Ghetsis is still the only pokemon villain who I would call truly evil to the core. He's not misunderstood or misguided. He just wants power. All the power in the world that he can get his hands on simply to control everybody else. His deepest wish is not to create a more pure world, or solve a perceived problem, but to become a dictator.
I think Giovanni is more evil than Ghetsis. This guy threatened the President of one of the biggest companies in the Pokemon world- The Silph Co. Not only that, he did not hesitate to kill Pokemon..Remember that Marowak? The Cubone's mother? He went after one of the strongest Pokemon- Mewtwo so that he could one day rule over the world. He did not feel any emotions while treating his own son (Silver) badly in his childhood. All these facts state that Giovanni is a truly evil man. Even Ghetsis in Ultra Sun/Moon says that "Giovanni is a man of pure evil." "Now on which world shall I unleash my evil schemes upon?" All these things that I have mentioned state that Giovanni is more evil. Not trying to start a fight/debate...
@@deathscyther4530 Giovanni was just a mafia boss. Ghetsis was a deceptive evil mastermind that would stop at nothing to become an absolute dictator of the Unova region, He Raised N on lies to make him into a tool to get more power for himself.
I feel like Ghetsis is probably the more evil one out of the two. While the man doesn't outright kill pokemon, he still greatly abuses his own. His Hydriegon is the only pokemon owned by a NPC within the entire series that knows max level frustration, implying that he's abused it to it's limits. Not only does he abuse pokemon, but he also threatens to take the lives of many others as well. He threatens the player in Black 2 and White 2, using Kyurem as a weapon to try to impale them, as well as threatens to outright murder Lillie in USUM if the trainer doesn't release his/her pokemon. He raised his own son for the sole purpose of using him as a pawn to get a pokemon of immense power, all so that he could threaten people to release their own pokemon, so they'd have no way to fight back. On top of this all, in USUM, it's implied that he backstabbed N, possibly even murdered him, in order to get ahold of the legendary dragon after it's awakening. Compared to this, Giovanni is just a mob boss. Sure, he's threatened people, but so do many other evil team leaders in the series. Sure, he abused his own son, but so did Ghetsis.
All other Pokémon villains: “Oh the kid beat me, better give up...” Ghetsis: “NO NO NO NO NO! I will kill her if you don’t throw your Pokeballs aside right this instant! I AM ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!! I CANNOT FAIL! IT. WILL. NOT. BE. ALLOWED!”
If I remember correctly, his japanese name is written "Gêchisu". Pronounced, that's pretty close to "Ghetsis" even though we would translate it as G-Cis ^^

I don't have a chance to play BW2, and found a comment that his Hydreigon... IS A PHYSICAL HYDREIGON, PHYSICAL!!! HOLDING A LIFE ORB!! MAXED OUT FRUSTRATION LIKE BOI, THIS DUDE IS BATSHIT NUTS
Going through the comments about the stark difference in reactions between Ghestis and the other Leaders after being defeated got me thinking. The others, seem to have more a sense of honor when it comes to Pokemon Battles. Like a duel between respected opponents they acknowledge your skill and accept defeat and it's terms. Each seem amused by battling such a young trainer being so strong. Each one comments on the 'what if' a person like you had existed in their world. They also seem somewhat more... content having completed their goals. More satisfied for the moment. Even Giovanni seems to enjoy your battle. Ghestis however, is not. He sees this as an opportunity to gain even MORE power. Why stick with one region, maybe even one world, when you can have many worlds? He cares not about honoring any terms of defeat nor is amused by battling such a strong opponent. You are just another obstacle to removed. Everything is just a means to an end, or a pawn to be used. Where the other leaders appear to have some sense of honor or standards Ghestis doesn't care. He only wants absolute power and will do anything to get it. Abusing and manipulating a child to become a 'King' through which you hold all the strings? Done. Plan to manipulate the mob boss that brought you here and make him your puppet? Check. Lost a battle and threaten to murder someone to get the winner to surrender? No problem. While there's no doubt the other team leaders are evil/misguided or crazy to some degree I think Ghestis is just straight up insane. To me that makes him the most terrifying to deal with so far.
@Orion Valentine this better be satire - all giovanni does is be called boss. Ghetsis literally tries to murder you twice. He goes to any end and at least Cyrus has some level of rational thought
Out of the bosses, it's Lysandre and Ghetsis, the former being that he strives for perfection, by adding real context more then a pokemon game give you, i feel he is more dangerous as a villain as he is completely sane while doing so, while the latter is quite the opposite, as he is completely insane, doing whatever he needs to do to accomplish anything. I've always assumed the other 4 bosses (excluding Lusamine) were more reasonable as men in power, less so with Cyrus as his reasonings as we know it is pure escapism from the reality a.k.a. the world is full of chaos (which it is after looking at all the end game of bosses in the whole series, but as for Ghetsis, take goodness Colress was there.
@Orion Valentine how is Ghetsis boring? He literally had one of the best storylines in the franchise. Cyrus, I get, but Giovanni is just some vanilla mob boss. There is no way Giovanni is a "next level villian".

It’s disturbing to me that ghetsis has one of the legendary dragons. Thinking about how he got it is worse. It gets worse when you realize that ghetsis’s team in black and white was basically a counter team he had built to defeat N, Zekrom and Reshiram specifically. In a universe where Hilbert/ Hilda don’t exist, there is no one to stop ghetsis from outright flattening N’s team and probably killing him as well to take the dragon he currently possesses.
Could you imagine the pokemon world under the reign of Ghetsis? Not only is he unstoppable, but he technically owns literally every single pokemon, and here’s how: In a world where Hilbert/Hilda didn’t exist, Ghetsis succeeds in his plan and uses N, the hero of the Unova region to convince everyone that owning pokemon is wrong. This movement later on spreads to the other reigons. Ghetsis now rules the land. Ghetsis now has every pokemon in hand, even the legendaries. If he wanted he could use any of the legendary pokemon to fulfill his desires. He could use Xerneas to give himself eternal life, or use Giratina to banish everyone who opposes him into the distortion world. What a scary thought.
Coolcat_tom, it is actually very likely that Ghetsis killed N in the universe where Hilbert/Hilda didn’t exist due to the fact that N sees his Pokémon as friends and wouldn’t allow Ghetsis to treat them cruely, as a result, Ghetsis kills N, so he can finally have the legendary dragon all to himself, and then eventually the world.
Ghetsis actually never stole N's Dragon. Hate to disprove that theory but in BW when N got his Dragon, Ghetsis was searching for the other stone to use for himself but they couldn't find it in the ruins in the desert because it was in Nacrene City. The Dragon probably saw him as someone who had a ideal and sides with him. He then CONTINUES to use N as a puppet and prepares to squash him should he ever retaliate. The main character doesn't exist so there is no reason he shouldn't find the stone and he has no reason to attack N since N is pretty much the guardian or champion at that point and a great figurehead
I gotta love how unlike the other themes of the bosses brought back for rainbow rocket, this isn't really a remix...This is a remaster, and it turned an already god tier theme into absolute perfection. Not to mention Ghetsis is MUCH. MUCH. more evil than all of the other bosses brought back combined, planned to overthrow Giovanni himself AND even boosts his already infamous track of attempts to murder children.
I like to think that his music is so similar to its Black/White iteration because Ghetsis himself changed the least out of any of the “victorious” leaders in Rainbow Rocket
Never played BW or B2W2 but this battle, his theme, and his evil character of tackling Lillie down and wanting to physically fight your trainer made me want to play those games now
If you do play them then be careful. Because Ghetsis is INSANELY tough, having a full team of diverse types that makes B/W's champion look like a chump. And also remember that gen5 has no Fairy types and the Unova region is very scarce when it comes to fast Fighting, Bug, Dragon, and Ice types (which that Haxdreigon can usually tank and OHKO back with its ludicrous movepool).
If you want to know anything about Ghetsis, he is the most sinister, evil, violent, manipulative, cruel hearted, and scariest villain ever, and he is in a POKEMON game. He attempts to kill you in B2 and W2! And he COULD HAVE SUCCEEDED!!!
I don’t even want to think about what that Hydreigon could have gone through. It’s Ghetsis we’re talking about, the man who has tried to kill children multiple times, was planning to manipulate _Giovanni_ after they’d won, abused N, and so on. Ghetsis does not give two shits. So to make his Hydreigon, which he clearly doesn’t give two shits about either, have maximum power Frustration... Heres a little comparison. Cyrus, another clearly insane man who attempted to destroy the world, had a Crobat. you require high friendship to evolve into a Crobat. I’m totally down to believe these Hydreigon abuse theories, to be frank. Poor dragon.
Out of all of the main villains, ghetsis is my favorite just by his character alone. Gen 5 had an extremely dark tone and it made for an experience unlike any other pokemon game. Team plasma had a goal unlike the other enemies and it was scarily realistic. Ghetsis's personality and idealogy were the darkest of all the main series villains and it was fantastic. Gen 5 is honestly my favorite generation because it brought so many new ideas to pokemon and it presented it fantastically.
@KSS Studios in BW1 When we first encounter team Plasma kicking munna the grunts panick saying "this is Ghetsis when a plan has failed" implying they know his true intentions & are literally in Team Plasma bc of Fearing Ghetsis would do something to them if they "quit" and they did with the help of N facing him.
In my opinion, Ghetsis is the most threatening villain in the entire series to date. He's been the only one to attack children with full intent to kill them, not to mention that he raised a child in a controlled environment in order to use him to take over the damn world. Sure, Lysandre had that machine of mass destruction that'd cause a mass genocide, but at least Lysandre was saddened by how many people and pokemon would need to die to make the world "beautiful". Ghetsis just didn't care. No regrets, even after his defeat.
Giovanni can still enjoy a battle even if he loses. Hell, Cyrus, who has NO emotion whatsoever, can still admire your strength and rotom. Ghetsis is someone who literally thinks he CANNOT lose, and he will be successful, he MUST be successful, no matter what. Only his own self mattered to him.
Pretty impressive how ghetsis manages to stand out from pretty much all other pokemon evil team leaders. He's practically an antithesis to all of Pokemon's core message, which is kinda fitting considering the whole point of team plasma is initially calling that core message into question. I like how he is also probably the only characther in pokemon who probably has sustained actual serious physical injury. We cant know for sure, but he might be missing an eye and an arm. Think about what that means for a characther in the world of pokemon. Ghetsis isint afraid to hurt you, even if it means getting hurt. And losing an eye and an arm didint stop him before. List of things Ghetsis has done: -Raised a child specifically for the purpose of befreinding a legendary pokemon and to beleive in a cause he thinks is bullshit -Proceed to tell that child they are basically disposable and that they are a freak (and other shitty stuff) -Possibly plan to kill that child because you have a team practically built to counter theirs and in the Rainbow Rocket encounter uses the legendary pokemon (Yeahh.... ghetsis wants the whole throne, he never planned N to rule anything) -Create an entire criminal organisation and devisive political issue in Unova... that he donsent even beleive in at all. -The only trainer in the series to have a max power frustration on a pokemon, meaning minimum freindship level. In other words, he made his pokemon hate him. -Froze entire cities -Tries to kill the protagonist (like, literally kill, not just beat them in a battle) -Literally hits Lillie (like, physically *hits* her himself), takes her as a hostage to make you put your pokeballs down in team Rainbow Rocket. Like, literally threatens to kill Lillie.
He also originally planned to go after the Sinnoh legendary trio after Unova. So yeah don't count him out on ambition. Plus his team as of Black and White are almost a mirror of Champion Cynthia.
He is revealed to still have his right arm as early as the intro. It's miscoloured, but he still has it. My working theory is that he is a recovering stroke victim. He keeps his right eye and arm hidden from view, both of them being on the same side of his body. Similarly, the right side of his mouth always seems unable to completely open. Whether it's some aborted story arc or not, I think it adds to the unnerving nature of his character.
I played through all of the bosses in Episode RR in one sitting in bed, with my girlfriend next to me on her phone. She didn't react to anything else, but when this came on, she just said "Holy shit".
Sure, Ghetsis, you can plot to take over the world, manipulate Giovanni to your heart's content, give tons of children Vietnam flashbacks with your OP as heck Hydreigon, manage to have arguably the best theme of the Rainbow Rocket bosses, AND maintain your status as a complete psychopath. Believe it or not, I'm ok with you doing all of that, since I know I'm gonna cream you anyway. But when you shove Lillie onto the floor, that's where I draw the line.
I agree with you. Ghetsis was even worse that a normal human, but rather a monster consumed by a false ambition and evil desire, with his ambitions bringing nothing but sadness and despair to both human and pokemon. I wonder how will things play out if Gen 5 (I meant both pairs) as a remake in switch, I can imagine that the age rating might rise from Everybody to 10 or 12 plus due to the morality, social and theme of the story. I haven't finish gen 5 but by watching the walkthroughs and looking into the story closely, I can see how despicable he was, makes me feel like there should be divine retribution befall him. If gen 5 was remade, I wish that the playable character will have some physical action and speech, like in a physical fight and some vocal lines (both Japanese and English) to empathize how serious the situation is. I don't think that adding the character having physical wounds will be kid friendly, but this shows the reality that anything can happen, even in some morality issues.
I wanted to order my Primarina to drown the fucker right then and there. Or have my Metagross put a leg through his gut. But seeing him break down and get owned by Colress worked too.
0:05 I just realised this sounds like a whip, which fits perfectly with Ghetsis's "pokémon are just tools without feelings" view. Given the fact that this Ghetsis won in his dimension and has likely turned all pokémon and most likely even people into slaves, this once again shows how Ghetsis is nothing but pure evil.
@@hopelessamaturerougeofhope4399 *Ahem* The future! or something idk I had weird subtitles so I don't know what he's actually supposed to say, thanks to science!
I see a lot of people saying that Cyrus is the most threatening Pokémon villain, but I think Ghetsis is terrifying. The thing is, Cyrus wanted a world without spirit. A world where nobody could experience emotions. They'd just be empty husks of who they used to be. However, remember how Ghetsis mainly set up Team Plasma, only to take control of the entirety of Unova or maybe the world? People would suffer on the daily. He'd probably have his Hydreigon murder anyone that opposed him. Considering nobody would be able to use Pokémon anymore, nobody would even be able to fight back. This means everyone would suffer forever. I say forever, because if Ghetsis was the only one who could catch Pokémon like Xerneas? He would be immortal. Meaning eternal suffering worldwide. That's why I think the most threatening villain is Ghetsis. That maniac.
There's also the fact that Cyrus has a Crobat, meaning he probably does have a little bit of a good side, Ghetsis however is literally the ONLY character I can think of that has a Max Frustration move and it's on Hydregon... HIS ACE
The difference btw the 2 is Cyrus is an idiot & wants to live alone with only himself. What is he going to get out that? He’s a hurt little boy & his back story proves of it. He just needed love, and his part in the Manga this dummy had Lucas help him fight of Giratina bc he realized what a mistake he caused. Ghetsis on the other hand shown from the games, anime adaptations to Manga he’s a literal sociopath. Wants nothing more but power. He’s a villain done right bc he makes me hate him.
Let's be honest Ghetsis is a monster He abused n after taking him in and lied to him about his plans to liberate Pokemon. He almost killed the black and white 2 player with kyrem And then he pushes lillie to the floor in US/UM ghetsis is not kid friendly
remember, he was on the brink of killing lillie just to make that career of attempted murder worse, and he would of gotten away with it if colress didn't step in.
Ghetsis is not child friendly, and thank God because GF's overall move to make Pokemon more and more sanitised for the kiddies is such a shame. Many of us managed to cope with Team Rocket killing Cubone's mother and cutting tails of Slowpokes as 10 year olds but now apparently kids can't even cope with a tiny bit of darkness? Actually I'm pretty sure they CAN, and having a real villain who is actually a threat really resonates with kids too.
I don’t think Ghetsis is Pokémon’s best villain... but damn, he is beyond a shadow of a doubt a monster. Not ONCE do I recall Giovanni ever saying he would outright KILL the main character. Let me say that again: Ghetsis was willing to murder CHILDREN. And when you feel that’s acceptable, when Giovanni has the moral high ground by comparison, you better hope Hell doesn’t exist, cause after that, you bought a ticket for it.
Even if you think he isn't the best villain, he's easily the most evil/murderous. Not only was his plan to freeze the entire Unova region over (which would kill everyone), he immediately attempts to freeze the player character (as the commenter above me said). He was willing to adopt an orphan and manipulate his childhood and his whole life to simply make him a tool in his villainous plan and cast him aside when things went awry. Not only do all the other villains accept defeat in Ultra Sun/Moon, but only Ghetsis has a total breakdown and threatens to kill Lillie. I thought Giovanni would have some sort of breakdown, but no, even he accepted his defeat and moved on quickly. Ghetsis is no joke.
Ah Gen 5... good times. Great story, some of the best characters in the series (N, Ghetsis, Colress, and Alder are great characters), and some amazingly strong Pokémon (Darmanitan, Haxorus, Hydreigon, Gigalith, Galvantula, Klinklang, Vanilluxe, Reunicles, Bisharp, and Volcarona being the main ones that come to mind). Not to mention Ghetsis himself is such a diabolical genius bastard and the best villian in the series.
Yeah ghetsis was a real villain unlike maxie(oras), archie(oras), lusamine, necrozma and im pretty sure we're not going to get a real villain in sword and shield
It annoys me that USUM tried to hype Giovanni up as this great evil. Like, compared to Ghetsis he's absolutely pitiful. Rainbow Rocket was a total joke.
ghetsis is the only team boss i would genuinely enjoy throwing hands with in a denny’s parking lot at 3am. a masterclass in villainy. when people hate your villain, you know you did them right.
I'm glad they acknowledge how dangerous and important Ghetsis is. If it weren't for the player, I wonder if Ghetsis would have actually been able to follow through on his plan to overthrow Giovanni.
Gengarzilla Eh, Mega Mewtwo X/Y would have stopped Hydreigon.... and then Giovanni wins, as Ghetsis carries no Megas of his own, and while Bisharp and Hydreigon both have a type advantage on Mega Mewtwo (either form), they are clearly weaker, both Mega Mewtwo forms have an advantage over Reshiram/Zekrom, and if Giovanni is using Mega Mewtwo Y, it would know both Ice Beam and Aura Sphere, giving it an advantage on Hydreigon as well.
Everyone is either remembering a previous battle with him or saying something about how he tried to kill Lillie, and I'm just thinking that he's basically attempted to murder someone at least about maybe 3 or 4 times already. Or that he probably actually killed the N from his universe if him having Reshiram/Zekrom is anything to go by.
So according to an interview, all the members of Team Rainbow Rocket came from alternate timelines where they won. Just as a heads up, that probably means this version of Ghetsis killed his timeline's N.
Yeah, all of them talk about achieving their goals, and wondering if a trainer as strong as you (in USUM) could have stopped them in their own world. Plus they have legendaries. Giovanni having Mewtwo in particular is a callback to the very first movie where he successfully controls Mewtwo
Quick heads up Giovanni - World Domination Archie - Flood the world (basically) Maxie - Expand land Cyrus - New world with no emotions. Ghetsis - World domination Lysandre - mass genocide of Kalos and immortality

Ghetsis is the most despicable, rotten, dark villain in Pokemon history. This nutcase's appearance in this game makes me want to punch him so bad even with the stuff he pulled in BW and B2W2!
It makes me like him even more, someone needed to slap Lillie, she’s such an annoying bitch, he should’ve grabbed her when he was getting sucked back into his own world that would’ve showed that betrayer Colress.

The fact that ghetsis apparently succeeded in his dimension makes me think he got rid of N. Then he proceeds to harm and threaten Lillie. Looking at the information presented to me, I feel an insatiable desire to feed his soul to my shedninja
When comparing this version of his theme to the version from BW, I realized something. The arrangement from BW sounded much more restrained and quiet, but still intimidating. On the other hand, this arrangement is much more intense and grand, as if something was being held back before. And this makes a lot of sense when you consider the state of his plans, as well as his character. Specifically, the fact that unlike in BW, he now wears his manipulative intentions on his sleeve and openly admits his plot to manipulate Giovanni to the player
They actually sing G-Cis which is his japanese (and German) name. He's named after the G-Cis tritone that was also known as diabolus in musica (The Devil in the music) because of it's dissonance. His first name (G-cis a dissonance) and surname (Harmonia, Latin for harmony) actually form opposites. This alludes to his evil plan which seems to have the good intention of helping pokemon at first but is later reveald to just be a cover up for his real goal, to rule over Unova. Moreover G-Cis obviously sounds a lot like Jesus, which is alluded by the team Plasma symbol (a Z overlapping with a P) in contrast to the Chi Rho (☧) Symbol that is a combination of the first 2 letters of "Christ" in greek ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ . He was most likely renamed in the english version because of this similarity. As for the Plasma logo, plasma is pronounced as "purazuma" in Japanese, which is most likely the reason for the PZ in the team's logo.
Natrium2400 To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Pokemon. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical player's head. There’s also Lillie's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into her characterisation- her personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Pokemon truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Lillie's existential catchphrase “Get in the bag Nebby,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Satoshi Tajiri's genius wit unfolds itself on their 3DS screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Pokemon tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
I see what you did there. But if you actually take this meme seriously it makes no sense. To be informed about something really hasn't to do all that much with intelligence. I mean you could easily google most of that. It's simple information, there isn't anything special to understand. On the other hand, it's sad that RnM is memed to death by all this retards that just got on the bandwagon and only watched it since it was hyped. It's a good series with a terrible fanbase, just like the pokemon games. I only wanted to point out some interesting things about Gethis, I'm not some autistic poser. A bit background info can be enjoyable imo
Natrium2400 I was just meming the Rick and Morty copypasta because the information that you had seemed like something that not a lot of people would know. It is some really fascinating information that you have. I love music and I've always had a love of pokemon (gen 5 is what got me into the series) so it's cool to see that Ghetsis is based off of that.
The RicknMorty past is really cancerous. Not your fault though. It's a cool series that suffers from an aweful fandom. Actually I googled the stuff myself when BW were released since I was curious about why they might have changed his name for the english release. I'm German, so this whole G-Cis=Jesus thing wasn't all to obvious for me 6 years ago.
I like the changes they made to Ghetsis' theme in USUM. This Ghetsis is from an alternate timeline, one where he and Team Plasma rule over Unova, perhaps even their entire world, with an iron fist. It sounds much more intense than the original theme, more demanding to anyone listening. Because before the Trainer, at the moment of battling him, stands a psychopath who got everything he wanted... and he wants your world too. And all other worlds.
@@SMCwasTaken oh absolutely. like sure its pokèmon and theyre all goofy villains but i could honestly see Ghetsis being a real man rather than like...Cyrus. Also Giovanni.

Everyone talking about Hydreigon being a cakewalk for Fairy types, like Sylveon or Gardevoir. But remember, a scarfed Hydreigon has 146 base Speed instead of 98, a Choice Specs one has 184 base Special Attack instead of 125, and the unboosted stats are still very decent. Also it can run Flash Cannon, Heat Wave and some other brutal special moves. A well trained Hydreigon is a total beast, mine holds a Life Orb, it was trained to be a merciless sweeper, no Fairy can switch in safely, gave me at least 10 victories online. No boosts, no weather, no hazards, solo Hydreigon. Battle Tree, all-out attacking with my Life Orb Hydreigon as the ace, my Scarfed Timid Gardevoir as the lead and Mega Blaziken as the anti-Steel, the order is: "Leave no survivors". @@Damascene_ Hey, got a brand new Hydreigon. A mixed Scope Lens + Focus Energy (100% critical hit), to ignore debuffs from Draco Meteor and Superpower.
Actually, not EV invested Choice Scarf Hydreigon has 348 Speed, equal to not EV invested *156* Base Speed. If Hydreigon is EV invested, then it's Speed with Choice Scarf is equal 443, equivalent to not EV invested Base *204* Speed. The Special Attack with Choice Specs are (not invested and invested) 429 and 524 respectively, which equals to not invested Base Special Attack of *197* for not invested and *244* for invested Choice items increase NOT base stats, but stays after all calculations. The same goes for Special Defense Boost given by Assault Vest or Sandstorm for Rock-type Pokemon All calculations were made taking into account that in every instance, IV for every stat was maximum (31), and Nature was neutral

And this game tried to frame Giovanni as the biggest evil. What a laugh, he's a puppy compared to Ghetsis.
Even Ghetsis in Ultra Sun/Moon says that "Giovanni is a man of pure evil."
"Now on which world shall I unleash my evil schemes upon?" All these things that I have mentioned state that Giovanni is more evil.
Not trying to start a fight/debate...

Giovanni is a man of true evil.
Ghetsis is a freak without a human heart.
IT. WILL. NOT. BE. ALLOWED!”

Reading your comment while listening to this gave me chills
@Orion Valentine this better be satire - all giovanni does is be called boss. Ghetsis literally tries to murder you twice. He goes to any end and at least Cyrus has some level of rational thought
Out of the bosses, it's Lysandre and Ghetsis, the former being that he strives for perfection, by adding real context more then a pokemon game give you, i feel he is more dangerous as a villain as he is completely sane while doing so, while the latter is quite the opposite, as he is completely insane, doing whatever he needs to do to accomplish anything.

PlazmaStorm, so N wouldn’t try stopping him when he finds out his father was using him out of selfishness?
I gotta love how unlike the other themes of the bosses brought back for rainbow rocket, this isn't really a remix...This is a remaster, and it turned an already god tier theme into absolute perfection. Not to mention Ghetsis is MUCH. MUCH. more evil than all of the other bosses brought back combined, planned to overthrow Giovanni himself AND even boosts his already infamous track of attempts to murder children.
Yeah, all the boss themes were remixed to sound more like USUM but Ghetsis's sounds like it was ripped from BW
I like to think that his music is so similar to its Black/White iteration because Ghetsis himself changed the least out of any of the “victorious” leaders in Rainbow Rocket

jdark15 trust me dude they're great games! and challenging! i played b2 so many times but it's so challenging still no matter what xD
BW is one of the best, especially the storyboard is quite impressive n Pokemon's standards. Gotta play it.

Hydreigon's stongest move is possibly Frustration
Wanna know why?
*hydreigon really hates ghetsis*
Hyperspace yeah he gave him a broken eye
And may or may not have mangled his right arm
Ghetsis abused his hydreigon

Out of all of the main villains, ghetsis is my favorite just by his character alone. Gen 5 had an extremely dark tone and it made for an experience unlike any other pokemon game. Team plasma had a goal unlike the other enemies and it was scarily realistic. Ghetsis's personality and idealogy were the darkest of all the main series villains and it was fantastic. Gen 5 is honestly my favorite generation because it brought so many new ideas to pokemon and it presented it fantastically.
That's why Gen 5 was the best.
I wish I had the opportunity to play the gen 5 games..
Since the evil teams are inspired by the then-current events happening in Japan...
what the fuck was happening, japan? do you need to talk i-
@KSS Studios Nope Neo Plasma exist they sided with Ghetsis & wanted to help him take over the world. The fight we have of them in Virbank they say it.
@@lyonvensa he has a whole god complex going on. And that's cool

There's even that theory about him having murdered Hilbert/Hilda between BW/2 explaining their absence in those games. Truly a chilling entity.

yep
I don't know weather to be dissapointed or impressed that it took THAT LONG!
List of things Ghetsis has done:
-Raised a child specifically for the purpose of befreinding a legendary pokemon and to beleive in a cause he thinks is bullshit
-Proceed to tell that child they are basically disposable and that they are a freak (and other shitty stuff)
-Possibly plan to kill that child because you have a team practically built to counter theirs and in the Rainbow Rocket encounter uses the legendary pokemon (Yeahh.... ghetsis wants the whole throne, he never planned N to rule anything)
-Create an entire criminal organisation and devisive political issue in Unova... that he donsent even beleive in at all.
-The only trainer in the series to have a max power frustration on a pokemon, meaning minimum freindship level. In other words, he made his pokemon hate him.
-Froze entire cities
-Tries to kill the protagonist (like, literally kill, not just beat them in a battle)
-Literally hits Lillie (like, physically *hits* her himself), takes her as a hostage to make you put your pokeballs down in team Rainbow Rocket. Like, literally threatens to kill Lillie.
Grammar
You forgot to say that his name is actually inspired by a musical movement which is supposed to represent the devil 😊
It was probably Hydreigon who ripped his arm off

THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP
He is a lot worse than that in USUM.
There's also the fact that Cyrus has a Crobat, meaning he probably does have a little bit of a good side, Ghetsis however is literally the ONLY character I can think of that has a Max Frustration move and it's on Hydregon... HIS ACE
Although, to be fair, Xemeas would not like that, and being a legendary Pokémon, could probably absolutely rock Ghetsis’s world.
@@John-Stark his crobat liking him doesn't mean he likes his crowbat.
Let's be honest
Ghetsis is a monster
He abused n after taking him in and lied to him about his plans to liberate Pokemon.
He almost killed the black and white 2 player with kyrem
And then he pushes lillie to the floor in US/UM
ghetsis is not kid friendly
remember, he was on the brink of killing lillie just to make that career of attempted murder worse, and he would of gotten away with it if colress didn't step in.
Oh yeah and his plan in USUM was basically to conquer multiple different worlds after making Giovanni king.
@@angrycinnabon2956 glad he didn't bring in kyurem though lmao
Don't forget this one either set up a puppet state or *killed N*
I don’t think Ghetsis is Pokémon’s best villain... but damn, he is beyond a shadow of a doubt a monster. Not ONCE do I recall Giovanni ever saying he would outright KILL the main character.
Let me say that again: Ghetsis was willing to murder CHILDREN.
And when you feel that’s acceptable, when Giovanni has the moral high ground by comparison, you better hope Hell doesn’t exist, cause after that, you bought a ticket for it.
Torterra oml thats true
Oh don't worry, in B2/W2 he flat-out tries to cryofreeze you by setting Kyurem on you.
Wonder if he's got some beef to go with that...
In the timeline he won, he did kill N, if the presence of Reshiram/Zekrom on his team means anything...
Uh, that's a bit of a hard to believe assumption that he killed N...
Ah Gen 5... Not to mention Ghetsis himself is such a diabolical genius bastard and the best villian in the series.
fireassassin123 i love Konkeldurr
Definitely the best villain.
My first Pokemon game was B2. Next main series game, assuming all the relevant Pokemon are in it, i'll be rebuilding my team.
ghetsis is the only team boss i would genuinely enjoy throwing hands with in a denny’s parking lot at 3am.
a masterclass in villainy. when people hate your villain, you know you did them right.
What an oddly specific scenario...
I need him so bad
This guy single-handedly (lol, get it?) redeems the lackluster Rainbow Rocket plot with his immense ego and scumbaggery.
I'm glad they acknowledge how dangerous and important Ghetsis is. If it weren't for the player, I wonder if Ghetsis would have actually been able to follow through on his plan to overthrow Giovanni.
I think there's a very good reason why he's taught Surf to his Hydreigon here.
@@Potterholic1 780 BST aint nothin to scoff at.

Guy: Who's the best Pokemon antagonist?
Me: Ghetsis.
Guy: Wait, why him?
Me: Who else do you know who is a main antagonist in a video game and has a final boss theme with an ominous Latin choir chanting his name??
...
Guy: Ohhhhhhhhh...
Me: Yep.
Sephiroth.
Blue has a choir in FRLG

Sephiroth did it a decade beforehand.

The fact that ghetsis apparently succeeded in his dimension makes me think he got rid of N. Then he proceeds to harm and threaten Lillie. Looking at the information presented to me, I feel an insatiable desire to feed his soul to my shedninja
Colress: You may think you can do that, however, I DISAGREE!
Your Shedinja: *disappointed Shedinja noises*
If you fed his soul to your shedinja it would probably starve to death because he has no soul and shedinja is literally on 1HP all the time.
Shedinja coughs it up into a weird little hairball on the floor
When comparing this version of his theme to the version from BW, I realized something. The arrangement from BW sounded much more restrained and quiet, but still intimidating. On the other hand, this arrangement is much more intense and grand, as if something was being held back before. And this makes a lot of sense when you consider the state of his plans, as well as his character. Specifically, the fact that unlike in BW, he now wears his manipulative intentions on his sleeve and openly admits his plot to manipulate Giovanni to the player
What about the B2W2 version? That one sounds like he needs to be locked in an asylum pronto.
It sounds like a fusion of his first and second theme
It’s because they use the sinister brass and chanting more in this theme, whereas in the original they only were in the break
That damn Hydreigon tore me to shreds when I was 11, and after all these years it felt god damn *INCREDIBLE* to Twinkle Tackle that thing to oblivion!
Natrium2400 Interesting
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Pokemon tattoo.
Why am I so obsessed with this guy as a character? He’s like the only truly villain-like villain in the entire series
honestly I think that's why he seems to be a favorite- he's not sugar coated for the sake of little kids. he's EVIL. and it's fantastic and TERRIFYING

The return of Dennis!
wait, who is dennis?
Amonte Edwards back in the original games it sounded like they were chanting Dennis, Dennis, Dennis in the music lol
Amonte Edwards LMAO, you’re not a true Pokefan if you didn’t know that.
When he said that my pokeballs were shaking, I was honestly hoping one or all of my pokemon would come out. Even if they don't do anything, be pretty cool to see. Especially your starter and Nebby
Edit: Hydreigon can learn Focus Energy and hold a Scope Lens for a guaranteed critical hit with Draco Meteor.
Nice team.
Your Hydreigon gives me fear. For this i am grateful
And with the SwSh addition of Nasty Plot to its already impressive toolkit, you've got yourself a regular OU Pokemon
The Special Attack with Choice Specs are (not invested and invested) 429 and 524 respectively, which equals to not invested Base Special Attack of *197* for not invested and *244* for invested
Choice items increase NOT base stats, but stays after all calculations. The same goes for Special Defense Boost given by Assault Vest or Sandstorm for Rock-type Pokemon
All calculations were made taking into account that in every instance, IV for every stat was maximum (31), and Nature was neutral

I know Ghetsis was the real villain from Gen5, but can you imagine what if N had a place in this, and his theme revamped for USUM, considering how hair-raising and lowkey terrifying his theme was in B/W? The idea alone kinda gives me chills.
If N had been featured in gen 7, he probably would've been more along the lines of how he was in BW2... where he's really not scary at all.
Stop giving me reasons to want Adventures to have an anime.
Sheesh did N get a boost in playing mind games. Ghestsis gets even worse somehow.

Let me tell you all a story. When I was maybe 7 or 8 I was playing through Pokémon Black which was my first mainline series games. I grew up with gen 5. Ghetsis and his Eelektross was really annoying. I could barely stand a chance I always kept losing. It took me weeks to beat Ghetsis.

Ugh, this is literally the best boss of all Pokemon..He shows what a really greedy person is. He manipulated his adopted son into trying to control Unova, he tries to kill you in bw2 along with his son. And now he tries to kill Lillie and he knows that you’re young. This is a real villain. I have to disagree with you there: Ghetsis isn't a villain, he's a Mad Dog...
N when he was acting leader of Team Plasma, on the other hand, was way better in my honest opinion. His intentions were fundamentally wrong, but you can see where he was coming from. N was a villain that made sense, a farcry from his tyrannical terrorist father who was pretty much Proto-S/M-era Lusamine...
Yuukicchi i think Maxie and Tabitha from RSE....
Robbie Norris You can't consider N a villain though. More of an antagonistic character. Ghetsis literally manipulated N his whole life thinking he was doing justice for the Unova Region and the World. Truth V. Ideals
ThomasTheDankEngine
I know N wasn't really a villain, I'm saying when he was acting leader of Team Plasma, he was the only one amongst them to make some sense. It was a breath of fresh air to see a psycho terrorist group led by a sane man... Until I learned their _Real_ boss was a Dyed-in-the-Wool basketcase...
