive way) of Susan Opper in regards to Brooks disrespectful behavior towards the court, the judge and the prosecution was 100% spot on! Absolutely loved it ❤
I've only saw a quick clip on that because I had to watch it before I even got to this day 11 video because I was waiting for somebody to call it out because he's just been pulling this nonsense for days now knowing that he can get away with it so it got worse over the last few days and somebody needed to say something. Hopefully it slows him down with his objections and his rants but I don't see that happening
Right! It's amazing that more people didn't say MORE, I would absolutely destroy his fragile ego if I ever encountered him. That whiny voice, the endless mispronunciations, and I hate to comment on appearance but since he's a demon.... good lord that tragic hairline (J9Eve aptly calls this hairline his "horns"), and the short teeth shxt-eating grin he always has on.....but I bet that smile has been permanently wiped off, now! Love to see it!!!
My favorite part how Sue Opper let out everyone’s frustration
It was a well deserved rant!! She earned that time!! She’s been tolerating DB’s behavior for an entire year and I can tell she’s over it already! Good for her, getting his behavior on the record…I’m sure his sickening behavior will help prevent any appeal. 😊

She’s kept it a lot longer than I would have been able to.
I love how she first said play the music video with no sound then DB wouldn’t shut up and she was like never mind play it with sound 😂😂
It was her “bad cop” energy to the judges ABUNDANT “good cop” energy when dealing with Brooks. I would have liked to see more “bad cop”, but they are bigger people than me.
That was a beautiful moment! Said what we are all thinking!
I feel like she lost her cool on behalf of the judge. Like “I know you can’t and you want to so this is for you girl!!” Because I noticed she slipped in that line “ I know EXACTLY why”. Lmfao oh this is good stuff right here!! 😂😂
Exactly what I thought. He HATES that the Judge is a woman and is in control
So true. The fact that he states he’s been extremely respectful to her this entire time is extremely telling. If he thinks that is respectful I’m scared to know what his definition of disrespectful behavior looks like.
I thought that the entire trial. He wanted to get his hands on Judge Dorow and Attorney Opper. He would have hurt those women if he could have. His hate towards women just oozed out of him when he would talk to either of them. He couldn’t believe that a woman would speak to him. That hatred was learned at home. If his mother would have handled her little monster when he was a child, this most likely would have never happened.

How can a person be a jerk throughout the trial and only become "emotional" during the opening statement. It's hilarious that he thinks he is so smart but his intelligence is alarmingly low for a human being.
He's basically a child.
It was just a manipulation tactic.
And then right back to chuckling and being disrespectful to the judge and prosecutors at the very end.
The tears are for himself.
The tears were non-existent
Detective Casey wanted to throat punch Brooks for objecting to pretty much every single question. It is so fricking annoying. All Brooks wants to do is disrupt the testimony. Loved it when Detective Casey actually paused/waited looking over to Brooks and his expression is pretty much saying “Come on object so the judge will say overruled and I can give my answer.”
If Brooks thinks all the objections are doing him any favors with the jury, I’m sure he is highly mistaking.
Miss Stephanie, it is a common sovereign citizen tactic. They will use what is referred to as "Legaleze" out of the context of the posed meaning of a motion, so that they can appeal or request a mistrial based upon their lack of understanding. The misuse of key terms and phrases is purposefully done,, as it creates a foundation to demonstrate their lack of understanding. For most of the Sovereign Citizens that try this B.S., I can tell its all an act, yet there are a few that are dead-set on asserting that their interpretation of a legal word or phrase and the law is correct and the Family, Civil and Criminal Courts along with all attornies (Which they all work for the British Government because they use the word "Esquire") being wrong or mistaken on the definitions and use and application of certain legal words, phrases and laws.
It's disgusting to watch, as their ideology is one of their not being liable, negligent or guilty of most crimes due to codified laws (Example: "State" Penal Code §187, 1st Degree Murder) not being applicable to them. Those codified laws are called "False Laws", and this is why he asks if the judges decisions are based on "Legal Law". The Sovereign Philosophy is a narcissists dream come true in the venue of law, as they believe they are remaining immune to most laws and living by only The Constitution and Common Law. They feel that all courts are Admiralty Courts (Identified by the U.S. Flag having a Gold Fringe around it), which would be a maritime court that addresses vessels, shipping and international trade law. That is why he raises "Subject Matter Jurisdiction", asserting that the court is not the right venue to address criminal charges and convictions. Therefore the court is operating outside of its jurisdiction and is not qualified to hear the subject matter, which are the criminal charges for Murder (6), 60+ charges for felonious assault with a deadly weapon and each charge has a "Deadly Weapons Enhancement". They believe that those charges should be heard in a Common Law court, which do not really exist, yet some would assert that a Civil Court would be a correct venue in some instances. This is why he refers to the State Prosecution as a Plaintiff, which is a term that is usually reserved for Civil Court proceedings. It's all a thing and you can see how deep the Sovereign Citizen rabbit hole goes, as I only covered about 5% of it. I hope this helps understand his faulty and misguided tactic,... if we can call it that. Cheers!
@@luxonlex4453 thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lengthy and informative responds. Some of the things you mentioned I had kind of figured out (through goggle and other research) but it’s nice to know I understood what I researched correctly.
I figured out that the majority of his “I don’t understand or can you explain that to me” are just tactics and a way to disrupt the proceedings. Brooks understands everything that is going on in that courtroom and throughout the trial. He is fairly intelligent. Ok, I give him maybe not understanding some legal procedures right away since he isn’t a attorney but he understands everything perfectly fine once it’s explained to him. Again, he is fairly intelligent.
It’s just frustrating to hear him object to pretty much every single question. I thought it was purely to disrupt the flow of the testimony/questioning of the witnesses or to confuse the civilian witnesses, since they are not used to being on a witness stand and are nervous to begin with.
Thank you for informing me that the excessive objecting and misuse of grounds for objecting is actually a tactic for appeal.
Again, thank you so much for all the information you gave me in your response. It is very much appreciate.
Have a great day.
I really do know that that was a tactic for him to use so it would throw the jury off and the jury would get confused and forget what was asked and maybe the DA's would forget and move on and all this other nonsense but he surely didn't understand how a court trial works and it doesn't work that way and they don't forget what they're going to ask. And he should have realized by now that the judge was going to overrule every single one of his ridiculous objections because they made no sense. He just picked an objection and went with it with no regard to if that was accurate or not. God he's such a grimy SOB
@@SounderMom31 I also think that he knew that the judge could not respond to a lot of things he was asking for, like his advice for this and that and he tried to get her to give him legal advice on many occasions and hoped that that would get her in trouble and he could appeal and have grounds for an appeal but thankfully that didn't work. The judge is smarter than he ever gave her credit for. He should have done a little bit more research into how trials work. His stall tactics did nothing to delay the inevitable
@@SounderMom31 , I apologize for the late response. You are very welcome, I am glad what I imparted helped. I do agree, Darrell Brooks is quite annoying. One of my peeves is that every time the prosecution objects, the judge can't spit out the ruling fast enough before he starts spouting "Grounds!". Then when she does provide the ruling, he asks for the grounds of her ruling. If she provides one, he wants the "Legal Grounds!" or "Is that Legal Law". There was one day that when he would say "grounds", he would yell it like he was starting a fight. He is right where he belongs now, and I'm sure his appeals will get shut down. Cheers!

And also the court reporter who so calmly got all of the testimony down on her recorder not to mention how pretty she was too.
You are 100% correct. Everything the State has done to assist the FOOL is not required under law or in a court room. This case was so cut and dry the State new that any help to him did not really help at all. They are not required to assist in playing the videos or showing exhibits. Normally this is done by the defense even is it is State evidence. The are not required to even serve the subpoenas. They did this to avoid a miss trial and again because they knew the had a solid case. Personally I called the Judge's and the Prosecutors office to personally thank them for exactly what you mentioned. The could not be one citizen in this city that can say that they were presented with the upmost respect. Except of course those who believe and live this defiant life of being Sovereign. The people want to claim this life but in the next sentence want to use the "Constitution" as a defense. HYPOCRISY at its best.

Nicholas Kirby deserves a freaking medal for just being himself on stand and not putting up with Brook’s crap. Plus running to help a assaulted woman. You know the DA was like ‘heck yeah’ when Kirby was testifying. It only helped them.
I agree! Brooks only called Kirby because he was mad at him for coming to Erika's rescue. He feels everything that happened is his fault, as if he didn't come, he would've just taken his anger out on Erika like he was originally planning to do. Like the Judge, it's likely that Kirby and Corrie saved Erika's life that day, as Brooks was clearly angry enough to kill, and he was mad at her for not posting his bail on her own DV case against him.
Nicholas Kirby is A REAL MAN, not just a male. Not many REAL MEN nowadays that would help a female when they are in danger. wado Mr. Nicholas Kirby for rushing to Miss Erika, and for protecting BOTH Miss Corrie and Miss Erika. The term Gentleman is not used nowadays, BUT you, Mr. Nicholas Kirby ARE BOTH A REAL MAN & A Gentleman.
Mr Kirby, congratulations on your testimony which, despite being called by the defence, your evidence essentially assisted the prosecution.
I love when a witness doesn’t understand his rambling irrelevant questions and the witness asks to please rephrase….he either says it was very clear already. Or says the same exact thing he just said just with a more condescending cadence.
He's just insanely jealous of Kirby for being the man who EP called to her rescue. He ONLY brought him in as a witness to try to intimidate him , discredit him or humiliate him. He did none of those things. Kirby was a rockstar witness for the prosecution.

I don’t know about when he sits & stares at the ceiling (I think he might be thinking murderous thoughts then) but when he looks up while trying to think up questions, it’s something most people do when trying to recall a certain type of information. There are theories that people look up, to the middle, or down, to the right or left when recalling memories of images vs audio vs words, and whether they are just straight recalling or are actually crafting information (eg lying).

@@allisonjames2923 weird eh? he probably thinks he's very smart? or he sees this as his last opportunity to play outside of jail and he's making the most of it.
It feels like he’s trying to find out everything he can about how he was “caught” and how far and wide his actions got attention from. No remorse, no empathy for the families he impacted and the lives he took, he just wanted to be notorious for anything. His music video clearly didn’t do the job and so this unfortunately did. I’d love to see him as a case study in the future for psych students. He does not understand what he’s doing when he’s questioning victims because he’s making it worse for him self out of pure greediness. Which frankly I don’t care about. I'm telling you right now if the judge was male he would not be acting this way. He's used to treating women like this. My ex of 15 yrs was similar. Actually he played himself. But you are correct. He has no regards to human life in all manner you stated and had enablers around that allowed it. I do believe the judge watched all his action during the trail and also during victim statements and she came down on him during her sentencing statements. She let him know exactly what she felt and that in the END she was in control and had power over him and she will tell him what he will do... Everything said about him and to him was correct and valid.
You put it politely about brooks “fathering children and not supporting them.” In another comment I was VERY BLUNT on that topic by saying he was spreading his sperm with female, after female. Who knows exactly how many illegitimate children that he really has?

It doesn't get much more bizarre than a pro se defendant calling hostile witnesses to help defend his innocence, while also taking the posture of badgering them with his own hostility in the direct examination. How can he even remotely think that any of this is helping him?
I don’t think him calling his witnesses is to even help him. I believe its cause he wants to harass certain people as his personal revenge. There’s no reason to call Erika back but he’s doing it anyway. There was no reason to call Kirby other than question him about the knife that was mentioned and he didn’t get the answers he wanted regarding why it was brought up (DB felt he was lied on and wanted payback) and because he couldn’t fight/ control him on the street. Same with calling the State. He knows it wouldn’t work and didn’t care, he was proving (a dismissed and irrelevant) point. He has no defense and no one to come to his defense and he knows it
