But now I feel apex players have grown skilled enough to use the Titanfall version of the charge rifle.

Imo I think even if they switch to using a projectile as opposed to hitscan, I think the projectile should still travel in a straight line. Just feels weird that it doesn't, and the Charge Rifle has always been sort of the odd weapon out. I do think this version of the gun is better than what we had previously, but they're also taking away what made it unique.
The projectile is still crazy fast. You’re never gonna be using it at the range shown in the clip so in practice you should barely even notice the drop.

You need to hit that charge-delayed headshot to kill and the game's overall super low time-to-kill and high average movement speed meant that was a lot harder than it sounds. Most likely due to the reverse-damage dropoff system. The gun can deal a lot of damage at long distance, so turning the hitscan laser into a projectile is more of a balance thing.

Because it has a battery charge , one and done the idea of the falloff is to do with light dissipation. Light intensity decreases with distance from source to receiving surface . It's called the inverse square law and although a bit silly it's actually very accurate and saves being absolutely Lasered from too far away without skill

To be fair to the Devs , when the game came out along with the weapon it was said that the players wouldn't be able to use it correctly due to the skill needed. But obviously as time has gone by players have got way way better. It was discussed in the very early seasons but I gotta agree with them the level of apex players has only improved in the last year or so. Plus with the light dissipation and inverse square law the drop off makes total sense and is far more realistic. Even if the idiot player base has no idea what that is and what that means 😮

Railguns are fast, but fire a block of metal. That is affected by gravity. You're saying that it should have travel time but shouldn't have bullet drop, even though that's exactly what a railgun is like? Either it's an incredibly fast railgun, so hitscan and no bullet drop, or a slower railgun with travel time and bullet drop. You can't have it both ways if you're trying to use the real world as an analog.

I am stoked for this. I wonder what a hit is gonna do for damage now. It definitely takes a way higher skill level to use this version. I HATED this gun from day one. Never liked using it and always hated kids with it. Even made a point to hunt them down and finish cancel them about a dozen times too.

This is literally the real charge rifle , apex bodged it purposely and they said it was due to the lack of skill in the early apex seasons, go play Titanfall and come back

I am stoked for this. I wonder what a hit is gonna do for damage now. It definitely takes a way higher skill level to use this version. I HATED this gun from day one. Never liked using it and always hated kids with it. Even made a point to hunt them down and finish cancel them about a dozen times too.
