    I retired a couple years ago. Just started getting back into plants. I just planted a peace lily in LECA. Then I planted a black velvet acacia in pin. I hope they do well. I love listening to you. You have the most calming voice. I have problem with stress. Listening to you calms me. I am learning so much from you. Some people aren’t very nice. Glad to see you moving some of your Alocasia to Pon. The ones I moved recently are doing well, except my Hilo Beauty. It got very mad at me. My Thai constellation is also very happy in Pon. I will gradually move all my philodendrons and monstera over too as I need to repot. An added bonus is no fungus gnats!

    I use the grow 3.0 poles just like the previous models. Having the vines grow on the outside. I’m choosing the 3.0 for plants I plan to do multiple chop and props on and use the 2.0 for plants I’m just planning on growing and extending.
    My interpretation of the 3.0 is so you can open to remove existing vines roots when you’ve chopped the vine without having to undo the whole pole. Maybe I’m wrong???
    I also fill them with moss first but start clicking the clasps together from the middle.

      Roots kinda grow all up and down the pole so I honestly don't really get the point. I dunno maybe it's just me 🙈 If one vines grows over top then it won't open and you end up cutting roots anyway?!

    Hi🩷 I would recommend you do rinse out your pon because it is really dusty and it can clog up. You can also just flush it after you’ve potted the plant up for the first couple of waterings. That will also help the roots get used to a semi-hydro set up 😊

    • @jacquelinedaniels87
      @jacquelinedaniels87 Год назад

      But the bag specifically says not to rinse? Do you find the rinsing helps

    • @AnaC17
      @AnaC17 Год назад

      @@jacquelinedaniels87 I personally prefer to rinse it because otherwise, it becomes muddy at the bottom (in my experience). You also want to flush once in a while to avoid mineral buildup.

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  Год назад

      Thank you! I initially rinsed it with the first alocasia I potted into it because it looked dusty but someone commented I shouldn't rinse it and couldn't really find an answer for sure. I'll probably end up rinsing it through over the next couple waterings! I appreciate it! 🥰

    When Wildfern uses these types of poles, she just adds from the top and uses a chopstick to pack the moss in. Might be an easier “hack” to get the moss in.

      They're in stock on amazon! They might have been out recently but I just checked this morning and I saw them on there. I used a greening pin but it doesn't work that well with the plastic ones. The 3.0 is supposed to clasp around the vine as it grows so you won't need a clip with them.
