These are nifty but I wish they were in the same scale as the original Super Powers figures.
I wasn’t going to get these. Now, I am. Thanks
The green lantern was the highlight of the first 4 for me. It was a figure that has been 37 years overdue.
I really wanna see expansive figures on this line... JSA, original characters, Super friends...
Noooooooooooooo
If they did them well it would be a good start. But they got lazy. Imagine a decent Zan or Jayna?
@@taintedlife2618 Or Wendy and Marvin?
Okay, the Mc Farlane DC figures, are pure nostagia for the Kenner DC figures of Superpowers from 80s. and the supernave and batwing are very cool.
I've seen that there's also a Green Lantern John Stewart figure being released in this wave.
There is
Of course the black one is secretly released .
@@frankpetersen6624 well he’s not the original green lantern . All the original should been released first!!
@@RickyFrench72 yeah but welcome to 2022. Everything has to be so damn PC
Thank you toy shiz I have been waiting for some reveiws for these
Hey thanks for watching
Nice, the Supermobile is based on a comic vehicle & toy that we had in the 80s.. and the Batwing has the claw feature from the old 90s movie Batwing I had as a kid. They're covering two decades of my childhood!
EDIT: Think I still have an old die-cast Supwrmobile with punching feature in somewhere in my flat.
I was visiting Lancaster PA and saw all of them including Green Lantern John Stewart. I got Darkseid to display with JL unlimited figures but the vehicles for 30 bucks...not sure.
It's delightfully retro, but the cheap cape with an unavoidable hole in it is kind of a deal breaker. Did no one test this? Did no one look at the "jail cells" on the Superman ship and realize they don't fit any of the available figures? That's a toy that can't do what it is advertised to do. Still, I might pick one up for nostalgia sake. It's better than paying the same or more for the smaller and less articulated Marvel figures on pegs now. Maybe those are what are supposed to go into the cells. Heh
Our local Walmart had all of these, plus a John Stewart Green Lantern.
I don't like that Batman one bit. Super Powers Batman has an iconic color scheme; very light grey with very light baby blue, and the yellow oval around the chest logo. I don't mind them changing the sculpt, but I feel the colors at least need to be right if they're doing a Super Powers homage.
THESE THINGS ARE SO FUN!!!! Thanks for sharing the video. I'm extremely tempted to get something. I hope they do a Green Arrow sooner than later.
Thanks for watching, man!
Love the Feat of Clay reference. You never disappoint Shiz. I love the Batwing. Big up from the classic Batcopter. I want them to go deeper with the line. I have Batman and the Batwing so far. Need to keep an eye on this.
The DC line had a great idea a while back. They had their DC Universe/Multiverse lines in both 3.75-4" & their 6" lines, and BOTH had decent articulation. The 6" had the normal elbows, knees, etc. But the 3.75" ALSO was articulated just like their bigger brothers. They also had some unique variants or figures from multiple movies, actors, etc. For example, they had a Christopher Reeves Superman figure as well as a comic book version. They had a Michael Keaton 🦇Batman🦇, a unmasked Micheal Keaton 🦇Batman🦇, a 1966 TV series 🦇Batman🦇, as well as the Arkham Knight 🦇🦇Batman🦇🦇. They had some great figures. The Teen Titans set was really epic. The 🐧Penguin🐧, 🃏Joker🃏, Harley Quinn, 🥶🧊Mr.Freeze🥶🧊☃️🧥❄, the ❔❓Riddler❓❔,and again some odd but unique unusual figures. Some from the Arkham Knight 🦇Batman🦇 video games, and some from the older TV series, and others from the 80's &90's movies. Marvel also had a decent line-up of 3.75" - 4" figures. Yes they had the 5 points of articulation versions but they too, like DC had a more advanced version, better articulated figures and those were amazing as well. I understand the "Retro" versions. They are copies of the figures made when many of us where kids, and while I loved them back then, I'd prefer having figures now that I can pose in action poses, and not just "static" standing poses. Again I'm not bashing these. I do have some nostalgic love for them as well and some look amazing! For me however, I open my Marvel Legends figures, Star Wars figures, and my Die-Cast cars. I do have some Mint in Pkg. but for the most part my items are opened and displayed on shelves, so for me the 5 POA figures are more of a retrospective figure, a memory on-card figure I'd keep unopened. For me, not a very big demand. I would at the most get certain figures I really really want. For example, Marvel? I'd like a Doctor🐙Octopus🐙, Mysterio, Lizard, Electro, Kingpin, Vulture, 🦂Scorpion🦂, Kraven the Hunter, and 🕷🕸Spider-Man🕸🕷. Basically the Sinister Six. For DC, the🃏🃏Joker🃏🃏 🐧🐧Penguin🐧🐧 🦇🦇Batman🦇🦇 Robin, and LOBO. Now these are POSSIBLE figures I'd like. Honestly I'd rather have them fully articulated and opened outside of the packaging than "Mint in Box" hanging on a wall or packed in a box somewhere. Again please don't misconstrue my remarks. I'm not dissing the Mint in Box collections, I myself prefer them opened and displayed. Also I have a fairly numerous collection of Star Wars figures from back in the 80's, 90's, 2000's, 2010's and more unopened. My Sith Legacy pack with Darth Nihilus, Darth Malgus, and if remember correctly Darth Maul is one of my favorites. I also have a Mandalorian Legacy set, a Jedi set, a Vader set, as well was Comic Book 2-packs. If I had the room these would be displayed. Which defines the issue. SPACE! The 3.75" - 4" scale figures obviously have or require far less space than the 6" figures. Now granted the 6" figures look amazing, well "SOME DO & SOME DON'T!" But you can display far more 3.75" figures. Plus you have the opportunity to display vehicles, ships, and 🏍🏍motorcycles🏍🏍. You can have more dioramas, more chances for more accessories, especially as I said, vehicles. With 6" scale figures not only are ships insanely expensive, but they are usually MASSIVE ENOUGH TO COVER A TABLE! I just wish DC & Marvel would release a line of 3.75" -- 4" action figures! Just saying!
I’ve seen that Unmasked Keaton figure out in the wild several times. I can never pull the trigger on it because the cross-eyed paint job on EVERY one I’ve seen is shamefully terrible. It ruins what otherwise would be a great figure.
They only need to make comic book accurate characters.
If I recall correctly, the super powers vehicles used a slightly more matte plastic on the vehicle body.
I picked these up this weekend. There is a 4th figure in this wave, John Stewart Green Lantern. For some reason he doesn't show up on the others card backs I'm assuming he's the chase figure in this wave, not sure though.
He’s part of wave 2. Just a early release.
Still can't find the vehicles or John Stewart...
There is a guy I saw on RUclips called The Cape Master and he makes cloth capes you can order for these figures even shrank the Superman S on the back to look more like classic Superpowers
Unfortunately I'm not seeing any availability in my neck of the woods in the Bay area. I wonder if I can order these out of state?
Amazing I have 4 figures super man batman dark seid and green lanter .
Symbiote 3 pack thoughts video coming?
Not much to say on it. It’s just ok
@@ToyShiz thoughts on the venom? Too soon for them to drop another with a pending pre order on the king in black set?
@@BigCRichy I’m a huge venom fan. They’ve been making them consistently since the early 90s
Cant wait to get these. The hole through the cape thing is a real bummer though. I hope they sort that out in future waves. Clearly just a dumb oversight. But these are remaining on card for me so I dont mind all that much honestly. Though I'll probably get an extra Batman to put in the Batwing.
Nostalgia is a hell of a drug!
Did you try putting figures in the jail cell so the widest part of the figure is in the widest part of the cell? It looks like the bars are meant to be a place where the prisoner can look out from inside.
I think.there was an issue of superpowers comics where Superman lost his powers and had to stop a.metor shower so he used the Super Mobile to destroy them
I guess the only thing you could say that is missing from the new superpowers compared to the 1980s it came with the mini comic book's the one from the 1980s!! and the new one doesn't come with a mini comic book!! like the old ones!??
I feel like the sculpts are more like the DC ToyBiz figures from the early 90's. These are good but they can take it up a notch to really be Super Powers. The vehicles are excellent!
For the capes, I fully agree on your points. I recommend the cape master on eBay, he has some great replacement repro capes for these guys!
I do have to say that they look better in hand than they do in the pictures.
Very that. Not even as good as Toy Biz which is already an insult. Getting the most remedial fan to do this and they would have a better outcome. No omega beam feature? Is it that hard to make the arms move? Just cheap as hell. Lazy.
Loving this line. We’ll be checking them out soon on the all new Hermione’s Toy Box!
Oh I am definitely all for this and a total sucker for these kind of toys! haha Yeah I was super excited... get it? "Super" excited?? Super excited to find all of these at once at Walmart, they are very fun toys. Of course you're totally right about the capes, but ehhh, for the price, I'll get over it. It's just nice having figures that I'm not concerned about them breaking or trying to pose them, I can literally just play with them and enjoy the nostalgia.
Great review man. Keep it up. Not sure if you know but what are the chances these get released internationally. Would love to get them in New Zealand
They should just get the old Kenner molds or forget it
They're missing the "action" features and mini comic book
Buen video 👍😉👌😎👏
I still don’t like 52 dark side
Og dark side. Not thrilled on how much blue there is, but I like it. New 52, still has the blue and it isn’t menacing.
Like him wearing make him look darker. But new has darker under suit making him look less dark.
The Supermobile looks like Twinbee from Stinger
What when i need these
How the hell are people getting these? I just checked online and none are available within 100 radial miles of Atlanta.
In stores for over a month now. They were street dated for august 1st
@@ToyShiz I know. I've been checking my local stores at least weekly since late July. No bar code hangers or anything for the figures. Hopefully they show up soon.
Oh god I wish I could get these!
I live on the east coast and going to a Walmart is like visiting a 3rd world country. It’s a horrible experience.
It’s the same on the west coast as well. Lemon Grove in San Diego is a terrifying walmart
@@ToyShiz it’s just not even worth the trip anymore. Just to score some cheap nostalgic toys. I hope these go live on Walmart’s website soon.
@@ToyShiz hey I use to work ther lol. College grove
It's funny because it's true 🤣😥😥
Yeah, the toy aisles at my local Walmarts always look desolate, rows full of empty pegs that never seem to get restocked.
Diana will fit. And my Zod.
No chance of getting these in uk
I think whole Apokolips would be in awe.
really excited bout these but the capes where a turn off
If you keep in box. You’ll never have to worry about em🤷♂️. But yeah out of box they are bad
These are very cute, but why would superman need a vehicle?
Shopping
I can’t find these anywhere except for 2 or 3 times the prices from scalpers. My two young buys are dying for these!☹️ also I can’t believe the designers not making the super mobile compartments work. It would almost be better to have nothing than something that should work but doesn’t.
They haven’t begun to hit, just wait.
You’ll find them.
@@ToyShiz ah ok thanks! That’s really really good to know!
Awesome can't wait
It's sad because I will never see these in any of my 3 local Wal-Mart stores 😞
I’m still on the fence. Superpowers is hands down, my all time favorite figure line. It was my favorite as a child. I don’t know if these live up to those though. They seem inferior somehow, despite my McFarlane fanboy status.
The figures don't really look like the Superpowers line to me, but the vehicles look like they could fit right in.
@@Tim85-y2q yeah but you know that the Super Powers had better details. Damn not even decals? Such easy things to unclude. Cheap ass.
McFarlane needs to replace these damaged capes for all customers.
If you order anything from Walmart online, expect it to arrive looking like it went thru Ukraine on it's way to your home. They shipped Batman in a plastic baggie, which arrived flattened, and they folded Darkseid's card IN HALF to fit it into too small a box. I had to return my entire order! They shouldn't have exclusives if they can't service the collector's market.
...also, having grown up and collected these when the original line was released, Darkseid was one of the figures that warmed pegs well into the '90's. So, it would be foolish for McFarlane to recreate that old, classicd Darkseid figure for this line. Plus, this will give collectors of the old line a reason to buy a new sculpt.
And love the batman tas reference to dagat!!!!!
He said get some information about Roland Daggett. 😂
That Batwing is a must!!! other stuff not for me
Not the jail cells being too small 😩🙄 they could have called it Kryptonite storage chambers!
These are amazing!
Toy Shiz:
Very cool 😎👌, indeed. I like your Justice League Unlimited character who looks like The Atom. Is he The Atom or a different character ? Definitely want to get Series 1. I also agree, The Supermobile is goofy, but still awesome in its goofiness. Hope Mcfarlane makes some villains that will fit into the capture area or trunk. Pretty cool that you had a Super Powers Robin and a Toybiz DC COMICS SUPER HEROES: Robin. Just keep up the excellent work 💪. I will be looking at my local Walmart to see when they show up. Darkseid, New 52 style is very streamlined. Take care and have a blessed one 🙏.
That is Micron from
The future Justice League in Batman beyond The Call, episode.
Thanks for watching
where can i find these?
Walmart exclusive
Awesome review. Found the Batwing at my local Walmart 2 weeks ago. They didn't have the figures but the Batwing rang up on clearance for $5?!
This was a fun and fantastic review!! Looking forward to this line and hoping to seeing them in stores , finally
The vehicles seem to be the gems of this line. Kind of disappointed in the modern looks on Darkseid and Batman, should be classic looks in a nostalgic retro line. Don't understand the inclusion of the Batman Who Laughs in the upcoming wave.
Dope
JLU is such an amazing line. I love it. I need to invest in about 200 figures stands so they don't domino fall over, LOL. But I love them.
Right, you we’re lucky if they ever stood. I remember at comic con one year, all the figures had fallen over in the glass cases and they had to open em up and adhere sticky tack to the feet. A lack of Peg holes was the only miss for JLU.
I’d love to revisit this line from my childhood but I cannot invest in any toy line nowadays because they don’t ever seem to make it past a series 5 or 6 and this is DC we are talking about where they will release 3 or 4 Batman’s and Superman’s before you get one Firestorm or Hawkman. I will stick to my Justice figures from Alex Ross from 15 years ago. Good review by the way
Hey! This is right up RetroBlasting's ally.
I'm more of a 90's guy myself up to Batman Beyond. I lied I also have the Nolan line but that's it I don't feel comfortable having something Twilight or Asslick related.
Great video reference man!!
The cape holes on ALL capes? McFarlane you are hella wrong for that!
I got darksied he looked cool and I know he will be worth way more in a year or so
I just picked up the snowmobile and, the superman figure at Wal-Mart today. My childhood revisited!!!!!
I may like the small page puncher batman better but this one is very cool too!
Lol supermobile!!!!! Insane idea lol
There ok.just ok.
You hit the nail the on the head: these are FUN!
I saw a terrible review of the Batman figure and im like what is this guy talking about?
Aside from the cape issue that everyone mentions, and not having the action feature which isnt a big deal, the figure delivers on what you remember best of the old line: having fun with your toy.
So far i only have the Batman, wasnt planning on getting the Superman or Darkseid but i think ill pick up the Superman. He was the only SP figure I had as a kid so for nostalgia im picking him up,
If they make the Justice Jogger I will die happy
One quick question? WHY DOES Superman need a vehicle/plane? He's faster than a 🚂🚂Locomotive🚂🚂 and he's able to Fly better than an ✈✈Airplane✈✈❓❓ Just wondering what does a dude who can fly and run faster than ANY VEHICLE need with a vehicle??😉😀😆🤣😂😆🤣 It seemed funny to me back then and still does now.
This comment was just meant to a goofy look. I'm not bashing this line at all. I like the 🦇🦇Batwing🦇🦇 and the way you can put the figure into the vehicle. And as pointless as the Supermobile is, it is a cool looking "ship". The punch 👊 option is hilarious.
Grocery shopping
He used it when weakened by green kryptonite in a Superfriends episode. Used the hands to grab a chunk of blue kryptonite in outer space to heal his body. So happy I was able to use that information after forty-odd years.
👍😛
Wal-Mart has been very unreliable for me for a long time now.
The action figures are fine but 30 bucks per vehicle is ridiculous and overpriced, 20 yes but not 30 NOT WORTH 30 so pass!!
Batplane is $20. Supermobile is $30
@@ToyShiz nope 29.99 at walmart
holy fuck, superman has a fking grappler ship.
Is Mcfarlane now just copying Hasbro’s 375 retro marvel legends line.
How do you figure that?
@@ToyShiz how do you not? Dont act like his question is absurd. We're all thinking it, you just dont have the balls to say it.
No Mcfarlane is revisiting the classic Super Powers line. Its not much more complicated than that. These arent even the same scale as the Retro Marvel stuff.
I knew that, I just think the timing is quite strange.
@@Libertycustom73 super powers was from the 80s. Marvels “Kenner 375’s” never existed. If you’re gonna be using the computer at the library, I suggest using Google.
Some people on Ebay are already selling two cloth capes for Supes and Bats, 20 for both. Not bad for custom-made at all.
Lol supermobile!!!!! Insane idea lol
