I've lived in the area for my whole life and I can tell you a good chunk of what the stores used to be. @ 0:12 that was a massage parlor for awhile but it closed down. @ 0:23 that was a Claire's. @ 0:52 the store y'all pointed at was a Hallmark store. @ 1:03 there was briefly an arcade in there but it didn't last long (If I remember correctly the owner or a close relative passed away). @ 1:18 you can see what used to be an FYE store, later it became a "Chinese dollar store" and eventually became a bin store selling mostly Amazon returns and goods like that. @ 1:22 the store on the right was used by the local model train club, then it became a bounce house playground owned by the same person that owned the previously mentioned arcade (Closed for the same reason). @ 1:31 the store on the right used to be a Radio Shack. On the left that store was C&C Market Research, they still operate in the mall still near the Bean Armory gun store you mentioned. @ 1:41 The green store used to be the Game Time arcade, then it became a bin store. On the left that store used to be a branch of the Alan Jay automotive network. They used to sell new and gently used cars out of that space. I remember as a kid walking down that part of the mall and seeing cars and vans parked in the hall on display (My parents funnily enough bought a used Pontiac Bonneville at that store. Straight ahead where the bricks are, used to be Kmart. @ 4:25 there was a jewelry store there once, then it became a computer repair shop, and most recently it was a tobacco shop. The Planet Fitness used to be a restaurant and a bunch of other stores as well that got consolidated into one space. Bean Armory's location oddly enough used to be an "underage" "kid friendly" club (It wasn't there for long). I hope this information is somewhat useful to someone.

Its sad to see what has come for that mall. I remember going there as a little kid and where that brick wall is used to be a big Kmart that they are turning into some storage unit place. Also that one empty area with the green pillars next to the old kmart was once an arcade called gametime. They closed down around 2018-2019 i think. And the kmart shut down around mid 2017. It hits hard every time i go back to that mall because i know it will never be the same. Nostalgia hits most when i see the empty arcade and the outside of the now gone kmart. 😢

I lived in Sebring from 2005 to 2007. At the time, the mall was thriving. I haven’t been back in 14 years. I’m sorry to see it in this condition, but at least the theater is still open.

I remember when my parents moving down to Inverness Florida from New York in 1999. Their entire area ten years before pretty much didn’t exist. All the greatest generation and silent generation were retiring there. Everything seemed brand new but there wasn’t a thriving industry. The whole economy was for the retirees. They’d build these malls and no one went there. There was one very unique mall with a canvas like circus top. Crystall River Mall? Sears, JC Pennies and a Belks. Smallest anchors I ever saw. No one ever went there. You’d get some retirees doing mall walks because it’s too hot outside. Almost no young people. Its’s now closed.

The owners of the mall refuse to lower rents for the most part, so a lot of businesses left. Near the sealed up Kmart, used to be an Arcade that was popular.

I live in Sebring. The mall opened in 1992. It went down hill when parents dropped there kids off so the mall can baby sit them and it ran off the patrons. The mall did it to themselves

The Eagle Ridge mall in Florida was in a similar state. It's the closest mall next to this Sebring one

I remember when it opened. It is so sad. The roof of KMart caved in about a year ago. And no, we never had a Disney store.
I believe, I heard, JCPenney was used for Covid testing. Not sure. I left in 2019.

I was actually at south hills village today. It’s actually still surviving. This mall looks like in good shape with outdated color scheme😅. Enjoyed the video . Keep up the good work.

It’s Florida. Indoor malls are perfect for Florida with the weather the way it is. Why oh why are they dying? They should be thriving!!

They made their first video outside of PA I think… And yes, that’s probably a planned Century IV Mall.

Cool Video. Unfortunately, malls aren't the popular places they once were for a variety of reasons. Mostly is online shopping, Amazon, Ebay, Walmart, etc. It does look like that mall was a great place at one time. Thanks!

An awesome video! It's really sad and unfortunate that indoor shopping malls are dying or already dead. Are you on vacation in Florida and decided to film and urban exploration? If you are on vacation, I hope that you have a safe and enjoyable vacation. Have a safe trip back home when you return home.

@@cpexplores5483 Thanks for your reply. I hope that you're having a great vacation. As for Florida, a friend of mine says the mosquito is Florida's state bird. I have 2 friends who live in Springhill, Florida, which is located on the west coastal side of the state, near Homasosa Springs. They're originally from Weirton, WV, where I live. I'm a lifelong resident of Weirton.
