    I've used Ableton for years pretty much exclusively in arrangement view as I'm old AF and I grew up on cubase. For some reason this simple video has finally made me realise how to use session view properly

    awesome video. Ableton Noob here... still very confused why many youtube creators seem to only use arrangement view... I find it confusing to follow their tutorials

    About the red line showing on your session view. I've seen this multiple times and I wonder what it is and how you make it appear on your screen.

    Thanks for the tutorial.I use session view for sketching, then its scenes for arranging, transitions and clip automations included.I find it more intuitive and fun.I think that's what live was being used for in the beginning. For me vertically makes more sense.(my opinion).Reminds me when I started ,using trackers like FT2.

    I’ve noticed that in some of the other videos I’ve watched, the demonstrators get session view and arrangement view backwards and start calling one, the other. Hence, confusing the viewer.

    Nice Tutorial ! I also have Ableton Live 10 Suite and Logic Pro X and I'm just looking for the workflow. Logic is very high quality, but especially for House production Ableton Top and the session is super fast and creative...I can finish all the building blocks from the track and then into the arrangement you mean?
    But I find the same with FL Studio ...a super workflow, how do you see it?

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  4 года назад

      Totally agree with the workflow in ableton live. Ive never actually used fl studio but it looks like that interface is also helpful with rapidly getting ideas up and running.

    If i have 3 clips say C1, C2 and C3 is midi track 1
    And
    3 clips say C4, C5 and C6 in midi track 2
    .
    Is it possible to set the sequence of clips to be played in my final mix...?
    Say for example C3, C4, C1, C6, C5 and lastly C2...
    .
    I haven't yet understood how clips behave by default and then how to change the default way if any...
    .
    Many thanks in advance from Pune, INDIA

    Ableton seems to be extremely versatile from the videos that you’ve shown me. It’s definitely a DAW to consider getting once i get enough money and ditch SONAR cakewalk

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah for your applications in electronic music i'd highly recommend it. Its quite pricey to get the Suite version, and they don't do free upgrades. So if budget is very tight Logic Pro X is a fantastic option, and then you can spend money on some dope plugins and VST's.

      @@AndrewSouthworth for House Music (Deep House) is Ableton better and faster than Logic?

    • @AndrewSouthworth
      @AndrewSouthworth  5 лет назад +2

      Its probably the better choice to use Ableton for house music. Theyll both work, but most edm artists use Ableton.

    • @AndrewSouthworth

      Fl studio looks great, but ive never tried it. Many big artists also use that, especially in the hip hop world it seens to be very popular.
