Repotting my manjula on to a self-watering moss pole + other plant chores + plant shopping!

  • I really went into this week's video without any sort of plan whatsoever, so this video is just going to be me taking you along with me in all the planty things I do! The self-watering pole has been working great so far, so if it continues to work well for my manjula I'll do a more concise how-to video, and I won't be wearing a wrinkly t-shirt when I make that one 😌

I like these casual videos when I'm doing planty things like moss removal and potting up or cooking. Lately I've been doubting the efficacy of moss poles because they all dry out so damn fast in my super arid climate, like 3 hours a damp pole is already starting to flake everywhere 😬 I'm so glad you showed another version of moss poles that 1) doesn't shed as much 2) keeps in the dampness and 3) looks cuter than standard poles. Thanks for linking the materials!

My favorite time to watch planty RUclips videos is when I'm getting ready in the morning. I'll have my phone on the table next to my makeup mirror so I can glance over to see what's happening. That with morning coffee is my daily "me time". I need some supports for the few climbers I have and I really like the look of the ones you made (not a fan of moss poles). I have everything but the PVC. So that will be my next project 👍

Love the idea of pollinating and growing seedlings from your own plants, but it sounds like it's taken a lot of patience. I get antsy just waiting for cuttings in my prop box to root! Your little forgetiis are adorable 🪴 I ate spaghetti for dinner while watching your video, then petted my dogs--a very relaxing Sunday evening!

This was super informative, thank you!! I'm curious whether the wicking rope worked well for you? I am making some of my own D-shaped moss poles this week and might try it. I always find the bottom of my poles stay damp for too long, while the tops dry out too quickly

Really enjoyed this video! Thanks for taking us along on your trip to the garden centre. It’s nice to see what’s available in other parts of Canada. Dischidia Major is one of my wish list plants, very hard to find here in Toronto. I'm super curious to hear how you like this moss bole in a few weeks/months. It looks like it could be fantastic! For me, I was cutting up VSOH propagations, mixing up soil+amendments and putting on lotion every 10 minutes because high desert life is like that in the winter.
