Hello, I have a question regarding ballet slippers. I have a pair of new canvas ballet slippers from Capezio,, the hammani split sole I got fitted a couple of weeks ago with the shoe room in Toronto and the gentleman I tried on a couple of different pairs and the pair that I have he said fit me perfectly so in ballet class last Sunday, I noticed doing the centre work. I could doing a pirouette. I could feel my ballet slipper, slipping off like the side of near my arches like they are getting loose andI don’t know why because my toe was just like right at the end of the shoe so that kind of worried me do you think my shoes are too too small or too big sorry I just wanted to know what you thought. Take care.
Hi ! Thanks for your question. From what you've described, it sounds like the slippers might be a little too big. When you're doing movements like pirouettes or working on demi-pointe, the shoes should stay securely on your feet, and if they're slipping off your heel, that's usually a sign that they may not fit as snugly as they should. It's possible that your heel might be a bit narrower than the shoe's design, especially since the Capezio Hammani doesn't have drawstrings to adjust the fit. If the slippers are slipping off during movement, I would recommend going back to the store for another fitting to explore options that might fit your foot shape better. You could try slippers with a drawstring or even a different brand or model with a better fit for your arch and heel. I hope this helps, and best of luck finding the perfect pair! 😊
@ hello thank you so much for the information. That’s definitely helped me. I do have another pair of ballet slippers. They’re from the shoe room as well. They are wear moi and they fit like a glove. I just thought I’d try like Capezio slippers. I will have to go back to the store and see if I can get a smaller size. Maybe I’m not sure so I guess I’ll wear my other slippers. In the meantime thank you so much. You’re a beautiful dancer and a wonderful teacher. I love your videos and I’m learning a lot. Thank you.
