Funny enough, Halopedia lists some intriguing cut weapons for Halo CE, such as the "gravity wrench" and "microwave gun". Imagine saying those names out loud in matchmaking
@@Enderwave22 The gravity wrench is in the 1999 trailer for Halo. It was a cut covenant weapon, actually if you just look up "Gravity wrench" it's the first few results. Basically it just looks like a wrench lol
damn you beat me to it haha. I struggle with them even on normal difficulty. I did beat the game but right now I am doing LASO and let me tell you, they are DEFINITELY NOT FUN to fight on that mode
@@DylanShayne lool i liked the days when fighting a hunter was like a dance. Ironically the music that plays when youre fighting them is called "hunters dance"
There is actually 2 videos that the Vengeful Vadam did on the Halo CE Beta Build 1749. In that beta, the Flamethrower actually has a different ammo meter and appears every single Flood mission, with these levels including Flood that actually wield it. They're very interesting videos and I highly recommend watching them.
The reticle seen in the video here is actually the same one used in the beta as well. It is even cooler if you compare how it was before they scraped most of it to how it is now. I am surprised they did not use the old reticle for the new multiplayer flamethrower over the shotgun one, even though it is still in the game files.
I remember using the gravity rifle ages ago in a friend's modded CE PC server. I don't know if it was on the Xbox version, but it was in that original Gearbox port.
I like how the campaign flamethrower looks like it's shooting napalm, instead of a flammable gas like the multiplayer one. Napalm is a lot better at killing people.
what, its the other way around, the campaign one looks like a blowtorch flame while the multiplayer one will actually settle on surfaces like a sprayed liquid and will linger longer
I’d really be interested in a CE campaign mod that used some of this stuff plus modded elements to let you use every weapon in the game. A sort of Halo 1.5, if you will.
It's funny there was a rumor that went around my friend group that if you are able to get to the energy sword before it explodes in Halo 1 that you can use it. This was long before Halo 2 made its appearance so a lot of us really wanted to use that energy sword. But then we played Halo 2 and found the scarab gun. Kind of lost interest in the energy sort on Halo 1 but I'd be interested in getting those mods so that I can actually mess around with it. Kind of like a long lost childhood memory finally being realized.
Man the Gravity Rifile, the texture used isn't even for the model! I remember one of the old dev's showing off the original 3RD person Halo CE build on their twitter, back to when it was a third person shooter, and it showcased the gravity rifle. and the model looks amazing and it used that very texture in the final game! Also fun fact, the current 'flamethrower' version has unused bones and model data suggesting the barrel on the front of it could open, and rotate. So imagine if they had time to finish it? I imagine something akin to a Spartan Laser mixed with a Brute Shot grenade with an EMP effect or something. I''m sure that flamethrower is again from the 1749 build. I remember that in that version too that if something died while on fire, they dropped their weapon and run around for a bit before keeling over. The Gearbox port (and what became the PC version of HCEA currently) they reworked the weapon to what we have. You mention flood missions, and yes you are partially correct. The level the library they would even SPAWN with the weapon in hand, in fact there still there but disabled in the final game. (And yet rocket flood? Really?)
I really dont get why they didnt let you use the fuel rod in halo ce, theres only 3 covenant weapons in that game and it wouldve helped flesh out their arsenal a bit more plus its fun in multiplayer, same with the flamethrower, wouldve been fun to fight the flood with it if it wasnt cut
i must be an idiot but i forgot needler was in CE campaign cause i think its only in 5 missions also lets be honest here they had to limit some power weapon usage when the magnum one tapped everything already
@@aceskeletonne7446 i dont think its on the maw (might be one in the warthog run section), two betrayals, pillar of autumn, or the library (i dont remember any flood having needlers or snipers) but i could be wrong
I think it's just a modded in orange grunt without it's variant set. If you don't set variants it'll spawn in a random version, in classic graphics there are only two grunts, with curley and straight backpacks, but obviously in remastered graphics the spec ops gets the halo reach spec ops appearance instead, so it turns into that.
Actually in Halo CE Games for Windows u were actually allowed to use the Fuel Rod Cannon in Multiplayer. I remember playing that back then & was fun till Halo 2 released
Something wierd I noticed is that the campaign and multiplayer flamethrowers projectiles both seem to be half of the flamethrower effect. Like the campaign effect should work for the first section of the projectike then it should turn into the multiplayer version as a fireball. 🤔
I can get you/show you how to make a universal S3dpak and imeta. It would have every anniversary model and texture. It would effect loading times; however, it would fix some black box issues. Like the campaign fuel rod. There should be a 3rd person model for that. S3anyboy and I tested, and it's possible.
I don't see why the flame thrower & fuel rod couldn't just be patched into the campaign. Just port over the multiplayer versions. Would make the campaign interesting to use the flame thrower against the flood.
didn't people use to have trouble getting the flamethrower effects to work with out crashing? if that is the case Congratulations! that must be a major achievement.
can someone explain to me why the "campaign fuel rod gun" is showing as a black box when he switches to anniversary graphics when they are fine in the campaign when you see them? is this just a side effect cause its different from the MP fuel rod and he is showing us in the wrong map?
Anniversary models use templates found inside the s3dpaks. If the s3dpak doesn't contain the reference, the engine throws a default black box in. (If you're lucky) It's possible that he used a level that didn't have a fuel rod in it already.
Here’s an idea: remember the halo 3 weapon holders that float weapons at a specific orientation? What objects other than weapons can they hold that aren’t Normally used? Another: some halos have enemy vehicles with ai but no pilot. How common is this? Ex: the enforcer I’m halo 2. 3: if halo 3 flood ai were set to different factions and popcorn tried to attack/ infect a combat form of another faction, what would happen?
A video about weapons you normally can only see in third person when AI uses it .... only shown in third person. Wow what a complete bloody waste! What was the thought process here? "Yeah absolutely nobody is gonna click on that title who might be interested in how the weapon actually handles from the player's perspective".
