  • Lakeshore Mall is a regional, enclosed shopping mall located in Sebring, Florida, United States. It opened in 1992. Lakeshore Mall comprises 495,972 square feet (46,077 m2) of retail space, including five anchor stores: Bealls, Belk, JCPenney, and Sears (which was added in 1999). The mall also features more than sixty-five stores, as well as a food court and movie theater. In late 2007, the mall took the unusual step of requiring all high-school aged and younger youths to leave the property by 9pm.
The drawing power of the Mall has attracted the attention of other retail builders. Plaza By The Mall has been built on an adjoining property attempting to cash in on some of the recognition.
On November 2, 2017, Sears Holdings announced that Kmart would be closing as part of a plan to close 63 Sears & Kmarts Nationwide. Kmart plans to close sometime in January 2018. This closing doesn't include the Sears at the mall only the Kmart.

That mall brings a lot of memories. I remember going to the theater as a kid and the Kmart, and the Little Caesars inside the Kmart had popcorn and Icees, hamburgers and hot dogs. Sadly that Kmart is gone, the Sears is gone, and the JCPenney is gone. There was also a Lubys Cafeteria my grandmother loved which has been closed for 20 years now. It's now a Planet Fitness. Originally in the food court, the left most stall was a Sbarro Pizza, second was A&W, then that Chinese, and then something else I forget. At one point it was a Subway. Next to the theater was Linda's Yogurt and the coffee shop was originally a Barnie's Coffee, then Starbucks, then back to Barnie's. Most all of the food places closed in the late 2000s and early 2010s sadly, which is when the mall started to decline.
In the parking lot where the Outback Steakhouse is was originally a Shoney's.
That big round area with the glass dome above originally was a water fountain that people would throw pennies in.
The Sears was not original to the mall, it was added around 2000, moving from a smaller strip mall location.

My Mom worked in Kmart for many years here. I would roll into town Friday afternoons and meet her in Kmart, we’d go have something to eat for lunch in the mall. Sad to see so many malls suffering the same fate.

The tiled floor is the same
No arcade, no k mart no people.
Renember in the early 90s it was packed when they build it
But you know old people hated young people their would always complain. But still i loved it. No economy too many ole thinking.people no industry sad.. but in a way its frozen in time

Many malls are failing and it’s due to Amazon and sites like it. I’m not faulting people for shopping there, I do too. But no one can compete with them for inventory and speed. It’s a shame because the mall was more than a place to shop, it was a place to go hangout with your friends. No people rather text at home I guess.

Just love the 80s aesthetics of this place. I need to come back out there again.

TheRetroDudeAbides it is terrible. More than half the stores are closed down. And it is empty and gross. I live in the city. And I got here for the movies. Worse mall ever

Ah, the nostalgia. I grew up in Sebring and recently was showing my daughters this video explaining what life was like in Highlands County. Crazy to see how dead it is, especially the part of the mall where K Mart was.

I worked at the Foot Locker there when it first opened. I had a lot of fun there and liked all the people I worked with. That was the last job I had before I joined the Marine Corps and moved out of town (actually out of the country). Good memories.

Six years later and this mall has consistently gotten worse in terms of tenant space. Almost all of the big tenants have left or relocated besides for Belk, Bealls, GameStop and Rack Room Shoes staying.

This mall hasn't changed a bit since the 90s. Back then it fit and had some charm but now it's screaming tackiness and need for a rennovation.

It's still open. But it's very dead nowadays in terms of tenants.
