So at this point in the game, I had transferred all my Pokemon over from Moon, which includes the Empoleon I've had since Diamond, which was my first Pokemon game. I got to the Cyrus fight and took out most of his Pokemon with my Lycanroc and Mudsdale, but his Dialga took out my Mudsdale before my Mudsdale could get a piece of it. No big deal, I send out my lvl 100 Empoleon to destroy it. Dialga happens to be my favorite Pokemon, by the way, because it was the first legendary I ever caught. So, thinking about that eventually led to me realize I was now fighting Cyrus with the exact same Pokemon I used to fight him 9 years ago. Then that's also when I knew not skipping USUM was worth it.
its still amazing to me that pokemon from even gen 3, all the way back in 2004, can still be sent to (through a tedious process) all the way to ultra sun and moon today
and then the story repeats itself i just imagine like a anime scene where the protagonist changes between diamond and sun protagonist with cirus having a breakdown of how this is so familiar even he doesnt seen this pokemon or person(in his the protagonist dont exist)
Cyrus’s whole deal was he thought the human spirit (in the Pokémon universe comprised of Knowledge, Willpower, and Emotion) was incomplete, largely due to the third part, and his goal was to create a new universe in which the human spirit was perfect and emotionless, Cyrus is basically a machine emotion wise, relying only on logic

Funny story: One time I broke Diamond with cheats, and I got to the top of the mountain where Dialga is supposed to be, and i found Cyrus, seemingly frozen in time, and I couldn't even talk to him. I thought this was Dialga punishing him for trying to destroy the fabric of space and time, and so he was frozen in time for all eternity. Shit's dark.

Dude Ghetsis almost tricked a whole region into releasing their pokemon so he could rule it like a king. He even tricked his his adopted son into catching a legendary pokemon so he could have an advantage. Also in B2/W2 he tries to kill you and freezes a whole town

The versions of the team leaders that appears with Team Rainbow Rocket are all part of alternate timeline where they actually won. So Cyrus was dragged away from his new universe. This is confirmed by the fact that they are all carrying their cover legendaries.

for real, the harsh synth instrumentation and drum and bass-esque drum loop with the added percussion give so much intensity and life to this theme. the remakes just sound like a sanitized reorchestration. it's not a very interesting theme in comparison to this one.
I honestly got so emotional when I started fighting Cyrus because when I was only 10, I owned Pokémon Diamond (My first Pokémon game) and beat Cyrus. I am now 20 years old and currently own Pokémon Platinum among other Pokémon games. This fight and track really hits hard. Being so young and fighting against Cyrus made me emotional back then, and it makes me just as emotional now.

The beat going on in the background of this track gives me serious Battle Revolution vibes, which is just perfect. It's like a nice little extra homage to Gen 4.
My first main series Pokémon game was Diamond, so the battle with Cyrus hit my Nostalgia buttons harder than any other Pokémon battle has in a long time. And this is an EPIC remix to his theme. Wow.

The whole post game was purposely a nostalgia trip, GAME FREAK made it that way because all of the Pokémon games were on handheld devices. This would be the last Pokémon game played on a pure handheld. Switch is a hybrid console, meaning it isn't the exact same thing as a 3DS. As for me, the fight with Maxie in Pokémon Ruby (not omega) was my favorite, and experiencing that whole adventure again in Omega Ruby was so amazing. Battling Maxie again was so amazing, and Cyrus was a complete different story. I think Cyrus is the best villain, but White will always be my favorite game. Just remember that this Cyrus did what he wanted to do. He actually created the emotionless universe and was then yoinked out of it to fight a child because some outdated team leader told him to.

If you listen closely a bit, you’ll hear the opening melody of Dialga and Palkia’s Battle Themes in the original Gen 4 Games. Kinda fitting if you ask me, since now that he has both the gods of Time and Space at his command, he basically stole their melodies and added it to his own song, representing how much control he has over them.

I saved my Blaziken that I've had since Emerald version. Transfered it to Diamond, and in the past 10 years moved to Black 2, X Version, Omega Ruby and finally to Ultra Sun. It was a Hell of a run.
Hey, listen, this is killer. I don’t know which version I like more because of nostalgia purposes, but that futuristic feel to it was just designed for this song, I gotta say. And the best part is definitely 0:55-1:02, that beat is just too slick.
I love all of these new remixes of boss themes. They are great. But I've got to say Cyrus' and Lysandre's are just excellent. Not only do they just improve on their original counterparts they also add certain elements to it that makes it seem as if those two in particular are more than just a threat. You can tell that they have done horrific things. Which makes sense considering one eradicated the universe and made a knew one without emotions and the other killed pretty much everything on the planet without mercy.

I honestly got so emotional when I started fighting Cyrus because when I was only 10, I owned Pokémon Diamond (My first Pokémon game) and beat Cyrus.
I am now 20 years old and currently own Pokémon Platinum among other Pokémon games.
This fight and track really hits hard. Being so young and fighting against Cyrus made me emotional back then, and it makes me just as emotional now.

The whole post game was purposely a nostalgia trip, GAME FREAK made it that way because all of the Pokémon games were on handheld devices. This would be the last Pokémon game played on a pure handheld. Switch is a hybrid console, meaning it isn't the exact same thing as a 3DS. As for me, the fight with Maxie in Pokémon Ruby (not omega) was my favorite, and experiencing that whole adventure again in Omega Ruby was so amazing. Battling Maxie again was so amazing, and Cyrus was a complete different story. I think Cyrus is the best villain, but White will always be my favorite game. This comment was long, and kind of off-topic.

If you listen closely a bit, you’ll hear the opening melody of Dialga and Palkia’s Battle Themes in the original Gen 4 Games. Kinda fitting if you ask me, since now that he has both the gods of Time and Space at his command, he basically stole their melodies and added it to his own song, representing how much control he has over them.

I love all of these new remixes of boss themes. They are great. But I've got to say Cyrus' and Lysandre's are just excellent. Not only do they just improve on their original counterparts they also add certain elements to it that makes it seem as if those two in particular are more than just a threat. You can tell that they have done horrific things. Which makes sense considering one eradicated the universe and made a knew one without emotions and the other killed pretty much everything on the planet without mercy.
