Great video. You covered everything that I have to think about before eating pizza. One thing I never thought about was this idea of frozen processed versus a fresh one. For myself what I do is try to eat it for lunch instead of dinner and go for a walk afterwards. Thanks for covering many of the variables involved.

Good video. I’d also suggest try experimenting by eating the salad as a starter before the pizza (or similar high carb meals) as I found it helps slow digestion and spikes. I wonder it would help children to begin eating with fibrous crudities e.g. cucumber or carrot sticks?

Samantha you’re calling it a split bolus but I think for all pumps they call it an “extended bolus” you’re the only one who says split bolus 😊

Usually cooling foods high in carbs reduces the high sugar levels from food. For instance, many diabetics cook potatoes and spaghetti and then put them in the fridge for a few hours before reheating and eating them. I was surprised that frozen pizza raised your blood sugars more than fresh but it could be other factors besides whether fresh or frozen, such as the total amount of carbs, fat and protein in each pizza. Yes, pizza can usually be tricky. And I’m not going to say that I can bolus for it perfectly every single time, but one time I started eating my pizza when my blood sugar was in the 80’s and I never went higher than 104. Boy, I sure wish I could always do that. 😅

Dont use. Flour for pizza base ! That turns to sugar as it hits your blood stream !
