Love your videos. You truely have been threw the rough days as a videographer. Your advice is 100% true and real from the heart. I made the transition from weddings to corporate as well. I just lost the passion for weddings for many reasons. I enjoy and feel more professional by producing corporate videos for big corporations. I also get the respect from people i know by working for big companies. People get stuck in the wedding industry and then dont know how to get out of it after many years. Love your videos. Thank you for your content. Mert Karacayil

So much of what you said only confirmed what I sort of knew already in my heart. In particular, about identity and the choice of client/collaborator one wants to position themselves toward. I'm really grateful for this information.

Man I have been going through all your videos. These are fantastic. Ive been in the video/film world for almost 20 years but just recently started my own production company again. Business is going great but I got a lot of value out of these. Let me know if there is any way to help promote what your doing.

Hi Simeon - it's cool you are looking into the camera but you need to reposition the mic - the volume goes way down when you are not right on it / off to the side - but it wasn't too bad :-)

As a 16 year old looking at university courses and wanting to go into screenwriting, I have found myself stuck. There are two courses I am considering, Film and production and also Theatre :directing, writing and performance. I hope to be a screenwriter but also perhaps branch out into other fields, maybe directing or acting. My question is, as my main focus is writing should I take the theatre course which includes being able to transfer to the film course in a module, even though my main focus is on the film industry? I just though that because theatre includes such an emphasis on writing, it may be useful, as I am not as interested in the technical side of film.

Henry W I think you’d need to get multiple opinions on this. Though one great thing about film school is the network. You are meeting people who will make films in future. Film structure is different to play structure in my opinion. How many film directors, start in theatre? I don’t know the answer. But it’s worth researching. Film school will have a lot of baggage that you may feel you don’t need. But understanding editing and the film process could be useful

Thank you for the informational answer, I will definitely be researching more as I go along. A lot of people say that you should be doing extra work whilst at university or perhaps even before. If i'm 16 and just starting out with a decent camera and a boom mic, what kind of work would I accept to be able to do in order to build up a type of brand? In addition to this, should I be focusing more time on building a name for myself through free lancing or focusing on storytelling in short films - both have an advantage in my opinion? Thanks again.

How dare you shoot the animals!!!! WTF that is soooo wrong!!!
Just playin' hilarious that in ths day an age one has to clarify that, when it is common sense.
But I would love to get involved with the Masai and wild animals....any hints would be greatly appreciated.
