Fall Series 2016: Republic Services 2447

This will be my last single truck post of 2016, as by request I will be publishing a 2 Part "Garbage Trucks: The Best of 2016" series on the final two Fridays of the year, and I would say this is ending on a pretty high note. Here we have 2447 picking up trash in my city on a late November Tuesday morning. 2212 was down, so this they had this up here covering the route. I'm glad I finally found this truck on a route that was a lot better for filming, as the heavy setouts with the leaves had him using the rear load quite a bit. Hope you guys enjoy watching this one as much as I did shooting it!
The route was up for bid vacant at the time I shot this, so they had one of swing drivers up running it. A big thanks to him for making this video possible!!!

The Mult-pack is still an interesting thing. It's basically a Python with a RL tailgate. I wonder if Heil had a lot of kinks to to workout with this type of truck considering two packers work against each other. Wonder if Heil still makes these? Great video!

It's interesting for sure! Yep, that's pretty much exactly what it is. The two packers can cause issues, you can't really pack the truck out because you will either send trash out the top or mess up the rear load. According to Heil's site, they still make them. I know the City of Cleveland bought a bunch this year. Glad you enjoyed the video!

I wonder if the Heil multipack will ever take off. You could send one truck out to a small town or a rural area and have it service all the cans quickly and service the dumpsters as well. Yeah you can do the same with a rear loader or even a side loader but it sure would be faster at servicing all your residential stops.

Awesome video really enjoyed it. I love watching the zarns get picked up. I really enjoy watching these trucks and I love seeing all the leaves get picked up very entertaining. But I don't understand why people put out bags of leaves on the side of there bin and there bin isn't even full.

Yard waste pickup just isn't popular here, I don't have any good reason why though

I actually pointed this packer body out to my boss hoping he would consider it for some of our HOA accounts that want once a month clean ups. He said anything that would require this truck to pick up would require two men so this truck is pointless. I asked what kind of weak people have you had driving for you? The idea fell on deaf ears.

Yeah well I don't work there anymore and he sold to Republic of all things lol. I went back to WM where we run Curottos for that very purpose.
