Why should that be the case? Am in Beijing now. Even yesterday night, there was a girl out in a mini skirt ( the only surprising factor was why. It was 9 degrees) at 2 am and no one tried to jump her.. Humko hi kyu maut aati hai?
Also, look up the place where the hotel is located. If it's in a bad area, you are going to have a bad time. But thanks to the internet, we can research this before booking

I think ola is much better than Uber in India. Availability and connectivity is more throughout india. Plus Uber doesn't have good reputation. Its banned in many countries. But this is my personal opinion.

Personally speaking, I feel more uncomfortable in an isolated place than a crowded place..where if one person misbehaves, there are many who could help. Just held your head high & look eye to eye.

Why would any one compromise on safety everywhere else but India ? I am a solo female travel vlogger as well, n I recently uploaded my Bhutan experience, and I could sense that place is much safer, emptier , female friendly etc. But all these precautions hold up. U are Right. But, Some Countries are much safer than India. Of course, Accidents can happen anywhere, but a general perception of Safety still holds valid. If you travel to North East, you will safer than rest of the Area. Likewise, Singapore, Japan, Korea, China, Phillipines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia are relatively safer than India. Europe is also safer than India.
My tips - whenever you feel threatened, shout & ask for help from local people & aunties , ladies, who are at that moment present around you. You will get instant help, this is indian culture.

i am indian, I tell you which states are safe for foreigners North India : himachal pradesh, ladakh, jammu and kashmir West India : goa, maharashtra, gujarat South India : kerala, karnataka, tamil nadu, andhra pradesh, telangana North-East India : sikkim, darjeeling, meghalaya, arunachal pradesh, assam, all north-east state are beautiful. my personal favorite states : Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, sikkim, goa, kerala, all north-east states, Must Visit don't go bihar, jharkhnad, uttar pradesh
One thing I would like to add about stare is that...u get stared by women as well..nd it's funny that one an find it creepy..but it's absolutely not...it's just that u dnt see so many foreign people who look way different than u, nd if u r talking to a camera then that's the bonus point..coz thr r so many people out thr still illiterate or may b less known abt gadgets n stuff..they might find it interesting or like u say a purple elephant on street...talking to a lifeless stuff...nd that's not fault of either of thm
Haha so true! There also something like that with touching; some people want to take the blessing from a white person so they touch them. Yesterday a man touched my wrist and brought his hand to his heart. Now I know he's taking a blessing but if you don't know that you might get confused and think it's harrasement. And not only men do this. An old lady did it on a train too haha

There are other Evil western Chumps who have made such cheap videos you can watch them out! When I travelled for the first time in France, I was given a travel tip by few that the black ppl will attack & rob the travellers & be very careful abt them. Also, I made it a point not to take any risk, so I always used to be back to the hotel before 8 pm.
I appreciate the tips. There is just one tip that I disagree with: self defense classes. I'm a dude, and I've taken karate classes for a year. But my karate instructor (I think 3rd dan black belt) made it clear that I should not count on these minimal skills for self defense. He said I'd need to learn for at least two years to count on the techniques. Until then, the best thing to do is to run away from the situation.
Agree. You always want to get away from the situation whenever possible. But if you have no other choice it's good to feel confident when punching somebody.

I've stayed in pahar ganj plenty of times and it's actually super fun as a foreigner. Just don't be out when you don't see other women in the street

One thing I would like to add about stare is that...u get stared by women as well..nd it's funny that one an find it creepy..but it's absolutely not...it's just that u dnt see so many foreign people who look way different than u, nd if u r talking to a camera then that's the bonus point..coz thr r so many people out thr still illiterate or may b less known abt gadgets n stuff..they might find it interesting or like u say a purple elephant on street...talking to a lifeless stuff...nd that's not fault of either of thm
Haha so true! There also something like that with touching; some people want to take the blessing from a white person so they touch them. Yesterday a man touched my wrist and brought his hand to his heart. Now I know he's taking a blessing but if you don't know that you might get confused and think it's harrasement. And not only men do this. An old lady did it on a train too haha

India is diverse in that aspect..like my grandma doesn't allow me to touch her feet for "goddess" thing, but my brother have to..haha... blessings r more oral..they just say ..jeete raho(live long)..but once I met one really cute grandma from Himachal...she kissed my knuckles nd blessed me..that was cute..!!

Soumya? Why are you interested in scams? Take care of the mind it is the biggest scamster. We Indians are also being fooled by the western crooks. There are other Evil western Chumps who have made such cheap videos you can watch them out!
The western NGOs, Missionaries and Media agencies are working heavily against India to give it a bad name and form a bad image!
When I travelled for the first time in France, I was given a travel tip by few that the black ppl will attack & rob the travellers & be very careful abt them. Also, I made it a point not to take any risk, so I always used to be back to the hotel before 8 pm.
I appreciate the tips. There is just one tip that I disagree with: self defense classes. I'm a dude, and I've taken karate classes for a year. But my karate instructor (I think 3rd dan black belt) made it clear that I should not count on these minimal skills for self defense. He said I'd need to learn for at least two years to count on the techniques. Until then, the best thing to do is to run away from the situation.
Agree. You always want to get away from the situation whenever possible. But if you have no other choice it's good to feel confident when punching somebody.
