- Hidden in Halo 3, sometimes in plain sight, are several vehicles that you normally can't drive and that you might not have been aware of either. Let's take a look at what they are and what it's like to drive them too!

You survive the banshee crash in multiplayer because you can’t kill yourself with your momentum in MP. In campaign, you can take fall damage and slam into walls.
Didn’t know that. Cool.
Also in campaign grenades on the ground can be exploded by damage.

@@rickmarinara5179 Yeah, in campaign you can die just by falling a long way in mid air, but there's also a short window before that where you can take fall damage. It's not as formal as in Reach where you actually get stunned for a second but it does happen. If you jump off the top of a moving scarab you often take damage when you land.

The "Giant Monitor" is a perfect example of how much work Bungie put into these games. They could have simply based that entity on the security camera and have it simply pivot like the camera does when it looks around. Instead, some artist(s) spent weeks (at least!) animating it so it would move around slightly when it focuses on objects. As a result, it shows up as a friendly contact on the motion tracker when it looks around. All that work just to add a bit more flavor to the level. Incredible.

I'm fairly certain the pelicans do all have rocket pods in campaign, I'm pretty sure I've been killed by a random barrage on missions besides Sierra after betraying marines.
I wonder if an "ambient banshee" of sorts exists in halo 1, in the second mission "halo". I remember getting elites to fall out of the banshee on the trees and still couldn't drive them. I guess the alternative is they're just disabled on that level? Would love to find out.

It’s a weapon that shoots you if you stare at the monitor without moving for like 7 minutes or something. Surprised he didn’t know about that.
With the jetpack skull I hijacked a banshee on The Covenant and had a lot of fun flying around. I wish you got to use the Banshee during the campaign

Just jack one during the two big fights in the level. Eject your hornet over one and board. Eject over a friendly phantom, then jump onto a banshee. Feels badass

The giant monitor and cameras being vehicles imply that they are being driven by an invisible ai. One that has been forced to witness an endless onslaught since 2007. Unable to do anything about it.

You should check out the installation 04 map on halo reach, the one with the floating monitor in the one room, you can "swap" for its laser rifle (except you can't), would be interested to see what it's called in the game files and what the monitor version of the gun does. It's also super strange that they gave a fusion rifle to something that never attacks (as far as we know)

The wriaths in odst's campaign can also be driven using the same method as the halo 3 aa wraith method. Idk if that was known or not but that's also a lot of fun.

Now that very last Secret Vehicle to Drive was that Cut Turret Walker machine that he showcase in a previous video. It was functional vehicle but just the polygon model.

With the cameras I remember back in the day there was a modded map that the cameras were linked too that allowed you to see a live feed of in game footage like a camera would with a special tv
The aa wraith glitch actually no longer works. In mcc it used to but now the driver is invincible and can only die by having the vehicle blow up.
Recently played through the campaign with a bunch of friend and just by messing around we accidentally hijacked the aa wraith. Damn thing ripped through anything

Ambient Banshee is likely just to have the vehicle in a campaign map without risking a player hijacking it.

In halo reach, there is a single chest piece you can wear on MCC from season 5. It's called the exo ...something or whatever. It has not got a combat knife on it. I was wondering what happens when you assassinate someone without any visible knife and when u wear Emile's Kukri shoulder piece. Maybe there could be a secret assassination animation

Is it possible the weapon attatched to the monitor is an invisible laser? Mayb ethats how it tracks players. Also, mm yes, The covenant defender. The classic turret on Sandtrap.
Looks like Bungie wanted to have ball competitions at some point. Problem is, it would be weird seeing players get into a ball and the feet sticking out.

@@LitoMike it’s the egg on sandtrap. I remember seeing videos where people didn’t know what it was. I think general just showed it’s like an asset to trigger the mines in the outbounds. It’s been a while since I’ve seen this 😂
I found a way to see other Spartans in cryo pods in the first mission of Halo CE, it has white headless and green headless Spartans in OG graphics

It just now clicked in my head that you got 2 Credits in OG Halo Reach for destroying the turret on a Phantom because they programmed the Phantom turret separately and as a destroyable enemy
I feel like this guy just makes up mods and passes them off as more secrets to games he has stripped apart over the past 15 years.
While that is technically true as he has to modify some aspects of these things for them to work but if you are implying that it's all just mods made for content that's simply untrue

Forgive my nerdom, but this is fascinating. I've known some of the entity types Bungie made, but I did not know that they did this for the scenery and etc type entities.
I'm guessing it was a lot of it was done to save time. I'm assuming, especially with the sandbox guardians acting as plasma cannons. Copy and pasting code is a million times faster than re-coding. Instead of wasting time creating new entities they just use everything under vehicles code. That is kind of amazing and genius. Doubt we'd ever see this innovation and time saving maneuvers (without affecting gameplay) from 343.

Is it true that things like the Cold Storage Monitor are vehicles because that's what they have to be for the multiplayer netcode to sync them? I think I remember reading that somewhere.
the monitor has a weapon that doesnt do anything because it is constantly shooting you. It's easier to program that way
