Ok, OK, just rub it in, you saw AURORA live in concert and I didn't! lol, you know I was very happy for you. Next year will be my turn for certain! The magic of this song is, as beautiful as it sounds, it is very dark. Aurora has that ability to capture your attention that way. Thank you for revisiting a master piece performance!

For the most part, Aurora doesn't sing and write songs from her own experience. She is very emphatic and knows what's going on in the world. She reads and hears stories from her fans and acquaintances. She is very aware of her environment.
    That's what inspires her.
Of course, she also had to collect very bad memories.
Friends and schoolmates killed by the massacre in Norway with over 80 dead including many children. Killed by bombs and gunfire. She wrote "Little boy in the grass" for the bereaved.
A friend died in a car accident. For him she wrote "Why did you have to go" and sang it once live at his funeral and then never again live.
    Both songs are on youtube.

Yes, Silja is now going her own way, but Aurora has now found a replacement. In between, a male voice sang with her, her guitarist. But that didn't harmonize as well sonically as I think. Now there is another young lady up there with her. She's blonde, has a great voice, but I can't think of her name.
Also her drummer and oldest friend Magnus is no more with her, or has taken a break. He is also a producer. He didn't want to tour anymore, but the two still work together and make music together.

This was the first song of Aurora's which I saw on RUclips.
I was watching another reaction channel some time ago, one where the reactor likes to stop and go back a lot whilst discussing the voice qualities, not normally a problem for me.
When Aurora started to sing, I heard the first two words and had to stop, find the original and listen uninterrupted twice before returning to the reaction.
As for her concerts: Stay behind after the show and she usually comes out to meet and chat to the 'Warriors & Weirdos', accepting gifts, joining in selfies and group photos.
Yes, Silja is pursuing her own career but Aurora has the backing from other very capable singers, Amalie Holt Kleive and Thea Wang to name two.

Great re-reaction :). Aurora has something in her voice and expressions that I am always (re)impressed when I listen to her. I love her music (and know her songs very well) but still I sometimes even 'forget' how it sounds great :). And i am always enjoying her music. I am also always impressed by her lyrics (and English is not her first language!).
And I am sure (as far I can be sure) that is it not about her personal experience. She is big empath and it is personal for her but in the different way. She really cares about things/topic she singing about.
Ps. I also like floor sound :)

Hi Bob, first of all "Merry Christmas". I still get goosebumps from this song when AURORA and Silja create these fantastic harmonies together. And I've heard that song a lot, a lot, a lot....
AURORA is currently taking a completely new approach. She is in a virtual game "Sky: Children of the Light" and gives a concert there. There is a video in which she announces this with the creators of the game.
There are now recordings of the concert on RUclips. It's almost an hour long. I think it shows what AURORA wants to show and express with her music: "If you save nature, you save yourself, you save mankind". I find the order of the songs and the "worlds" they are in to be remarkable. Each song is a different fantasy world.
The concert and the "game" are free. If I understood correctly, you are one of the visitors of the concert and you can express your feelings. And you see what the other visitors are doing.

Hey Bob. Your revisit of this wonderful AURORA classic was great. With the majority of AURORA' s work she likes to leave the meaning / message open to the individual's interpretation. Her songs require thought. Yes, Silja does require a lot of praise for the great vocals she added over the years. Hopefully one day they'll sing together again. Great revisit Bob. Thanks.

"Silja Sol Dyngeland" is her full name but she goes by "Silja Sol", and "Sol" means "Sun" in Norwegian (and Swedish and Danish). She was with Aurora from the start when her "band" formed in Feb 2014 for the first real concerts, but has unfortunately left Aurora around May 2021 to pursue her own career (she just released an album in Oct 2022, but she only sings in Norwegian I think, I do not really know her music). Aurora and Silja are still friends, there were recently social media pictures of the 2 drinking together 🙂
Here is another performance of 3 songs with Silja, where they are doing amazing harmonies in all 3 songs. It is a Christmas performance from Dec 17th 2020, and I think it is the 5th last performance ever with Silja, I think she only joined in 4 single song performances after this one, one the next day on Dec 18th on TV and then 3 in the Spring of 2021 before she left.
    youtu . be / jQH2iiBmnqA
First song "Stjernestøv" (Stardust) at 00:00 is in Norwegian, it is from a Norwegian childrens TV show in 2020, and it was not written by Aurora. Then there is a short interview in Norwegian (CC for Subs), and at 6:54 they sing "Exist For Love", and then at 12:00 the "Christmas" song (kind of) "Walking In The Air" from the Christmas cartoon "The Snowman".

A timeless Masterpiece. And a quiet dark one too. Silja and Aurora were doing Magic here, too bad they go separate ways now after Silja´s decision to concentrate on her own career. I haven´t seen this performance for at least 2 months now, so thank you for the re-reaction. :) Aurora´s lyrics definately encourage to find your own interpretation, and sometimes even Aurora herself changes her opinion of the meaning over time. I saw her in a concert in Germany this year and it was great, but I would love to see her perform in a more intimate setting.

I believe this is the first time someone has revisited an Aurora reaction, so you're making Aurora reaction history here :)
I love this song and particularly this performance of it. It's one of the performances that turned me on to her as well. You saw her in concert before me, but I've now been to three concerts with her and they just keep getting better! Aurora changed my life. I've even met her now :)
It's pretty common I think, that people feel like she must have personally experienced whatever she sings about, but that's because of her ability to feel it and live it and becuse of her sincerity. So in a way, to me, that's almost more magical.
Have you done Dance on the Moon yet? I'd love to see your reaction to her performance of it at the exist for love sessions :)

Can never get enough of this beautiful song and performance, even though it’s a very sad song ❤️
The song is inspired by domestic violence, and when she sings the ooooo part, which is hauntingly beautiful, I’m quite sure she comes back to haunt him
This is what she said about the song:
“‘It Happened Quiet’ and ‘Churchyard’ - which is about someone that is stronger… a grown up with a child, a teacher with a student - someone that takes advantage of their power and uses it in the wrong way. It’s inspired by domestic violence.” AURORA
“In my more delusional stories like ‘It Happened Quiet’ and ‘Churchyard’, the victim comes back to haunt the one that hurt them.” AURORA
But as you said, she leaves it for us to interpret the songs the way we want🤗
Unfortunately Silja isn’t with Aurora in her band anymore, they’re still friends though.
Silja is pursuing her own music career😊
Aurora rarely write songs about herself
I think the most saddest song by Aurora is the unreleased “Why did you have to go”
She wrote it after she lost a friend in a car accident in 2014, she performed it in her funeral😢❤️
Maybe you could react to it?👍
You know what Aurora says:”You can cry!”💕

I don't know how you pronounce Silja (Silja Sol... and she's borne a 13th of arpil as i am), but that's how you spell it.
    Unfortunately, Silja left Aurora's band.
They were clearly perfect together, but we all have to follow our own path, don't we ?
Isn't that one of the things Aurora is trying to communicate us?
The cracking floor gives the song a rawness and therefore a purity and authenticity, as well as a calming vibe, and intimacy.
