Hi @kathleenalbright3908! Several of the physicians we work with for educational content say that using ultrasound to guide their injections makes the injections less painful, as they're not running into bone or cartilege with the needle!
@@monicacooper3495 EOD it boils down to the skill in handling the syringe. I can speak for myself I've always applied a numbing gel + cold spray to take the edge off the prick. Anything that happens after that point is solely as a result of the tip of the needle hitting the the bone or cartilage as mentioned earlier. Needless to mention I do my best not to haha.
I wonder if the doctor can do this without ultrasound image as guidance. I had my first shot and don't know any better but podiatrist didn't use ultrasound.
My shot hurt so bad even with the freeze. I wasn't looking, but I could feel the needle. It seemed he had made circle motions with it. Is this necessary?
Hello @huseyinaydogmus8873 - thank you for your question. Dr. Johnson is using the Clarius L15 scanner for this injection. you can find more information here clarius.com/scanners/l15/

I had mine today, it hurt soooo bad I was in tears!!!! My foot doctor used ultrasound.
Perhaps he freezed her foot before the video started. My doctor sprayed a freezing agent and it wasn't bad.

Will she need to get an injection shot every few months? Is a surgical approach a solution for her foot problem ?

Don't do these! Got a ruptured tendon after the shot.
