I'm strangely comforted by the fact leg/muscle cramps were early symptoms. As that was one of my first major symptoms too, and a lot of T1's I've spoken with didn't get that. But, I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism the year before (2007) - so maybe hypothyroidism/T1 combos causes muscle issues.
Just found your channel! I'm 64 years young!! I developed drug induced acute auto immune type 1 diabetes, due to one of the drugs I'm getting for cancer. This happened just last month, so I truly know where you are coming from. I am still on a sliding scale for insulin, so most of the time I feel like I don't know what I'm doing. So glad I found your video.
You’re singing my song! Very similar story to me. DXd at age 44 but not as smart as you to call dr with symptoms. Had 3 young kids at the time and “didn’t have time” to focus on me. My body was shutting down at that point and went immediately into ICU with a bs of 980. Dr said if I had waited 30 min longer I probably wouldn’t be here. 😢. You caught it early….and I’m jealous of your A1c now in your newest video😮.

Just came across this video. As a new T1 myself, it brings back memories when I ended up in the ER with 450 BS little over a year ago. The main thing I wanted to tell you is that this will get better and more comfortable as time goes on and your knowledge and familiarity increases. So take heart and hang in there! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

I was diagnosed back in 2001 - I ended in the ER of blood sugars of 609 it was scary at first - but now since I’m the insulin pump it’s been easy .
I'm a type 1d too stay strong.
