- Well, at one point, it sounded as if all of these trucks were on their way out. But when Republic bought R&R, they needed everything and anything they had (even if only one out of the four buckets is usable). So this truck was put on a new route they put together, basically he does a bunch of scattered stuff early in the morning and then goes and helps one of the recycle guys with big routes. Here it is one Friday morning helping Phil in my city. Since Phil was right up the street and this truck is terrible with cardboard, you will see some of it got left. Phil swung by in 2201 and grabbed that later. By time he would have gotten it in this truck, it was easier just for Phil to come by. I filmed elsewhere this driver a while back, anyone recognize him? A big thanks to him for making this possible!

Well, I want the to have that loud roar! Could you tell the guys to make the exhaust leak again? I want that truck to have that throaty roar again!

Great vid! 4005 doesn't have that loud roar, but it's still a good truck. Why do you think it sounds quieter? Did they put a new exhaust on it? If they did, I want the guys to straight pipe it! It sound a lot better with a straight pipe on it!

I have seen all your vids, but don't recognize the driver. Why was he only using the left bucket.
He drove the McNeilus MSL for WM. Only the bottom half of the truck packs, so he can't use the right one.

He only uses the one side because the front opening in the top is bigger because it is traditionally used for paper and cardboard which takes up more room than co mix, and the other opening is MUCH smaller.

***** the top won't pack, so that eliminates the bucket closest to the tailgate on both sides. also, the drivers side does not raise, so that eliminates both buckets on that side.
rws676 they should just retire this specific truck. But they did away with the ones in my area. They replaced then with a Curatto route. We got all new cans and everything. But I really do miss these trucks. The one in my area was in perfect condition. Part of WMs recycling routes.

I liked the video but how come the driver was not sorting the recycles he was just dumping everything in the paper slot
Kimberlee Brysch the place they dump is single stream, so there is no need to sort anymore. this was just a leftover truck from when they did. Also, that is the only slot that works in this truck. The top half won't pack.
