So...Sonic Origins, huh? That Super Sonic theme sure is something, but I couldn't critique it without giving it a shot myself. This is that video. I wrote a new Super Sonic theme for Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and here is how I made it!

This is an awesome creation, though there is one thing that bothers me about it: the transitions at 15s and 36s are rather jarring to listen to. I would suggest seeing if you can smooth out the change there so it isn't so "unexpected".

I tried to replace the final boss music with the one from Siivagunner but idk how to loop
ALMOST perfect, however you may've failed on what you said with "It could've been written in 1994" since it couldn't, SEGA would have to pay Masato Nakamura for the rights to remix the "Theme of Sonic The Hedgehog" track, which they didn't want to do right after they agreed to part ways on good terms.

Nice job! This is the same process capcom might've used for sigma's 2nd phase in mega man x6. Its a mashup of base form sigma in x1 and neo sigma from x2
Literally smiled when I heard the full song, it's like you made a perfected version of any Super Sonic theme, really enjoyed this video.
Really loved this theme when I first listened to it, it just brings pure classic Sonic the Hedgehog energy and it just brings joy to my soul!

3:58 the funny thing is that in the credits, it has the sonic 3 a.i.r. credits, meaning hr is using sonic 3 air instead of origins
I didn’t own Origins at the time, but I would’ve recorded S3AIR anyway. It’s superior in many ways, including music. And I can run it natively on my Mac. :P
@@ArtisIan thats cool, i also use air instead of origins and i dont own origins because im not paying for a scam like this, its just a compilation of games from the ninties remade for the ground up, why that instead of just use decompilations and oxygen engine, modding them, and make a script that works like origins
This sounds great! And I'm SO relieved that someone made a new Sonic 3 & Knuckles Super Sonic theme that actually incorporates some of Sonic 3's Title theme as well! I'd LOVE to hear a Super Theme for Sonic CD next, since despite searching high and low, there's nobody who has actually done such a task yet!

This is fantastic. Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was for some reason. It sounds exactly like a 90s Genesis song.
this is perfect! the only thing left would be to speed it up just a bit, to portray that feeling of "I HAVE GRINDED PAINFULLY THROUGH SPECIAL STAGES AND NOW I HAVE ACHIEVED BENEVOLENT GODLIKE POWER!!!!!!"

I love it, and it blows the Origins version out of the water. One critique though, and I'm no composer, so take this with a grain of salt, but it lacks that sense of urgency once the Sonic 3 portion starts. Super Sonic is on a time limit, but this song feels like you don't have to worry about reverting and can afford to take your time.
I always wished the games just added some instruments and sped the stage music up, like a combination of speed shoes and riding Yoshi in Mario World.
I think it's good and is just more of a mashup of themes from other Sonic tracks, but I think it needs more time for transitions to the separate themes to have a better flow, kinda what the Sonic Symphony kinda done.
It could of been cool if you added some Sonic Spinball elements to the soundtrack or even the 8 bit Sonic games at the time, and even CD as well.
But I think it is pretty good, but I feel there should be more original music with the whole satisfying powerful feel to match the tracks that were reused for this track, and I think it could of have the Sonic 2 Super Sonic theme in there as well.
I was about to say something with the Sonic 4 Super Sonic theme being added, but it was released more than a decade from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, so that one is out. But then again, it would be cool if there was a separate video that can make a mashup from little snippets of Super Sonic themes from all of the 2D Sonic games, including the handheld ones and etc. :)
But I think you did a fine enough job for doing it. It indeed does replaces the official Sonic Origins version, but I feel it can be as cool as the Sonic Mania Super Sonic theme with enough thought and effort put into it. :)

Maybe you could make an origins plus update variant by adding the Sonic 3 Hidden Palace theme, the unused track theorized for Hidden Palace in Sonic 2, and add the Sky Sanctuary theme in there too.

I appreciate your hard work, it sounds nice, but the Song contains a little bit TOO much. It would fit better for the Credits becaus it sounds more like the happy end of an long lasting adventure. But anyways nice job 👍

Your song is good. Honestly, awhile Sonic 4 ep 1 and 2 considered bad, I like the second episode better than the first. Honestly, the song in Sonic Origins feels like it fits perfectly with Sonic 3&K on how I see, or hear it, because it brings the essence of the title screen, and invincibility song to the point that it feels like the song fits with the 3&K title. The proper genesis covers are just as good but it like the final product of the song that they used for the game. It’s just my opinion and you don’t have to like it or agree with it or respect it because it’s your choice if you want to or not. Heck, despite Sonic 4 ep 2 being considered as a bad game, I had still fun playing it on mobile.
It’s pretty good but it could use some more speed in the start cause you know you’re basically a god when you go super or hyper

Pretty good, but the transition from the Sonic and Knuckles motif to the grand fanfare portion sounds kinda clunky

I heard the words "Sonic 4 Soundfont" and I fucking died inside. Also the Sonic 1 theme bit would definitely have to be excised for the final.

i do think if the themes you chose to take cues from were more remixed like for 2 and manias super themes it would be better. Other than that, its great

my only critique with this theme is that it doesn't really sound as badass as the original and instead it focuses way too much on being heroic instead soo 8/10
also the sonic origins transformation theme is incredible even if it uses different instruments than the rest of the ost and i will die on that hill armed with nothing but a sack of wet mice.
Do you think you could tell me where you got the FM/Genesis instruments from, I just got DefleMask and I have been really wanting to make some custom Sonic music, I just haven't been able to find any of the FM/Genesis instruments online that would work with DefleMask. If you could reply to this comment with a link to where you got the FM/Genesis instruments, it would be greatly appreciated. :)

PSG on Genesis in fact is not wired to output stereo. Only on Game Gear was this done.

Hmmm interesting but i think its good but its not something that would feel like it fully fit's into it however i do understand what you whent for i think the order of the motifs is what's actually holding it back here
Personally I'd use the already existing beta song as a base to invoke a feeling of a calm but very much imposing power

I don’t think it flows well between the sonic and knuckles intro to sonic 3 intro. That section just doesn’t fit. And when the pitch goes up at the part that replicates the game’s ending went up too much. I think the part that goes after was either unnecessary or not done right either. The sonic & knuckles and sonic 3 parts were good and the instrumentals (sound choice) were spot on, but the overall composition doesn’t flow well with each other. As a musician myself, I understand you well though and I’m not talking out of my ass. I respect you making something original and better than origin’s version

Copeland, I'll give ya a subscribe if it turns out good. If not, don't bother asking me to sub. Only reason I'm asking for that is because the song itself, while pretty good, is very short before looping again, and I hate it.
