You referred to "our idols" and then warn against idolization? No other comment out of the dozens I've read have gone the 'idol' route here; maybe just don't put it out there and it won't be out there, instead of poisoning the well just so you can talk about the cure.
I remember when that happened. The stage where they were was up high and Madonna was being interviewed. Then someone was throwing crap from below on the street. It was a high as fuck, attention seeking Courtney Love. Loder than said "let's bring her up" hoping for an MTV moment. Madonna Cleary said "that's not wise". So Love makes it upstairs and goes on nonsensical rant. Madonna makes a comment about Love's drug addiction. Love gets thrown off my that comment. Loder realizes he made a mistake. Madonna leaves and now Kurt Loder is stuck with a loony. But they cut the whole thing quick after Madonna leaves.
The Madonna/Courtney thing was worse than what they showed here. It was an interview with Madonna, then a shoe came flying over and they saw it was Courtney. Kurt Loder says “should we let her come up?” and Madonna said “no please don’t.” Courtney comes up and starts babbling incoherently. Madonna gets increasingly annoyed. Madonna leaves.
Robert D'Amico--This was a really tense moment and she was furious with Kurt Loder. She may still be pissed. Madonna took the low road. She has had an air of irrelevance and a English stick in her ass for over 2 decades. It was a MAC make-up compact. Not a shoe. It doesn't look like the make up was working for Love that night. What's even funnier is Courtney Love played Madonna in "Basquiat" as Big Pink. Pink Scarfed.
@@RedactedFreePress Well I'd say Madonna left the stage with far more grace then Courtney entered. Even if she did sort of flee. Some people you really don't wanna be around.
bizotically_yours83 oh no doubt, Love entered like a drunken sloppy . stepmother. This is a much longer interview & Madonna may have exited quietly but, 'she didn't exit gracefully.' She makes herself look like a snooty "im better than all females" hyper bitch. Reminded me of a child - unprofessionally name calling and feeding into media innuendo. She did the same coy, underhanded jealous crap to Gaga., instead of just being humbled by Lady Gagas influence she calls her 'reductive' (like no one has a vocabulary) she's not a nice person.
Kurt was having a private time with friend and was not in a mood to entertain random stranger. And he just said "No". What's the part of being asshole in that? Asshole
Yet, the genders were not switched. Don't get me wrong, if that made him uncomfortable, he should show it and I'm glad he did, but being a sex symbol comes with the territory of being a musician, particularly musicians in genres like Prince's. Although I find it odd he would take so much offense to it. Most would take it as a compliment and move on. If it was something that kept happening, I would understand. At that point it's basically sexual harassment. Well, gotta take a stand somewhere, I guess. Otherwise people will start thinking it's okay to talk to you that way.
Not really; recently an interviewer told Gwyneth Paltrow, "I used to fap to your mom, Blythe Danner." Gwyneth said, "Don't stop now, she's still gorgeous!" and they both laughed it off.
Poor brian. You can see how tired he was and he even said, you know I really would like to sleep. He tried to be nice and polite about the whole thing, and even when it didn't work out he was still so polite when he left.
Well when a funny looking white dude comes your way, with a weird voice and knows everything about your life and the history of black music, rappers are blown away. Nardwuar respects the music and culture. Rockers tend to pompous assholes who lack humour and take themselves way too seriously.
I don't blame him for walking out at 4:02, I'd have done exactly the same thing. That's just such an awkward and inappropriate thing to say to someones face. Had the genders been reversed it's exactly the sort of shit The View would bitch and moan about incessantly, and rightly so. But as usual, sexual harassment apparently doesn't count if it's directed towards a man.
happy birthday yeah it helps if you want to walk through your life in a fantasy world where women have special privileges and men just can't catch a break.
Exactly. It pisses me off. Men are still entitled to feel uncomfortable about unwanted sexual advances. Men can be sexually harassed and it should be taken serious, and treated equally.

And you’ll probably say that it’s *actually* because she “isn’t that good” or that it has “nothing to do with her husband” or, we can’t forget, “ShE kIlLeD kUrT!!1!!!” And the fact of the matter is that she IS good, even if her style’s not for everyone, and you don’t get to take that away from her just because you’re mad that your idol married her.

@@user-os8sq3uh4n if your a guy ,go try it see what happens
@@user-os8sq3uh4n it's still creepy asf, mate. You don't go up to people and say you want to have sex with them out of nowhere. Like, just because that person is famous doesn't give you a pass to be creepy.

*Maurice Gibb:* "I'd love to, but I don't do impressions". That was both witty and classy 👌.
Yeah, but why did they leave? What did the host say that got them upset?
Exactly, I still don't know what was said that pissed them off?,
You need to watch the entire interview. Clive Anderson was a total knob towards them.
@@ubs0 But that was his thing. He was well-known for it. If you can't handle that stuff, don't go on the show. The problem was that the Bee Gees expected fawning and didn't get it.

Prince being surrounded by annoying divorced middle aged women, no wonder he left.
That heffer was about to rape him he up and noped out.
They were talking, yelling and laughing all at the same time, so disturbing...
That comment she made was so distasteful. Imagine if a middle aged man said that to a woman the same age that prince was. Fucking hell.
Had it been their estranged husbands it would have been different
Imagine if it has been a female singer on a pannel show full of males
Can I just admire how polite Brian May was? He just wanted a straight about the band and music interview and he was too tired for anything else. A true gentlemen and truly an amazing guitar player 🤘
We have to remember that even our idols are people who deserve privacy and respect. Also idolization in general is dangerous.

_HELP ME_
I remember when that happened.
Courtney Love always looks like Ronald McDonald's drunk sister.

Start studying astrophysics.
and get Ph.D
Wow I had no idea. Impressive.
The Madonna/Courtney thing was worse than what they showed here. It was an interview with Madonna, then a shoe came flying over and they saw it was Courtney. Kurt Loder says “should we let her come up?” and Madonna said “no please don’t.”
Courtney comes up and starts babbling incoherently.
It was a make up compact she threw. Mardonna commented that " Courtney was in need of attention" Loder look dazed and confused LOL
@@RedactedFreePress
Well I'd say Madonna left the stage with far more grace then Courtney entered.

On the Prince thing, I must add the obligatory "if the genders were switched itd be an outrage" comment
Jesse Coffins good point.
You are absolutely on Point with your perspective
It's creepy as hell when anybody does it. He was right to walk off. What a bunch of perverts.
Prince was the best one. "Nope".

I'm pretty sure from what I've seen him and Fat Mike from NOFX are on pretty good terms, but that may just be an exception to the rule
Thats probably why i hardly ever see Nardwuar do interviews with anyone but rappers

In all fairness to Henry Rollins, he did just come off stage, at least give him some time before you start asking him questions, he was a lot more polite than he he could've been. Sweet Seduction Yeah she is. You just hate her because you probably believe everything the tabloids and the internet tell you. And probably because she was married to Kurt Cobain, which is an automatic target on her back. Just like Yoko Ono, Talinda Bennington, Vicki Cornell, Nancy Spungen, people just love to pretend that these innocent lambs’ wives are evil incarnate because they’re jealous or something, like these weren’t grown men capable to handling themselves and making their own choices.
