  • Messing around with the Jaguar mute switch whilst working on this great tune. Will get round to uploading the whole song when I’ve tidied up my playing.

It's actually refreshing to see a Jaguar with the original bridge. either it's a mustang, a tune-o-matic, or the prestigious mastery bridge.

I’ve never had a problem with the stock bridge. Stays in tune, strings aren’t popping off etc. Maybe my playing style suits it?

      @@thepennydrops. Right??
People keep saying that strings slip out of the saddles, but I've never had that problem.
      🤷‍♂️

I have a jazzmaster and didn't have a problem with strings slipping out of the saddles unless I was playing way too hard, and even at that, only, the G, B, and lower E strings. The reason why I installed a mastery bridge was because it was going out of tune fairly easily from playing, and instantly if i used the vibrato arm. Now it stays in tune very well, but the vibrato arm can't be moved as much since the bridge won't rock anymore. For me, that's fine because I hardly use it anyway.

Have you tried filing off contact points to avoid causing slip damage?

Yeah, they’re really great! I have a couple of custom shop Fenders and this is totally on par with them.
      Wish I got one sooner!

Thanks! It’s an American Original 60s Reissue, I really love it. Plays as well as any of my more expensive guitars. Highly recommend them!

Hey man so I got a jag too w a original bridge and I’ve been having so much trouble w it…. Did you shim the neck? Or what did you do to make it playable? I can either have the action low or I can keep tension I can’t do both. NEED HELP

Hey, I’ve had zero issues with mine. Everything standard and setup perfect out of the box.
If you search ‘Fender Jaguar’ set up there’s a channel called ‘Puisheen’, Mike on that channel goes super in depth on setups and shims for Jaguars. You’ll probably find the answer there.
You should be able to get it setup perfectly without much hassle though. I’m sure you’ll find the fox on that channel. Good luck.
