Mystique vs Magneto: ruclips.net/video/klz4aINGBaY/видео.html
Older Erik: I hope my younger self doesnt screw this up.
Younger Self: *nearly screws everything up*
Well, older Erik did say that they were young back then and they didn't know any better.
Tbf I think she could’ve won that.
its a great analogy of the Evolution of Magneto XD
In the future, Charles whaps Erik upside the head: “Way to go, dumbass”
I doubt Younger Erik would have even listened to Older Erik if they'd been able to communicate. Shame, that could have been a great scene between Fassbender and McKellen.
“All those years wasted fighting each other, Charles. To have a precious few of them back……..”
That line always hits me hard.
😭
My favourite.
I know how that feels
"Today was meant to be a display of your power. Instead I give you a glimpse of the devastation my race can unleash upon yours"
Contrasted with his own race being devastated
1:57 props to Sunspot here. Lost an arm and continued swinging like nothing happened. Goat behavior there.
“No more hiding, no more suffering, you have lived in the shadows of shame and fear for too long, come out, Join ME, fight together in a brotherhood of our kind, a NEW TOMORROW THAT STARTS TODAY!” Absolutely an epic speech from Eric here. You almost would think that he was the hero here
Basic common sense should have told him that his actions were going to make things 1000x worse for mutants
From a man that was built by the suffering of his parents in Nazi Germany I think that he thought this showing of power would protect his people. It showed not only the power of mutants but the restraint that they possess. He could have destroyed the world but instead he showed mercy to humans. He just wants his people to thrive. He didn’t want to destroy humanity but instead ensure a life where mutants could be happy. It’s truly a remarkable speech from a villain
@Ricardo Gutierrez After killing the President, there is no way that mutants would ever be left alone. The Sentinels would have been mass produced by every nation capable in the world and they probably would have staryed hunting mutants within a few years of this. Erik didn't think this through at all.
@@farid1406 with someone like him I believe not
plus, he got prep time when Wolverine told him about the sentinels
it only benefited him by getting out of jail way sooner
and Charles didn't have the strength to stop him
@@DVDTAPEAFKs There's definitely no way to stop all the governments and shadow branches of the governments, particularly the Super Powers from developing mutants. Only Charles with his telepathy could maybe do that and he wouldn't.
And yes, Charles is easily able to stop Eric as we saw here. Once his helmet is taken off, he's child play for Charles. Charles is the most powerful mutant and basically could end everything himself if he wanted to.
In my opinion, this moment deserves to be considered a part of "One Villainous Scene" . Such a great moment for a perfect villain.
What’s sad is that Magneto and Charles always saw each other as friends.
Professor x: "goodbye, old friend." "Goodbye, Erik."
Magneto/Erik: "goodbye, old friend." "Goodbye, Charles."
Just like MLK and Malcom X
despite their differences
It hit me hard when Magento told Pyro basically to shut his mouth
Not just friends, brothers.
Its such a beautiful juxtaposition of hearing Fassbender Erik's powerful speech to stand up and for the mutant race to take their right place on this world, to McKellen Erik's somber final words to Charles, giving a sort of regret that all those years were spent fighting for mutant kind against his best friend. Of course he doesn't fully regret it, he still stands by his beliefs, but going against Charles for so long has taken its toll.
It's sad that its taken the older Magneto so long to figure things out.
What an epic speech.I remember getting chills in cinema.
What makes this scene so good is the contrast. Erik believes he has won, yet as he brags about his victory, the horrifying consequences of his actions are being shown to us. It’s as if with this very speech, Erik is sealing the fate of the mutants and the world.
1:38 when that Sentinel uses Emma's diamond skin with the music in the background, dude goosebumps
I never even noticed that before.
Whenever I think of the X-Men I hear that theme
Not actually emma because Logan future sister in laws has the same power
It sounded a little like the animated series theme
@@user-ld8lv5py7kno, this one is emma’s. the diamond skin pattern is much closer to frost than to silverfox
He has a point but this is only going to make things worse. He's showing how evil ie dangerous mutants can be... on national television. And that's all the young Erik does in this movie. He keeps making things worse. A true antagonist
Well he was justified remember how the government weaponized the cure without Hank’s consent. Granted he was going too far but they themselves are no better.
Who was there for him? Shaw? He's not the first victim to identify with his tormentors. There are tons of them. Bandera, Bachelett, Zelensky, Blinken... He was just a kid when he was broken. He never had a chance.
@@tatianalyulkin410 Yeah Shaw and others like him created Magneto.
Even if his actions are questionable but he did the right thing to protect mutants from human persecutions such as William Stryker
Well at least in this movie in the revised timeline it helped Raven (Mystique) to bring back the mutant's image so Trask won't be able to produce Sentinels and the future can be altered. Both Charles and Erik played their role well just to prevent Raven from killing Trask
Magneto is the GOAT. Period.
1:27 I don't know why, but I find it very sweet Quicksilver has his little sis on his lap.

Very true. But her and Charles's actions showed everyone that mutants weren't all like Erik and that he was alone rather than supported by a movement.
xmen writers are some of the most dumb idiots 😂😂😂😂😂
Actually it's because Mystique shot Magneto and defended the White House.

Still my favorite superhero movie. Love Wolverine and Magneto :)
After seeing X-men 97 episode 8
I agree to Magneto
"Magneto was Right!"
X-Men 97 painted Magneto entirely as a heroic figure with one simple phrase:
“Save as many as you can…we shall not live the rest of our days wondering if we could have saved more.”
I wish more people did an in depth analysis of this superhero masterpiece. There are SOOO MANY great things in this movie. So many great scenes. So many great performances. The writing is great... poetic even. The action scenes are emotionally effective every time. Almost everything about Days of Future Past is timeless. Why can so few see it?
It’s one of the best let’s rectify the past movies out there and it’s definitely a good movie and stakes are high
Unfortunately...many ppl (not all) only focus on the fact the characters barely have their "comic accurate" (and occasionally, CHEESY) costumes in most of these films, so they don't hold it in high regard as Antman, The Marvels, Avengers etc.
Imo, *BLADE and XMEN deserve AAALLLLL the credit for laying initial groundwork for [successful] Marvel films that came since, including the earlier Spider-man films...
@@MarcusSingletaryDMV Exactly. Thank you
Why was Magneto so dapper in these movies? DOFP Magneto is *perfection*

The words of a broken man realizing the price of his ambition
Man x men are such cool superheroes they really have a true message about society which other comic stories can’t really explain as him.
I still hate that the government or Humans still wanted to exterminate the Mutants in Logan and just showed that even in the end that Magneto was right no matter what

I love how it’s not just a display of Magneto’s raw power but also his fine control.
2:27 - *"A new tomorrow, that starts today"*
.
Technically Magneto only sped up the timeline for the terrible future with this speech…. If he had succeeded anyways. Raven saving all the government workers and the President politicized that causing the future to be saved.

This movie was a masterpiece. ❤❤
2:39 this line sums up the story of X-Men and profx/magneto
RIP to the sunsot actor in real life 💙
The most frightening aspect of it all is that he is, in a way, right.
Something I didn't understand when I was younger was how much it mattered that the scenes paralleled each other. The story for "Logan's consciousness" should theoretically not parallel the time spent in the future, especially considering he's not even around anymore. But it's to kinda show the butterfly effect that Eric's ideology inevitably leads to the extinction of his race, his goals of rising up and fighting head front ultimately are self-destructive in the end.
And it's kinda sad Erik doesn't really learn anything from Wolverine which it's why he initially thought the preservation of mutant survival initially meant Mystique had to die; tbh Raven wouldn't have had a reason to go against Erik if not for self-preservation (idk if this is supposed to parallel First Class where Shaw and Erik had similar ideals but Erik needed his revenge). Although admittedly, young Charles came to the conclusion his path was incorrect because enough wasn't changing but it was the opposite in that Erik's path was the most volatile and destructive.
the parallelism is further emphasized in the following clip when Mystique is preparing to shoot Trask, at the exact moment the sentinels are about to kill future Charles. Choosing to kill Trask leads to killing Charles' ideology of ever having a future of coexistence. It's like poetry even if it doesn't really add up. I still don't get why Trask takes Magneto's spot in the pentagon because all he did was fear monger and maybe some illegal (suspected to be black op) experimentations but outside of that, Magneto has repeatedly directly endangered the US multiple times w/ the cuban missiles, involvement in jfk (ik he didn't do it on purpose), and now literally holding the entire white house hostage. They do kinda gloss over how Magneto "gets away." It's probably implied Charles froze everyone and helped evacuate Erik in the hopes he never returns to the US to be persecuted
One of the best scenes in the Fox X-Men films.
We saw how profesor X helped Charles. I would love to see how Old Erik could help Magneto.
I woulda loved that
This magneto feels most like McKellens

Who’s here after what happened to the fifth episode of X-Men 97?
They need to make Michael fassbender magneto in the marvel cinematic universe
I knew immediately that it was Mystique disguised as Nixon, which I suppose the filmmakers knew people would figure out, which is why they revealed it to the audience so quickly - no way would Nixon play the self-sacrifice card. lol

Good scene.
AWESOME 👍😎
I like the filmmaker's decision to show images of X men being annihilated while he is giving his speech about how great mutants are, how powerful and unstoppable. There is a lesson there. Treat people better, no matter how invulnerable you may think you are.
Epic
I’ve said before that the Charles meeting Charles scene is the apex of x men movie scenes. But this one is almost as good. It really is the counter to that scene. While Charles gets to speak to and learn from his older self, Erik is so clearly disconnected from the man he’s become in the future. He stokes the fear and hatred of his enemies and we get to literally see the result of it. For all his passion, he’s literally bringing about the devastation of his race. Too stubborn to see that he’s creating the very thing he’s trying to destroy. Then at the end of his big speech, we see where his fate truly lies… reaching out for his friend, dying… hoping to regain a few precious moments that he wasted on hatred and fighting. GOD THIS MOVIE IS SO FREAKING GOOD.
Sounds like a young Malcom X....much respect 🙏🏾
Cant believe this masterpiece released 10 years ago
The real hero
no he's not while yes in his own mind but he did nothing but prove to the world that mutants are bad and used his own kind as shields to further his own agenda like logan said it's gonna be only him on top of the throne and no one else

Apocalypse was so impressed and proud of Magneto's this moment.
Michael fassbender was such a badass magneto
Everyone's all gangster until Magneto puts on that helmet.
Magneto for me is the true hero of the X-Men saga, he only seeks the well-being of mutants using the same violence of humans against them, human beings will never change Magneto knows it
Magneto’s no better. He makes things worse
Dude the entire point of Magneto is to show the hypocrisy of it all. He survived the Holocaust only to become mutant Hitler who targets humans for extermination regardless of who they are.
