    I always learn from your videos. Today’s lesson was wet stick propagation, which I will put to good use. Lately I’ve been propagating quite a bit with good, but not perfect, results but then perfect is not a realistic goal although it is fun to try. You are most definitely a Plantologist Extraordinaire. Thanks for the video.

      You're welcome! I love wet sticks because I usually just throw them in a container like this and forget about them for a while lol. The wrap keeps moisture in humidity in so I don't have to mess with it that often. I usually see growth in a couple months or so!

      you'll want to freeze it! The inflo will only last a week or so once it moves past the pollen phase before it starts to yellow and die off. Just take a little paintbrush or makeup brush and brush the pollen off onto some aluminum foil and tightly secure in a ziplock bag. It should lasts 6 months to a year in the freezer.

    I think I already know this answer but fungus gnats are making me insane!! I have mosquito bits in all my pots. Those would kill the microscopic worms that eat the eggs, right?

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  11 месяцев назад +1

      I’m not sure how BTI affects nematodes but I would honestly skip BTI. It’s really not that effective because the gnats end up multiplying again. I was very consistent with it for months and it just became a hassle to soak and if gnats got on one pot that I was late watering with it then the cycle happened again. Nematodes changed my life. I have a nematode dedicated video that shows how I use them. Make sure you’re using better quality soils as well because some brands have larvae in their mixes so when you go to repot one and water it the gnat cycle happens. Adults live about 8 days and can lay 200 eggs. Use sticky traps to catch as many as you can. Less adults around means less eggs.
