Seriously could you have imagined what it would have been like if he had actually had representation? It probably would have been relatively close to the same thing and they would have started the actual trial and then he wouldn't have been able to rant like he did when representing himself so he would have probably ended up firing them anyway.
I personally felt sorry for them to even have to set next to him during this hearing. They for sure dodge a bullet. No matter if the represented him or not a guilty verdict would had been handed down. One of the best evidence cases I have ever seen. Thanks to the technological and cell phone cameras we have today.
They would have had to peep those hideous fingernails the entire trial. No question that dude is picking his nose, ear, rear, etc. every chance he gets.

Oh wow. Seems like I missed all of this the first time around. The judge warned him about EVERYTHING he was crying about in court later on from the very beginning. EVERY SINGLE THING.

I watched ALL of these pretrial videos where DB was explained by the judge what self representation means in detail, and was told many times that NO STAND BY COUNSEL WOULD BE PROVIDED. He knew all of this, and purposely played these games. He understands most of what is happening, but he is still trying to get out of the consequences. SMH
As proper he could hire and pay for a stand by arrorney himself. The state would not pay for it.

She's several steps ahead and keeping her cool, making sure to cross ALL of her "t's" and dot ALL of her "i's" on record so that when this dude represents himself and wrecks his case, NO ONE can go back and appeal it because she made sure she did her job by the book. The records will show without a doubt that she gave him every chance for adequate representation. She is a stellar judge not letting him get to her.

That guy is extremely manipulative. A good judge can easily pick up on those signs before the defendant speaks. Only the coldest of the suspects get ahead of a judge like this one.

Just realized that during most all of the pretrial days that he did not wear the headphones and had NO trouble hearing the court. As the case to a close, his hearing must have gotten worse 😮

Agreed. I don’t understand how he believes changing “I understand” to “I am informed” will assist his case. In this situation, I believe he thinks semantics will save him, should he be convicted. How can a person, no matter how well educated, choose to defend themselves. It’s foolish and reckless. But it will make for interesting viewing.
You will have to do some homework on the SovCit movement. It's mostly about twisting words and phrases. With an underlying conspiracy theory mentality. He basically has no defense, but has bought into the movement, and it's mentality. So he will tie up the courts time with irrelevant motions, bizarre objections, and meaningless assertations. But you really need to read up on SovCit to get a feeling for how it works.

She should've denied this in the first place. Just end the hearing. "You're obviously not interested to play by the rules and I find you're not capable to do that" .... Especially as we had seen what happened later in the trial. Just pray to god that this is coming back to bite them in the appeal.

Hi Law & Crime. Can you please please please create a playlist of all the Waukesha trial recordings in order on your site & on RUclips? All the pretrial hearings are titled the same & its realty difficult to find which is first since there are no dates on anything & the recordings are all mixed up on your video list. This is an excellent trial for psychology, medical, law, law enforcement & other students to study & most of your recordings are very good for that so will probably be accessed a lot over years. Some of the early pretrial ones have dreadful audio though - it’s way too quiet, so if you can do anything to fix that, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 😊

I believe if he does go pro se he can't contend any diminished responsibility on mental health grounds unless he has [he hasn't] got clinical proof he WAS incompetent at the time, but NOW [miraculously] isn't.
SO, he's binning any option to a clinical second opinion and 'plead insanity' by establishing the courts agreement to pro se status.
But she’s gotta stop. It’s clear what he’s done to himself. She made it very clear. The judge CANNOT assist. Can’t “print out documents” because he can’t find them or hasn’t read them..etc. I’m hoping she did that yesterday only because it was immediately after the attys walked away…taking their trained brains with them.

Notice how the female defense attorney who was sitting next to Brooks at the first hearing is now sitting at the end of the table. Me thinks that Brooks was starting to “escalate” and it was thought to be prudent to put the male attorney next to him.

Sadly it allows him to traumatize his victims because she has no control what he may or may not say. Most attorney's would have a "filter " over their comments. He is a sick disgusting individual! I am not sure what the ramifications are for a "fair trial" if he says/does things that would get lawyers disbarred or defendants removed from a courtroom. If he continually does or says things, can she remove him and hold him in contempt of court and allow the proceedings to move forward? If not, I am sure that is what he plans to do so he can try to get a "mistrial"
The fact that he will represent himself will make the trial interesting imo.

I can’t wait for the suitcase trial,it was supposed to be months ago I thought but it must’ve been delayed? I’ve watched her interrogation like 3 times, I loved when they brought out the video on her phone (that she deleted but they recovered) showing her yelling at him and telling him he deserved this and isn’t letting him out, after she just told the detectives they were just “playing a normal adult game of hide and seek, we were laughing and having so much fun!” Lol
I don't know why it's been delayed but I think it has something to do with her firing her attorneys. I either heard that or read it, but I will Google it to see what I can find out.
I've watched the interview many times as well, lol. Its going to be an interesting trial.
All I can find right now is it starts November 7th.
