Hey McKenzie, just a FYI, in case Spencer and you may not be aware. If Spencer ever uses linseed oil to stain or color shelves, etc, linseed oil soaked rags are known to spontaneous combust if allowed to dry with it on them so make sure you put them in a bucket of water and rinse them well before you allow them to dry and just in case never store them inside a building that could catch on fire. Stay safe you two!
You Sir are absolutely 💯 correct. My brother was finishing up on building some Christmas gifts he made in his wood shop and decided to leave the rag in his shop to finish in the morning since it was only 2 days until Christmas. He was awoken at 3 in the morning to his dogs barking and fire alarms. He barely got out of his 100+ year old home. It burnt to the ground. The dogs were safe and found hiding in the back yard.
My brother had just lost his wife of 45 years to cancer the year before and he was always a safety nut EXCEPT this one time is all it took. He was a woodworker and built beautiful furniture and grandfather clocks. Everything he had built over the years that they had kept was gone.
Find another product to work with.
@@Cyndy101 I’m so sorry to hear this and about your sister-in-law too. Grateful for you sharing this bc it is such an important reminder about rags soaked in Linseed Oil.
All of us have been warned about "oil soaked rags" spontaneously combusting, so we are careful when changing our motor oil soaked rags. The problem is motor oil soaked rags will not spontaneously burst into flame, it is only seed oil soaked rags like linseed, or corn oil, olive oil and so forth. My wife used some linseed oil to clean some 100 year old beams in our 100 year old building and tossed the rags into a trash can. The next morning the entire building was filled with smoke. Thankfully while the rags began smoking there was not enough of them to actually burst into flames.
Linseed oil is not the only culprit for starting fires. I, w/o thinking, left an OIL BASED stain rag on my picnic table, and the sun did the rest. No more picnic table…Well, it had a nice charred seat at any rate.

I've heard how the wild pigs are a problem in Texas, and looking at those babies I can see why!
Yup! Rabbits *wish* they could multiply that fast! They destroy entire crops, bust fences, and chase off native wildlife by eating all their foods and leaving nothing habitable behind.
Yep I just made a post that they need to cull those pigs because they are an invasive species. They will absolutely destroy every inch of that property if allowed to roam without culling.
Also, you might want to make some kind of a parking block/stop for that ETV so you don't accidentally bump one of those expensive solar panels
I've followed you guys since you brought the first containers, I haven't seen all the videos, but I've been very pleased to peek in occasionally and see every positive development - including the mistakes and failures. I am very happy to see that you have finally moved your things inside the house, I am glad to see your children growing up healthy and happy. You are an example of persistence and I thank you very much for sharing your tenacity and fortitude in this difficult mission. Congratulations on this achievement.
My man sometimes catches part of a episode from time to time when I'm watching...he seems to catch things yall hav3 done more then once like painting the exterior... he just walked by and said it "ain't uncontianed if it ain't done twice" when Spencer had to retape the boards. That's how real life works so I like they include the real way things go!

I remember installing tile on a bedroom floor with a baby on my lap. Said baby is now 40 years old and a special ed. high school teacher, basketball and volleyball coach. Enjoy it, time flies incredibly fast.

Watching the young children growing up so fast and you Kenzie holding cam is such a precious moment. Spencer's new toy is so him and especially if there are other projects for the future, it will come in handy. I remembered when you all started this build and look at it now, wow. You both give inspiration to many, both as builders, family, and husband and wife. You two are so genuine when working together, it is so far from what is going on today. I’ve put some strips of white electrical tape over the visible parts of those vertical bookshelf rails to make them somewhat less DIY looking. Thank you for making these videos!
Your shipping container home is one of the most beautiful shipping container homes I've seen. Though we can still tell that it is made from shipping containers, it has a much more finished quality to it than some others I've seen that still look life they came straight off the container ship. Congratulations you guys. Move in day has officially arrived. I am SO happy for you.

One you guys are still rocking it.. and two... a real concern.. in the daytime hoggs/pigs don't normally approach like that.. without a doubt they knew you were there.. and still approached.. and now the concern.. one.. they will happily kill and eat the dogs.. easily.. and even more easily you and the babies.. I freaked out when I saw that many hogs bodly out and with that little fear.. if they decide to get you on a walk even if you sacrifice yourselft to battle the hogs.. you will lose.. so.. from someone who has lived in the country my whole life.. hunted my whole life.. and a Texan.. you guys should really adapt and overcome and arm yourself with a rifle.. far easier to use and whiled/aim in preasure multiple attacker situations... un trained and unpracticed pistol shooters will panic most of the time and spray and pray.. I don't fear the snakes, the bobcats, mountain lions, bears, Jaguars, etc... except the pigs.. they are no joke. Congrats on moving in and sorry to be a debbie downer
And yet I hear hogs will eat unwanted vermin, snakes, rats and anything in their path including deer.

At 1345. I could feel that little warm head. My kids are adults now. My Grandson was a lovebug when he was small. You do kind of miss that. YOU GUYS NEED 2 more babies and many add ons to the house. Love to you guys. Love to your babies!! And I love that table. Its nice in that white room.

It's almost like you've traded in your original kids and got older ones. They're growing so fast! Also, the wife has always had fond memories of getting right in there and helping her dad out. They still work together to this day.

I’m so happy that you’re finally getting the porch at your bedroom. Completing a project is liberating and it draws many things to a close so that you can start fresh on new items and ideas. It’s a joy to see that your overall plan is finally coming to an end. Unpacking the remainder of your belongings will take a while. Placing your furniture, etc where they need to be will take some thought. I’m certain you’ve probably discussed this issue already. Your family will feel so relieved to have all the work finished. I’m sure you’ve already come up with several other new projects to do. Spencer you are a workaholic, but you do enjoy time with your family and having alone time too. Hello how are you doing?
This afternoon I decided to level my air-conditioner. My air-conditioner has flowers on the one side and suddenly a snake that was hiding in them race out, stopped and looked back at me before taking off again. We do have Rattle Snakes in our area; and it could just have well been one of them. I still say protecting the family comes first and conservation of something that cause you grief beyond words falls to the very bottom of the list. love the work you two have done and your children are beautiful.
Beau is such a little Gem. She is in there with "DA-DA" on almost everything. Bless her little heart. One other note, concerning the wild hogs on your property. Saw a video on the problem with wild hogs in Texas. It seems as though it has reached an epidemic stage. There are so many, that they are literally tearing up the wild areas of Texas. There are professional "hog wranglers". Some just shoot them and others trap them. Going forward on your property it might be a good idea to contact someone to take care of those hogs before they start tearing up your stuff, and they will if given the opportunity. Just looking out after you all. Love your video.

Are the pigs all wild?? And, all those babies?!! There were like 42 little piggies running around!! Are the cattle wild, too? Or, does someone lease the land from you for them? Do the cattle tolerate the pigs? Is that your supply of meat, the cattle and the pigs? And, a solar- what is that new, fun vehicle called? Does Spencer not ride his motorcycle anymore? Last question: how many acres of land do you own? No wonder you are all having such a good time, you have everything you need, and those kidlets of yours are so darn adorable!! If you don't have the stomach to shoot those hogs yourself, get someone to do it for you. That's way too many, way too close to the house. You need to get it under control before there's a situation you'll regret.

I wish they put in a fully living screened in porch with electric ceiling fans, for when it is hot and bugs are everywhere. It would be so nice for them to have a private space to unwind, right off their bedroom, that is a romantic space for just them and not the kids. They could put in a small drink fridge and two comfortable chairs and ottomans and really turn it into the most romantic space.
You should get one of those teams out to your farm that shoot Feral Hogs at night and they are so good and so accurate and they will take out most of the Feral Hogs in a night or two.🧡🧡

Everything is looking great! I have heard that the wild pigs are reeking havick for farmers in Texas and you certainly have a huge group at your place.
Spencer, please build a fire pit with a pergola over it, a barbecue pit and some planters for growing vegetables and herbs for your family. Oh, build a smoke house so when you begin hunting those boars, you'll be able to smoke the meat or whatever meat you catch or buy. The sky is the limit on all of your property.

You guys are doing great. IMHO you need to get someone to trap those wild hogs off your property or you are looking at a real problem. Talk with the local DNR about it. Keep up the good work.
Hi. Wow, I've never seen such a large group of wild pigs ( called a sounder ) gathered together !! Glad you have a large fenced in yard that protects your solar, water containment n home. Better be on the lookout for those pigs when walking your property. So nice to see your dreams come to life. Peace to you and yours
They really need to get someone to trap those two sounders. Some will trap sounders no cost since they raise up the piglets for meat. Those numbers are distressing so nonchalantly close to the house!

You all deserve it. I have not seen all of your videos, but have seen quite a few. What caught my eye in the very beginning was the 2 containers. I like for fun to design container homes with a software I have. I am no designer, architect or had any formal training. Just like doing it and when I saw about 2 years or so ago what you two were doing, your videos caught my attention. You both have done amazing work and I know you still have things you want to do, but you can now do them from the comfort of your home. A job well done. I salute you.
