Honestly sad that one battle in USUM made Lysandre an actual popular character because his base games just so completely failed at character building for any of the characters. X/Y definitely suffered from not having a third version that cut the fat and focused on the good.

either that or he made them all immortal because the weapon flushed the world with life and brought back the dead, which is terrifying in itself. imagine the megafauna and megaflora from BC coming back during civilisation. even if we were immortal, it'd essentially still be an apocalypse, just one in the form of nature on steroids.
@@wariothemilkman well we would finally be able to see what genesect looked like before being given a mechanical shell (assuming it isn’t a kabutops or something similar)
Just imagine being AZ in the world where Lysandre succeeded. The world has ended, you're trapped because you are immortal , and it's because of your weapon
That actually bring up an interesting point. Would AZ be killed by the Ultimate Weapon? If he is immortal, could Xerneas further enhance it, could Yveltal take it away and turn him mortal?
When lysandre woke up back home he found az and floette sitting there sad about everyone being dead and then he got decked by his great great great great great grandfathers brother for using the genocide gun
@@Soulmage-hk2hkI mean AZ’s only Pokémon by the end of XY are Torkoal, Golurk, and Sigilyph. All of which are weak to at least one of Lysandre’s 4 Pokémon. Plus I feel like the Mega Gyarados alone could sweep AZ. So long as Lysandre has his Pokémon with him, I don’t think he’s going to be touched by anyone.
What I like about Lysandre in this game is that he seems to be the only team leader who has been changed by the fact that he has achieved his goal. It's really obvious that he's gone off the deep end, and the smile in his battle intro is such a jarring difference from his intro in X/Y, where he turns to face you with nothing but cold contempt in his eyes.
can we get 6969 subscribers with no video There is a beard. Look down from his hairline. You’ll see where it stops. His clothing and his beard are distinctly separate.
Something I noticed about Lysandre's name: In Japanese, it's Furadari, from "fleur-de-lis," a symbol of France, and while the name Lysandre DOES reflect that, there's also a second layer of meaning to his name that one could say was found in translation: His name comes from the prefix "lys-," meaning "destroy" or "break," and the root "andros," meaning "man." Lys andros. Destroyer of man. And his goal is to commit genocide. The combination of meanings is brilliant: At first, he's a well-respected figure who's seen as a hero by the Kalosians ("fleur-de-lis"), but then it turns out he wants to kill everyone except a specific group of people ("lys andros").
There's more, the "fleur-de-lys" isn't just a symbol of France, it is the main symbol of French Royalty in history, which also fits Lysandre well since he is a descendant of the royal family of Kalos if I remember correctly.
In both cases the weapon needs a lot of energy to work, so even if he wants to give immortality to a lot of people the weapons still going to kill a bunch of people
This makes me slightly sad that there was no big reveal regarding the mystery of his beard, as it would have been hilarious if it turned out that Lysandre was actually a sentient, legendary beard pokemon controlling a mannequin or something,
Giovanni: Okay so, how are we all gonna rule the world together? Archie: I will call upon the beast that awakens the sea. Maxie: I will call upon the beast who awakens the land. Cyrus: I will eradicate all existence and rewrite it without emotions. Ghetsis: I will liberate everyone from their Pokémon and DEFINITELY not (try to) use you as a pawn Lysandre: Boys, prepare the ultimate weapon *THE SKITTLES RAY*
Lysander: "I'll use an ancient weapon to either make us immortal so that we not only outlast everyone else, but we can also kill them all, or just kill everyone that isn't us." Everyone else: "What. Why do you even have that?!"
I think some of you got this wrong Cyrus does not destroy the universe he creates one and plans on to build everything from scratch without emotions and in platinum he gets suck in by garatina
MrHumanBeing more like, I will destroy all of humanity for no reason whatsoever other than doing whatever we wanna, and make everyone have make everyone have orange hair
Lysandre finally gets some respect. I hated this guy in XY because he was easy, forgettable, and out of place. This game made him the second most challenging bad guy in my opinion because of his freaking mega and yveltal that just heals lol. He finally gets my respect and good for him.
The Groudon Guy I do agree on your opinion,I really do,but there are a few things wrong with it, 1)the first 10 seconds would either belong to a pretty serious boss or an old timer but more serious(bowser) 2)the theme would belong to a boss with a pretty universal or worldly destruction motive, which none of the super Mario bosses has yet to do 3)the boss that fits this theme has to have a great design to it and a perfect set of attacks for the music and the boss itself to be a boss to remember These are just a few reasons why I agree and disagree with you The GroudonGuy
You know, people may haze Team Flare for...well, everything. But they did lead many successes in their plan leading up to the climax. So you beat the members raiding the power plant? They still stole enough electricity for their goal. So you cleared them out of the Poké Ball Factory? They still got all the Poké Balls they need. So you kept them from catching that one Abomasnow? They can still get a lot of other Pokémon to make up for that. Considering their plans only truly fell apart when three Trainers pushed through their final resistance and woke Xerneas/Yveltal out of the Ultimate Weapon? Lysandre was pretty dang close to succeeding. Only a final push led by our player characters could truly end his plans.
"I don't know, his original theme was almost perfect. I doubt they could really improve it that muc-" "Perfect. It is now perfect! They made it PERFECT!"
He’s the only boss that dies. In X, he becomes immortal but in the midst of his transformation, is crushed by debris in his own base. In Y, he tries to kill you, but to no avail and eventually backfired his machine, killing himself in the process due to a large explosion. It’s terrifying that he is dead, but with X and Y soon to receive remakes in the next six to nine years, we may see him in a new light.
Lysander & Team flare is Cyrus & Team Galactic done right. Seriously Lysander wanted a new world, and almost succeeded & his motive was better than Cyrus who literally wanted to create a world without human spirit so he could live alone, like that’s fckn dumb 😂
Idk man, Cyrus was pushed to nihilism and emotionlessness out of his family's unreasonable standards, making him believe emotion was weakness. Lysandre... Wants to genocide everyone he considers less than perfect and his posse are just glam Nazis. Like, don't get me wrong, the man is INTENSE as far as villains go, and he's really intimidating, but Team Flare in general are just really hard to take seriously. The grunts look ridiculous, the skinhead admins are just barely elevated grunts, the named characters with the goggles all just melt into one another and I can't remember any of their names, Xerosic is alright but he's the outlier. It's one extremely scary man and a fairly good mad scientist surrounded by an entire circus. So, hey. At least Lysandre was cool.
I don’t understand why people dislike Lysandre. I feel he is an excellent villain, for his sheer ruthlessness and absolute nihilism. I do feel they could have expanded on his role as the creator of the Holo-Caster and a major technology mogul in Kalos. Hopefully GameFreak can remedy this if they ever make a Pokémon Z.
Because he's a *moron*. In theory, I could see him being a good villain with his same general goals of preserving beauty and eliminating the selfish... except did you *see* his team? He'd have accomplished his goal far better by collecting Team Flare in one place and turning the weapon on *them*.
it mostly due to the fact that the mere existence of the team flare grunts prove that he's an utter asshole with no clear foresight into what makes people worth something and whose nonse is just that...nonsense. He's basically as vile as ghetsis but tries to pretend he's well intentioned. hoenstly this does make him a memorable villain, I guess people just find his team annoying.
I think this is one of my favourite pokemon boss songs: it starts off like your standard JRPG boss music, with the orchestral beginning, but then it kicks into high gear with the harsh synths and electric guitar and artificial chorus. It really strikes me as the perfect theme for someone who exudes a veneer of class, under which lies a twisted core of obsession, sadism, and sociopathy.
I think this theme fits Lysandre way more than his X and Y one. That one sounded like just a remix of the Team Flare Grunt theme. This theme actually fits Lysandre and sounds real awesome too!
The x and y one is like the crazy and chaotic side of Lysandre. The one from US and UM sounds like the serious side of him because he FRICKING DESTROYED THE WORLD
Number 27 I couldn’t agree more. After listening to the Grunt theme so many times, the boss music being so similar made it one of my least favorite tracks. This version? Makes my top 10 easily
He went from being one of the easiest villains to beat in XY to one of the hardest villains to beat in USUM. And his battle theme has somehow been remixed to perfection. God damn.
X/Y needed a third version to iron out all the issues so much. Gen 6 shows how much a third gen is important to the reception of a gen, cuz holy shit D/P are trash compared to Platinum, and BD/SP are trash compared to even Platinum. Gen 4 is one of the most well-loved gens, but that's only because platinum hard carries the gen. Look at how just a theme remix and a very, very slight tweak of the villain's personality (he reached his goal) made both the theme and the villain just insanely memorable in the zeitgeist and just shows how much X/Y needed that third version holy shit.
I feel Lysandre is actually a villain with the most 'depth' compared to the others. What he wants is a world with no war, and in his eyes, a 'war' happened because humans are naturally greedy. In his words, when something cannot be shared, people will fight for it, as someone must live with it and some without and as such. Obviously, you cannot talk it out with everyone, so Lysandre had a horrible plan: Killing a lot of people and reducing human population. It's strongly hinted that Lysandre himself doesn't want to resort to this plan, but if it's the only way to make his world a reality, there's no other choice. He even considers to completely annihilate Pokemons because they can be used by humans to commit wrongdoings. Imagine trying to make the internet a better place by slaughtering all the trolls.
One thing I always found ironic about Lysandre is not the fact that he's obviously a villain and yet no one can tell, but also the fact that his character is definitely based off a certain man in history, Adolf. It may seem like a random coincidence as many villains are based on Adolf, but I think that Pokémon MEANT to make him be based off Adolf. The goal of Lysandre holds a striking resemblance to that of Adolf's goals. Lysandre's goal is to "create a perfect world in which only a select group of people are allowed to live." Lysandre also wished to commit mass genocide against everyone he deemed imperfect. Adolf's goal was to eliminate everyone who he deemed to be imperfect, (this includes groups like the Jewish people, Black people, Soviets, Polish people, Gay people, etc). As this may be seen as a mere mistake by the Pokémon company, I think that they meant for Lysandre to be Adolf. The biggest reason I think this is because Lysandre created a device that would help people of Kalos communicate with Holograms. Lysandre could have chosen ANY name for the communication device like maybe the "Holo-Com," or something like that. Instead, the name he came up with, was I kid you not, the "Holo Caster." This name strongly resembles that of the horrific event that killed Millions of people, that was orchestrated by Adolf and the Nazis. Compare the two words; "Holo Caster," and "Holocaust" and tell me that Lysandre is not based on Adolf, and that team Flare is not based on the Nazis. Now imagine this. The version of Lysandre in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon was successful in his plans. This would mean that he killed the population of Kalos that he deemed to be "imperfect," and killed them without a second thought. He also plans to do the same thing to the people of Alola. Lysandre also came into power after the great pokémon war. In the years of 1914-1918 (WWI), the war was referred as "The great war," because people doubted and hoped that there would never be another war as big as the first war. Since Lysandre is killed, the second world war is prevented, BUT since the version of him in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon was successful in his plans, this would mean that he perfectly executed his plans, and started the second World War (or the Second Pokémon War), and he won it. That is a feat that even the Nazis and Adolf could not accomplish. Taking all this into consideration, I think Lysandre is based on Adolf, and not only is the Pokémon company well aware of that, but they also made a pun based on a tragic event in history. Well played, Pokémon.
In the case of pokemon Y, yes. Remember there's Lysandre X (wanted to give immortality to the world) and Lysandre Y (whom wanted to destroy it as he found humans are greedy in nature) depending on your version.
clickbang No? That happened in X too. He only threatened immortality on the Player in X so that the Player has to witness everyone else aging and dying
AlmightyArceus YES, which means it should NEVER happen, or X Version is canon over Y Version because in X, he is still alive under the rubble because the weakened laser blast allegedly brings immortality to anyone struck by it, or he could have faked his death in Y.
I hope one day in the future, when we eventually get to the Gen 6 remakes, I hope they flesh out Lysandre more. He was one of the best parts of Gen 6, and I feel making him a bigger part of the story for you to grow with and see his malice or watch him go from "A perfect world" to "you cannot exist in this world for it to be perfect". I hope one day Gen 6 gets the respect it deserves, whether it's from a remake, or something similar to what Gen 5 is getting now.
This. This right here. Exactly what I want to happen. X and Y were my first Pokémon games, and I am quite the avid Kalos defender. I would buy a theoretical Eternal X and Endless Y in a heartbeat if it fixed Kalos’ difficulty problem and fleshed out the characters more. I suppose all we can do is hope…
They kinda need to do an XY remake considering they basically said they wanted to Z but couldn't because of Sun and Moon. Also, Gogoat hasn't been catchable in a game since and that is a CRIME.
You are right, i love so much gen 6 but the persons only hate it for the friends? this is so stupid, the persons only hate gen 6 for the friends? Please tell me what her problem
People love Lysandre. In USUM. He, just like nearly everything else, is terribly underdeveloped in X/Y and gen 6 really needed that third game to iron out those problems like how Plat did for gen 4.
I enjoy his outfit, also I want pokemon Z or X/Y sequels called X and Y squared with two looking like a Z. The fact that he succeeded made him much more terrifying since he isn't bluffing.
A lot of the Pokemon music uses regional styles or instruments based on the real world region the game is based on. This was starting to be more obvious in Black and White (there's a lot of drumming and flutes like something you'd expect out of a military march ensemble with the Resharhim/Zekrom theme). Lysandre's music has something like a classic baroque approach, a music style that was once considered beautiful, and mixes it with hard electronic and rock sounds. You can make the style out way more in the original Team Flare theme which uses something that sounds like a harpsichord. The result is something that you'd expect would be something you could dance to, but just ends up sounding very dissonant but powerful.
M0D Alola uses a lot of tribal drums and has that tropical feel. Ultra uses synths and trap-like beats, Aether uses a lot of piano and violins, and skull uses electro and vocals.
Replaying through them today... wow is the pacing weird, and the storytelling extremely awkward and poorly done. Its pokemon, so I'm not exactly expecting anything world shattering on a story level, but *wow* it's bad.
*Giovanni* I am the evilness itself.. I am the Lucifer himself as a human... *Maxie* As Stalin I take my pride of establishing the Lands... *Archie* However as Nixon I will sympathize to the Pokemon.. *Cyrus* The Universe is mine! I am Kim jong-un. *Ghetsis* Heh! I will make Unova great again, as I am Trump. *Lysandre* I will stay in your great team, for Napoleon Bonaparte I am.
I love how all the evil boss themes got updated. These guys aren't messing around, they're from timelines where they actually succeeded in their plans, now they're out to conquer Alola, and further beyond. You can easily tell this from the music, it's more upbeat than how it was originally. I think Lysandre is more intimidating in these games and and in the anime, more so than how he was presented in X and Y games.
@@galarprince depending on which version of the X\US or Y/UM games he either gives immortality to those he views as perfect or kills off those he doesn't view as perfect

@@PASTELXENON To be fair alot of Castlevania remixes are pretty techno: Vampire killer (Chronicles), Final boss (Chronicles), Vampire Killer (Symphony of the Night Saturn), Beginning (Symphony of the Night Saturn). And there are much more that I just can't remember...
I still don't buy this guy or Cyrus taking orders from Giovanni. Ghetsis I'll let slide, because although he's easily the strongest, he has a compulsive need to manipulate the one in charge. But Cyrus and Lysandre are leagues ahead of Giovanni. If the player hadn't wiped them all out in one fell swoop, one of these two are taking the seat of power from Giovanni.
I wouldn't say leagues ahead of Giovanni they just had completely different ideals, while others like Cyrus and Lysandre had plans for either mass genocide or creating a new Universe, Giovanni's goal is just to conquer and have total world or maybe even dimensional domination. But I agree with them not wanting to side with him realistically, they have completely different motives.
I mean it makes sense. They just got transported in a new dimension out of nowhere, it makes sense they'd take orders from the one who did it, as they realize he has an enormous amount of power
Just listening to the first ten seconds of his theme is chilling. You get the impression that this is a man who deep down has lost all respect for life. He's dead inside. All that is left is a monster who takes joy only in taking more lives.
Lusamine - a world full of space jellyfish and human hybrids Guzma - a world full of gangsters, hoodlums and YA BOI!!! that would be quite something....
I'd imagine Guzma's world to just be a land of weirdos jojo-posing at one another and settling their disputes with rap and/or dance battles. Actually...that sounds hilariously fun.
I know most people dont like lysandre but i always really like the guy( maybe its becouse im a pretty laid back guy). And the best part of him was his theme and they managed to make it even better. God damn i want this game so bad
King Daniel The Dandy i dont dislike lyssandre, i disliked his team xD rocket runts "We are feared and ha you should give us your pokes now bc we intimidate" Magma and aqua "We strive to our goals and while struggle we have a goal" Galactic "Just get out of our way because you dont understand the importance of our goal to us" Plasma "Many of us were lured into this group with the promise of a better standing between pokemon and human." Flare "Ohno this world is doomed but we are pretty so logically we should stay" flare baaasically is a more selfish version of galactic.
Mizu Personally, I think he's one of my favorite leaders, mainly because I like a villain with good intentions. All Lysandre is trying to do is help the world, and his crimes are the only way he believes will work. To me, it borders on beautiful, a great example of a villain who is only a villain because of his means of achieving a noble goal.
The wildest thing about these dudes plans succeeding in alternate universe means Arceus slept on everyone's prayers. "Genocide? Rewriting reality? Not my problem."-Arceus likely.
people would say cyrus destroyed his universe and all but remember that cyrus made another universe but without spirit/emotion so he brought back everyone in his universe while lysandre just killed everyone and everything on earth expect for team flare
i like how in pokemon X/Y you hear a gun being loaded at the start of his theme and in his USUM battle the sound is absent implying he metaphorically and physically pulled the trigger which is insane attention to detail by the sound design team
They weren't threatening at all, they were too flamboyant, and although I like the idea of genocide in Pokémon, it's also overused and they did it in the most cookie-cutter way, with a Legendary Pokémon powering an ancient alchemical nuke.
His original theme sounded too much like Team Flare's regular battle music. But this? This is the theme of a man who destroyed the world once and will gladly do it again.
God dang this was the hardest Rainbow Rocket fight of them all. His team was already pretty stacked but then he has a Mega Evolved Gyarados and a legendary from X or Y. Sheesh, this fight had me clenched.
Lysandre: "Hey guys, Dorito Man here to fuck your shit up, place random buttons everywhere, make you push them, and did I mention I have a SICK BEARD!!! OOOOOH YEEEAAAAAHHH!!!!" Me: O_O "What have you been smoking?"
Maxie: dude wtf I thought we were trying to do good things Giovanni: remind me of your plan again? Maxie: use Groudon to create more land for people and Pokémon to live on, I’m not a genocidal manic! Giovanni: …how did that go again? Maxie: …point taken…
I actually found Lysandre to be among the scariest people in pokemon. He was like, a legit nazi. He wanted to kill everyone and everything except team flare because they weren't perfect (from what I remember). Plus his music was always badass.
I think team flare's plans are _literally_ based off the holocaust, as their goal is to "kill everyone who isn't perfect," and they made the *holocaster.* If that doesn't sell it, idk what will
How i feel ab the remixes: Rocket Theme is good, but i like the HG and SS version better. Archie and Maxie are honestly kinda eh, ORAS easily wins. Cyrus is great but i prefer the original just a tiny bit. Ghetsis is as good as the original. Lysandre is easily the best remix, it's even better than the original, and THAT DRUM BEAT IN THE BACKGROUND OMG
Except for Team Rocket having nothing to do with Mewtwo's creation in the games. Let's be honest, Mewtwo's only in Episode RR to stop Giovanni from being anticlimactic.
@@mataeusdixonsteele3831 in the original pokemon ruby amd sapphire games they did not, however in the remakes omega ruby and alpha sapphire they did with maxie having a mega campurant and Archie having a mega sharkpido, so in pokemon UsUm you are facing the ruby and sapphire version of these 2, not the omega ruby and alpha sapphire versions
Commits global genocide but still continues to smile. You can hear screams of pain and agony in his other theme but now nobody is left but the Grunts. Team Flare’s the only ones stayin alive, stayin alive After Lysandre’s Global genocide!
Contrary to what you might think, most people did like Lysandre, but simply hated Team Flare. Arguably speaking, Lysandre with an actually half-competent group would be considered one of the best villains in the series since he actually has a point regarding his rampant inequity philosophy (albeit he took the worst method of fulfilling it)
Lysandre As a character wasn't bad but the team he leaded was bloody ridiculous. Team Flare was one of X and Ys biggest downsides Followed by horrid pacing and disappointing post game content.
The funny thing is he probably did no such thing. Just look at what the first 4 say when you battle each of them... - Maxie woke up on this side after being swallowed by a fissure. - Archie woke up on this side after being swamped by waves. - Cyrus woke up on this side wondering if it was his new world after being attacked by a shadow. - Lysandre woke up on this side after being engulfed in light. They even have Lysandre wonder if he'd have ended up there if he'd met a trainer like you just to kick start your brain into realizing what was going on... The answer is obviously no because people talking about the leaks were being partially retarded. They "won" but they actually lost. They didn't have the other characters to stop them and thus had no one to protect them from the fallout of their bad ideas save Giovanni pulling them through.
So how does this sound: Lysandre: I know what it's like to lose. To wish fervently for something, yet to fail nonetheless... Dread it. Run from it. Destiny comes all the same. But now it's here. Or should I say... *I am.* Am I the only one who thinks Lysandre is like Thanos? I mean, he's trying to reduce the population at the expense of many lives, then ends up firing up his weapon, and then pisses off the wrong people.

Lysandre and Team Flare weren't the greatest villains, but this theme is flippin' amazing. It really conveys the feeling of a despairing, genocidal maniac. Also, HIS MEGA GYARADOS AND XERNEAS RUINED ME
Just realized that team flare was the last true villains. Team rainbow rocket is evil sure but it's basically team rocket but with Skittles. Team skull and the Aether foundation were misguided and pretty much did a 180 in the story. Team yell ain't evil for shit. Team star also did a 180. either that or he made them all immortal because the weapon flushed the world with life and brought back the dead, which is terrifying in itself. imagine the megafauna and megaflora from BC coming back during civilisation. even if we were immortal, it'd essentially still be an apocalypse, just one in the form of nature on steroids.

And even with all that, he's a very underwhelming Villain with extremely missed potential, just like Rose

I need XY remakes so I can level a Fennekin, the cutest starter ever.

He'd have accomplished his goal far better by collecting Team Flare in one place and turning the weapon on *them*.
because noone likes good villains in pokemon that aren't Giovanni
it mostly due to the fact that the mere existence of the team flare grunts prove that he's an utter asshole with no clear foresight into what makes people worth something and whose nonse is just that...nonsense. He's basically as vile as ghetsis but tries to pretend he's well intentioned.

We're going back to Kalos next year. Time will show how much of the region's untapped potential is unleashed then.

Lysandre: I got a Mythical and a Mega
Giovanni: That's cute.
Lysandre was actually the harder one of those two. Giovanni's Mega Mewtwo was OHKO'd by my Kommo-o, which was at least 10 levels lower.
Thomas Halsted i just used Zoroark disguised as Hawlucha. It felt like cheating lmao
Thomas Halsted I one shotted his mewtwo with a Moongeist Beam from Ultra Necrozma.
Legendary, Mythical in kalos are volcanion and diancie
Giovanni is much easier. i swept his team with Primarina and Ninetales lol
Just remember, this version of Lysandre succeeded in his plans. That makes him significantly more terrifying than before.
So if Lysandre is from a world where he accomplished his goal, does that mean that world is completely destroyed?
In the case of pokemon Y, yes. Remember there's Lysandre X (wanted to give immortality to the world) and Lysandre Y (whom wanted to destroy it as he found humans are greedy in nature) depending on your version.
Well in Y his goal was to kill everyone except himself and Team Flare
Marduk wait no, his goal was to kill off the unworthy population due to the lack of resources for everyone
clickbang No?
If for no other reason than so those of us who missed out on the 3DS can finally have a Fennekin.

@@youtube-kit9450 I like his character design and how insane he is but his character in terms of how he's written is awful.

The result is something that you'd expect would be something you could dance to, but just ends up sounding very dissonant but powerful.
summary of that paragraph: this music is amazing
This is also the case in Sun and Moon for the most part, but it definitely drastically in styles when you reach Aether and the Ultra Beast stuff.

Because for example, they are into Ultra Beasts, Ultra Beasts are not from there, soooo maybe thats an explanation...

Well its either that or his form in the world was severely weakened
He was busy having tea with necrozma. He didn't get back until after lysandre nuked the universe.
''The opposing Xerneas used Geomancy!''
*_Cue immediate pants shitting_*
I wish Geomancy was banned in VGC
This is why you use Steel types with bulk. The only one anybody insists on using is the frail af Lucario.
*I can't stop laughing at this* 🤣🤣
Topsy-Turvey, Haze: Allow us to introduce ourselves.
I shudder to think of the amount of people and Pokémon who perished in the dimension this Lysandre hails from...
people would say cyrus destroyed his universe and all but remember that cyrus made another universe but without spirit/emotion so he brought back everyone in his universe while lysandre just killed everyone and everything on earth expect for team flare
i like how in pokemon X/Y you hear a gun being loaded at the start of his theme and in his USUM battle the sound is absent implying he metaphorically and physically pulled the trigger which is insane attention to detail by the sound design team
I loved X and Y, but I really didn't like Team Flare all that much.
I mean, I guess wanting to kill everyone was cool, but still.
Agreed, same for me.
I was also not a big fan of their theme until USUM came out to remix Lysandre's.
Their only redeeming quality is this song.
mootpoot boi even then it’s too easy
I mean, the elite 4 don’t even have more than 4 Pokemon, come on
They weren't threatening at all, they were too flamboyant, and although I like the idea of genocide in Pokémon, it's also overused and they did it in the most cookie-cutter way, with a Legendary Pokémon powering an ancient alchemical nuke.
Team Rocket
Upgrade
Team Plasma
Upgrade
Team Flare
GO BACK
Team Skull
I SAID GO BACK
Took off that gun sound effect in the beginning.
VideoHDGameHD And the Wurmple noise
VideoHDGameHD because they already fired the gun and killed everyone, he’s from a universe where he was successful
VideoHDGameHD but got an even better sick nasty intro!
VideoHDGameHD it sounded more like a match getting put on fire imo
they even have the button thing in the actual game!
Naw. 2nd hardest for me. That f-ing Hydreigon... Uuuugggghhhhh
Gamefreak: This isn't much different
Me: *can live life normally*
Gamefreak: *inserts new z-moves, ubs, and DORITO MAN*

😂😂
"DORITO MAN"
not gonna laugh
not...
gonna...
*dies of laughter*
Lysandre: "Hey guys, Dorito Man here to fuck your shit up, place random buttons everywhere, make you push them, and did I mention I have a SICK BEARD!!! OOOOOH YEEEAAAAAHHH!!!!"
Me: O_O "What have you been smoking?"
*_DORITO MAN_*
Giovanni: Ok so tell me what you accomplished
Lysandre: I committed mass genocide and killed every human and pokemon on the planet except my team
Cyrus:
@@MariOmor1 hello arceus
@@catalyst539 who is this Arceus you speak of, I'm an Angry Bird
Maxie: dude wtf I thought we were trying to do good things
Giovanni: remind me of your plan again?
Maxie: use Groudon to create more land for people and Pokémon to live on, I’m not a genocidal manic!
Giovanni: …how did that go again?
Maxie: …point taken…
Archie: at least we weren't trying to commit genocide for the sake of genocide
I actually found Lysandre to be among the scariest people in pokemon. He was like, a legit nazi. He wanted to kill everyone and everything except team flare because they weren't perfect (from what I remember). Plus his music was always badass.
James Matthews Don't forget that Cyrus wanted to erase the human spirit and become god
I think team flare's plans are _literally_ based off the holocaust, as their goal is to "kill everyone who isn't perfect," and they made the *holocaster.* If that doesn't sell it, idk what will
@@platinumnova6485 The holocaster.. holy shit I never realized...
Hitler from france... Doesn't make sense
Hitler was born in Austria then went to germany and the the caos that we all know and hate
yup, he's a genocidal maniac
How i feel ab the remixes:
Rocket Theme is good, but i like the HG and SS version better.
Can't wait when this music gets a remake in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
*Lysandre and Ghetcis are the only villains to appear in more than one sequel, this was just a curiosity.*
And the award for Best Villain Theme Remix in USUM goes to...Lysandre!
I liked this one way more than the X and Y version.
Lysandre: Hey can I copy your homework?
Cyrus: Sure just change it up a little.
In my opinion way better than the original. This one and Ghetsis are my favourite.
CryoNios those two themes are the only good ones. The others are absolute shit (Cyrus, Maxie and Archie)
CryoNios same
CryoNios DEEEEEEEEEEEENNIS!
Radiant Raichu Cyrus's remix isn't that bad.
My favorites are Archie/Maxie and this one
0:58 absolutely insane to add a breakbeat to a pokemon theme, love it honestly
WE BETTER GET AN EVEN BETTER VERSION OF THIS THEME FOR LEGENDS Z,
I think its kinda cool he's the only one with mega evolution aside from Giovanni.
They could've given everyone Megas but they stayed true to canon.
Except for Team Rocket having nothing to do with Mewtwo's creation in the games. Let's be honest, Mewtwo's only in Episode RR to stop Giovanni from being anticlimactic.
@@gengarzilla1685 they probably did, it just wasnt mentioned in the games, the notes were just uptates on what happened so the workers dont forget
Wait, did archie and Maxie have megas
@@mataeusdixonsteele3831 they didn't, when you battle them they only have regular Kygore/Groudon
0:58 - 1:29 always sounded epic in both the original and the USUM remake
The theme of "My mixtape would actually fit me and my fellow world ender across from me if these regions weren't riddled with fairy types."
Even better than the original imo
Commits global genocide but still continues to smile.
You can hear screams of pain and agony in his other theme but now nobody is left but the Grunts.
Team Flare’s the only ones stayin alive, stayin alive
After Lysandre’s Global genocide!
Elite Lunala i read that to the rhythm of Stayin' Alive and it fits.
All of its members are sadists - they love seeing the victims suffer, don't they?
They be like
YOUR NOT STAYING ALIVE STAYING ALIVE
The most darkest theme out of all the new remixes. These games are amazing! Good job, Game Freak!
"Professor Sycamore, can you come pick up your husband? He's trying to wipe out mankind again."
lol
*holds in laugh*
This made me smile so wide. ^^
gay french men
It becomes pretty dark when you realized that the Sycamore from *this* Lysandre's world most likely is dead.
I love how Pokemon improves the themes when a game has a remake or the character is in again.
"This world is imperfect. If only I could wipe away the impurities."
I'm probably one of the only people who liked Lysandre. He was deluded but passionate.
In my opinion, he was the best aspect of XY's story, besides the stuff with Looker and Emma.
Contrary to what you might think, most people did like Lysandre, but simply hated Team Flare. Arguably speaking, Lysandre with an actually half-competent group would be considered one of the best villains in the series since he actually has a point regarding his rampant inequity philosophy (albeit he took the worst method of fulfilling it)
I love and Lysandre and whole Team Flare, they just make my heart as hot as Flare, and leave me stylish as Flare :D
joshua kim Really? I thought everyone hated Team Flare (and to a much larger extent, Gen 6) as a whole.
Lysandre As a character wasn't bad but the team he leaded was bloody ridiculous. Team Flare was one of X and Ys biggest downsides Followed by horrid pacing and disappointing post game content.
Yo where the Shotgun at?
Nick Macias why do people think the sound at the beginning was a shotgun? It sounded like electricity to me...
I always thought it was the weird gear he had on
Flint....and....steel
"Steel and blood"-Otto von Bismarck.
Well he doesn't need "shotguns" to kill people anymore. He has already accomplished his goal on his universe
In Pokemon X and Y, they should’ve used his original theme for his first two battles, and this one for the last,
Also the player should only fight him once
@@jackson2531 lol no
This theme wasn’t a thing yet.

*burns in alola*
The X/Y version of this highlights the raging fires of his insanity. This seems to show the smoldering aftermath of his genocidal plan.
True.
Though this song can still represent the "smoldering aftermath"...at least in his mind.
@@platinumoni4662 OH NOOO ETERNAL FLOETTE
@@RunicSigils Actually, I might be wrong, but if he used Xerneas, wouldnt he be fine ? Just immortal ?
So how does this sound:
Lysandre: I know what it's like to lose. To wish fervently for something, yet to fail nonetheless... Dread it. Run from it. Destiny comes all the same. But now it's here. Or should I say... *I am.*
Am I the only one who thinks Lysandre is like Thanos? I mean, he's trying to reduce the population at the expense of many lives, then ends up firing up his weapon, and then pisses off the wrong people.
I also think Lysander is Thanos
This suits Lysandre a lot since he killed everyone
You know they mean business if all of their pokemons were caught in masterballs
It's a bit strange that Maxie and Archie used their Master Balls on Poochyena. '-'
WE ARE SO BACK BOIS
The theme that plays when Lysandre's holograms will prevail
Lysandre and Team Flare weren't the greatest villains, but this theme is flippin' amazing. It really conveys the feeling of a despairing, genocidal maniac.
Also, HIS MEGA GYARADOS AND XERNEAS RUINED ME
This is and ghetsis' new theme are the only ones i prefer over the original and i freaking loved lysandre's old theme
Whoever mixed this, ATE, and left no crumbs.
He’s alive? Someone alert Sycamore, he’ll be happy that his husband is alive.
Jonas Hitchcock read the manga he still alive in the manga not in the anime...
old gold I was talking about the game Lysandre, but ok.
Jonas Hitchcock Sycamore's probably dead.
He comes from an alternative universe. One where he won. Meaning he caused global extinction.
Realistic Nonsense eh, only thing he was good for was giving me a charmander and a chespin/froakie
While I do like all the boss themes, I think Ghetsis and Lysandre got the best remixes
Akkipeddi Sudhakar true true
Akkipeddi Sudhakar Exactly what i tought
Team Aqua and Magma Themes aren't doing it for me unfortunatly.
Such a shame cause the Gen 6 remake is one of my all time favourites...
For me lysandre and Maxie and archie theme I love the most
Dennis was more of a remaster in my opinion
Just realized that team flare was the last true villains. Team rainbow rocket is evil sure but it's basically team rocket but with Skittles. Team skull and the Aether foundation were misguided and pretty much did a 180 in the story. Team yell ain't evil for shit. Team star also did a 180. Lysandre and team flare literally wanted to kill everyone
No team skull was just outcasts and the foundation didn’t know how truly insane there leader was like damn she became tentacle monster in pursuit of perfection

Kinda sad they left out the gun cocking sound from X/Y, but regardless this still sounds pretty badass
I think it would have sounded a bit out of place with this new style.

It's so funky and still intimidating. I love it

Best remix out of all the bosses in my opinion
Close second for me, tied with Ghetsis. But the Magma/Aqua Leader remix takes it for me.
My jaw hit the floor harder than the bass
The lamest team leader, but turns out he managed to achieve his goal. That's what makes it the most scarring, he actually killed everyone except his team, he won.
