I love anything vintage. My grandma lives right down the road and she has a full collection of vintage barbies and ten of the originals.

Does Jen has a texture sensitivity to latex? Cause gloves, either latex or knitted, would make easier to handle the sticky gross boxes so she doesn't have to worry about touching spider webs or dead bugs
I would definitely have put gloves on! I hate touching dirty things that might have been in contact with mold or insects, it makes me super uneasy and the gloves are like a ''psychological barrier'' 😅
I know she has texture sensitivity to some goos and sticky stuff.
Avon is a thing in the US, my mom buys her makeup from a neighbor who sells it. We have a collection of glass toppers from spray bottles. I'm personally on the hunt for a Dancing Fire Barbie and a Samurai Ken.
That's awesome never would have thought of collecting glass toppers for perfume 🙂

I typically like to keep my barbies in box, but GET THEM OUT, save them from the spiders
I would recommend removing the dolls from their packaging, they deserve to be freed from their spider cages.
And they tend to get hair and cloth damage when left too long. It's best to keep them in a dark place and brush their hair out occasionally.
I do this to every doll I own that includes my holiday barbies I keep their boxes
Winter Velvet Barbie! I have her, I got given her as a kid and I recently found her again while decluttering my room. The box is long gone but I'm happy to find her again.
I definitely want to see a update when they are free and clean. The person who gifted them must thanked in a big way. What a massive gift! Maybe send her some beautiful photos of them! A hand written card always special too.

I love barbies! I have such a big collection I’m 39 yrs old and I have most of my barbies, houses, cars, and boat and much more from when I was little. Also I love giving stuff to people, to see smile to their face is the best. 🥰

The last Barbie ( Avon winter velvet) is the most beautiful and classic Barbie I have ever seen. I felt a wave of nostalgia when you revealed her 🥰 you are so lucky, regardless of the spider sacks or not, what a haul! 👍

You're so hilarious, you got a magnificent collection of Barbie Dolls in damaged boxes that wouldn't affect me at all on the dead spider sacks on the boxes or the other conditions because I love these kinds of finds to add to my collection.. 💜

At least there were zero living spiders. I'm soooooo grateful for that. Spiders are a no go for me. I really debated weather I should open that bag for months hahah.

My friend gave me the Avon Exclusive Winter Velvet Barbie because she knows how much I love 90s Barbies. She's honestly one of my favorites (she's tied with my 1991 Happy Holidays Barbie), she's so pretty and I love her dress. There's just something about the 90s faces that I love.
Oh that silhouette Barbie box from 2000 is one I'm sure I saw in stores. It's so striking it's easy to remember!

My grandmother collected the holiday and birthday barbies. This video brought back some very good memories of her thank you.
Vinegar smell is due to the dye, meaning that during processing it wasn't completely washed out. It also probably means the colors are going to fade noticeably when its washed the first couple of times.

I love barbie and I saw a lot of these at flea markets but could never afford them. Shame these weren't stored better but what a wonderful gift to a collector. You are brave to open these without gloves and a mask

How very sweet of your friend. My sister has collected Barbies since she was a child. Sadly, she lost most of her favorites in a house fire this past year. I'm hoping I can be lucky enough to find a few from the 80s to replace what she lost. My favorites were always the Bob Mackie collection. Never had the chance to get any, and I never played with or collected Barbies, but I would have those if I could have afforded them.. heh
I'm really curious to know what you will do with doubles or damaged ones. Would it be possible to do a mix and match between those from the same set to get the best items from each or maybe give some to doll artists to restore them?
I'm not positive what I'll be doing with them yet. I'll also be holding off for awhile because I don't have the time or space at the moment to even open them.
LOVED this video! I have ALL of those Barbies new in box (except Talk of the Town and the Diana doll.) My mom also sold Avon and all of those were available from the catalogue even if they weren't Avon exclusives. I also have the P.F.E. Albee doll and she is one of my favorites.

There's a store where I live called Toy Haven I believe and they have nothing but old toys. They have a whole side of the store dedicated to old and some new barbies mint in box. I wish you had that!

Couldn't agree more about collecting on boxes!! My MH dolls started to get stained/yellowed. And some funko pops as well. Even tho a clean them frequently. Kinda discouraged me from leaving things on boxes.

I have the brunette Winter Rhapsody doll and she came in a super water damaged box that I had to throw out. But I think she's really pretty I didn't know she comes in blond so that's really cool.
Some of these go for insane prices now! The millennium new years barbie is actually one of the highest priced barbies if its in its original box! Sold recently for 2,500! Love to see a video of you unboxing and fixing them up!
I’ve started getting the super poofy 80/90’s barbies for a display cabinet I have. They are mostly from when I was a tiddlywink wink in the 90s 🤣👧🏼

Awww, you make me want to go over and help with all the unpacking. I have no phobias when it comes to spiders and such. (It's probably from a childhood of playing out in fields, old barns, and forested areas near my parent's home.) You were gifted some really nice dolls but then again Barbie's wardrobe was always 👌👍❤

My great grandma had a room full of dolls barbies, baby dolls, then just dolls that were like 1 foot to like 3 feet. She didnt die she doing great she just move. She actually she's turning 90 in like a couple months.
I never had any of those Barbies, more's the pity. I didn't have the Diana doll, either. I did have a wooden puzzle of her and Charles's engagement photo (she looked very uncomfortable), and I have vague memories of watching the wedding on TV (very vague; I wasn't quite 5 yet).
Those sweaters are AMAZING. I went and looked at the site and I'm stunned by how many different licensed properties they've got! If I were rich I'd be getting one for each person in my family, because I'm pretty sure everyone would love one.
I just watched all the episodes of the crown and was so sad to learn how unhappy and awful things were for her. Mind you there were creative freedoms taken to share the story for tv but I'm sure life wasn't great at all for her. So I can imagine her picture on the puzzle not looking comfortable and believe it.
As for the sweaters they are super comfy and I want more. My eye is on the purple Spyro one atm lol

Its a fun coincidence that the day you post a video about receiving a bunch of (mostly) early 2000s Barbie dolls is the same day I bought a 2000 Star Wars Episode 1 Queen Amidala doll for my doll collection (my local comic book store must have bought someone's collection to resale, because they suddenly had a ton of still-in-box Star Wars Episode 1 toys).

Hahah it was a weird time for all of us, so don't feel bad about it. I'm glad you found it now though 🤗 I'm currently (very slowly) redoing my basement. All of my dolls are safely tucked inside totes to make sure they aren't danger of drywall or sawdust 🤗
