I'm British. I spent 8 years in California and have lived for over 30 years in Germany. One learns about cultural difference and most people attempt to adapt and fit in but "rude" is just universally rude, in my opinion. Harry's Wife continually shows her lack of respect, manners and common decency. She is just a nasty person and it has nothing to do with her nationality, race or heritage.

We are strong in out heritage" were her exact words. I totally agreed. The British people didn't give a damn about her skin colour. Meghan and Harry highlighted that all by themselves. In fact, Harry was the one looking under every pavement slab searching for racism. I feel he was more concerned about her race than others. For a man who only dated white blondes, perhaps he was the problem. The Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Edinborough received lots of really negative coverage, as did their families. Now, they are much loved. Meghan & Harry should ignore the tabloids. Intelligent people dont read them.

@Margot Watson I think Oprah has her own issues with her skin colour. She fishes for "victims" like herself. Oprah swept into South Africa, to build a school for disadvantaged black girls. She made all the announcements, hired the builders and eventually opened the school. Just one problem, the school staff took bribes from wealthy black businessmen to have their daughters enrolled. Oprah found out about that only when the SA newspapers blew up the story. Efforts were made to change things, but Oprah had lost interest. She is now a billionaire, but doesn't use that and her influence to change things. I'll never forget Harry and Meghans wedding. I was so happy for them. I was shocked to see Oprah and other celebrities waiting to enter the church. Oprah had chosen a very ill fitting outfit, totally unsuitable for a Royal wedding. One of her shoes was broken. The other celebrities looked uncomfortable. It was George Cloony who later said he didn't actually know her. She had only 1 family member present, her mon. I didn't realise that it was all part of Meghan's plot. She is ashamed of her father and all other family members. That means she is ashamed of her heritage, which is so wrong. It's an awful mess but only H & M can sort that out.

May I ask a question? My impression of when a couple meets the families is that the person who is having their partner meet their family should do a lot of groundwork BEFORE that meeting. Meaning describing proper behaviors to their partner while also explaining to family any sticky points that their partner has. As I have watch these introductions fail, I always find that the partner failed to prepare one side or the other. Do you think that is true? In my family's experience, the introductions might have been more successful if the family is included in on the baby steps of the progression of the relationship (meaning my brother never even told us he was dating someone, and then he brought her home engaged. We would have liked to have known "I met an amazing girl" or " I think I am going to ask her to marry me" long BEFORE that point. Regardless, the introduction failed because she was a narc like meghan and refused to learn or care about our family rules). Thoughts?

The fact that Amber was able to take Johnny away from his children's mother. But he too was in a drug filled stupor until the relationship literally was causing him physical harm that he came to his senses. It wasn't enough for Amber to have him but then she had to destroy him because he was in the way of her lime light. The fact that she was more in love with women and she solely married Johnny to further her career goals. You got to be wretched inside to do what she was trying to do to him. I have never been a Johnny Depp fan because he has never been an angel like most of us aren't. It's my opinion that Megan hates being 1/4 black. It tears her up inside. As old as the Queen was, I think her decisions about Harry's engagement and marriage had two different reasons. She didn't know Meghan well at the time of engagement, but knew some things about her, so deferred to her not-so-bright grandson's wishes. Later, she knew enough to have wanted to deny permission to marriage, but both the race card and probably the faked pregnancy got in the way.

As a South African who is of mixed heritage and who grew up under apartheid, I know all about experiencing racism but I'm so tired of identity politics and people thinking racism only comes from white people. All people can be racist and can experience it as well. Why is society trying to convince me that only black people have the monopoly on racism? I'm so tired of society being so blatantly racist and ignorant in the name of racial justice?! There is racism, colorism and prejudice in every race (the human race). I say this as someone who is of German, African and Dutch heritage. I'm a human being and judge and want to be judged on the content of my character. Society needs to wake up and stop this madness, it's only creating more division amonst us in my opinion.

From experience I’ve learned that many people who have experienced abandonment in their life thrive on chaos or drama because it makes noise over the loneliness and silence they feel around them. She had many flaws, yes, but yet I sympathize with her as well. She’s definitely complex, however, I don’t believe she was an evil person or someone who necessarily wanted to eject heartache or anything on anyone else; just naive and not really thinking of the consequences for later on. Unlike Meghan, she did care about others and wanted the monarchy to succeed, whereas Meghan wants the complete opposite

Meghan has this dichotomous way of portraying herself in that she is a triumvirate of saint, victim, and aggressor. If she acts as the aggressor (not physically, but rather emotionally, mentally, psychologically, etc.), and anyone pushes back against that, she immediately goes into victim-mode. It’s her cycle and it’s very obvious to those of us on the outside looking in. For example: *Saint* (pulling herself up from her “poor” family and becoming a “world famous” actress) ➡️ *Victim* (paparazzi is pounding at her door and her dog can’t even be around her anymore) ➡️ *Aggressor* (she has to move into Nottingham Cottage so she can “be safe” even though they’ve only been dating a short time).
Then the cycle starts again. *Saint* (she will perfect for the Royal Family since she’s American and half-black and beautiful) ➡️ *Victim* (nobody is teaching her the protocol and how to fit in to the Royal Family - even though they are) ➡️ *Aggressor* (she’ll just do whatever she wants and to hell with them).
Then the cycle starts again. *Saint* (she is a philanthropic humanitarian that would be good for the Royal Family) ➡️ *Victim* (she’s half-black and the Royal Family is “racist”) ➡️ *Aggressor* (she threatens to unalive herself and pushes Harry away from all his friends and family).
This cycle goes on and on and continues in this toxic pattern. From day one until the present.

    • @heatblair
      @heatblair Год назад +5

@@detectivefiction3701 Yes, you can take that as victim, as well! She “had” to move there to get protection. Perhaps the aggressor portion of that scenario would be her playing up to Harry that he needs to make it official and get her protection. Or even using his mother’s death to scare him into feeling like he needs to protect her. (I used that example as aggressor because it seems to me - IMO - that she moved right in before they were even really exclusive or serious, and to me that’s a bit aggressive. But I see your point as it being more on the victim side of things!)

What you are describing is a psychological theory first proposed in 1968 called the Karpman Drama Triangle. There are 3 and only 3 roles: Persecutor, Rescuer, and Victim. Roughly analogous to your villain, Saint, and victim roles, respectively. Mentally unwell people tend to be limited to playing these roles in relationships (and they do change roles but never the game), as opposed to being authentic participants in healthy, mutually beneficial relationships.

@@heatblair You're welcome! There is a hidden fraternity of survivors, and we tend to want to share what we've learned with those who are still suffering or are simply genuinely curious. If I were a betting woman, I would guess he lacks the insight or the analytical skills to have parsed it out like you've done. Certainly he's never studied it in college nor, apparently, in the course of his so-called therapy. At some point, a person's survival instincts will kick in, and the victim will start looking for answers. But my guess is that Harry is still wandering around in the FOG (fear, obligation, guilt) so familiar to any of us who have had the dubious privilege of having a Cluster B personality disordered mate. My guess is that he is still flailing about trying to figure out where the ideal mate he married has disappeared to and why suddenly he can't do anything right. This includes all manner of heroic efforts to restore the glow of the initial "golden period" common to these relationships when the disordered person was love bombing the target. The most difficult task for anyone in this position is coming to terms with the reality that the person you fell in love with literally does not exist. That person was just a façade. Given that Harry spent about a decade telling himself that his mother wasn't really dead, she was just in hiding somewhere, I'll go out on a limb and say that his capacity for facing reality is somewhat limited. His resilience is questionable too, as he is still bitter and resentful over the death of his mother which was more than a quarter century ago. I predict a full on nervous breakdown when she finally dumps him. This is going to be a significant challenge for Harry, and unfortunately he has alienated and betrayed the majority of people he would normally be able to count on as a support group. But people can surprise you. My prediction is that this will either make or break him. My hope is for the former. Anyway, kudos to you for spotting the pattern!

So, she ghosted them. Unfortunately, they were all going through bankruptcy prior to the wedding. Meghan also quoted her personal wealth as 5 million dollars, but she spent nothing towards her wedding, she didn’t even buy her wedding gown. Meghan was stuck and would not share her big day with her parents as she felt inferior to the other royals. She talked a good story about who she was - all fake. I certainly get the "it's because she's American" nonsense. I'm from the UK but worked for the US forces overseas and I never found a single Markle among my American colleagues or indeed, anything close to it. However, I wonder if this perception of MM being the marker of cultural differences originated not with Harry or the royal staff, but MM herself?
The backstories I'm thinking of here are:
    1) MM was difficult from the start, being beyond rude and abrasive not only to her own staff but also to those who worked for Catherine and for the Queen. The argument from MM's acolytes and spokesmen - some of whom were from the US - was that we Brits don't understand "American directness". It was as irritating for us as this "it's because she's American" is for Americans because it portrays us as a people so restricted by politeness that normal, direct speech sends us quivering into corners.
2)MM herself has spoken of the RF and Brits in general as being rather cold and formal, as if her tendency to want to touch and hug people is a cultural rather than a personal difference. In the "not many people have asked if I'm OK" interview she said that she had tried (oh how she tried!) the whole 'British stiff upper lip" stuff, couldn't do it and thought it was unhelpful anyway. Which it probably is if you're someone who falls to the floor weeping every half hour. Clearly MM can't make up her mind if being "direct" and refusing to "coddle" people (as she herself put it) is an "American thing" that we Brits can't handle, or if Americans can't handle Brits because they are formal, non-huggy people who trot about with permanently rigid upper lips.
Anyhow - there is more but suffice to say that it is at least possible that, when she heard any criticism, constructive or otherwise, she played the cultural difference card. I've worked with Americans so I know first-hand that her character traits are her own and nothing to do with cultural differences, but not every Brit and American has had that same benefit of spending hours every single day working alongside each other.

Well said. I’m American, and due to my job have spent 50% of my adult life outside of the US. Having spent so much time with the British, I can confidently state that there really aren’t many differences between our two cultures. So few in fact, that people must concentrate on language differences (which are mostly slang), and some culinary ones. Both cultures assume that sociological differences are cultural. They’re usually not. Bad, rude, crude, boorish, vulgar behavior is usually the same in all cultures, but especially in our two.
I believe that MM had been held to account in the past for her atrocious behavior, and entered her relationship with H prepared with an immediate excuse. “It’s an American thing”. “That’s a British thing”. But MM is NEVER well prepared. The majority of the Royal Family are not as unsophisticated as H, being very well travelled and having spent extensive time with Americans. I doubt they were fooled by her for longer than a single meeting. I strongly suspect they were against the relationship from the beginning, and also suspect that the obsessively besotted and naive Prince H threatened them if they dared to interfere with the relationship. Perhaps they felt he would learn a necessary lesson and it would be a short affair.
Regardless, the only cultural differences that I see are those embodied by a spoiled, naive, too protected Prince, in trying to live like a commoner in a celebrity obsessed culture, with a sociopathic wife.

One female staff member on a Friday night was receiving anger-fueled text messages from Meghan every 10-15 minutes, & was harassed throughout the weekend.

I don’t understand why Meg didn’t just pay her family to shut up. Even if she had been low on cash, you think she would have found it to avoid this disaster.

I don't get it either. I can tell the Markles aren't exactly moral people themselves so they'd most likely shut up for some quick cash. Mehgan is horrible & the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Meg only spends money on herself but it really would've helped her if she had paid them off.

Meghan definitely wants Harry and the world to think that he’s better now, because of her.
I have not watched their Netflix sitcom, but I have seen clips. And a hilarious one was some sort of phone therapy session, where they are meditating…and she is holding on to his leg…of course…and they both have their eyes closed…and she’s “crying”…
It’s like, she’s a master of manipulation. On a scary level.
I would feel sorry for Harry…but I can’t. Cause he royally sucks, too.

Yeah, he sucks and I have a feeling that he's always sucked! Let's give a big shout out to the British Royal PR machine that not only concealed his suckiness but managed to make him one of the most popular royals, at times surpassing the last QEII herself. 👏

The eye movement therapy is EMDR and can be very effective for many, however it’s part of a comprehensive therapy program, which never includes shrooms or weed. 😏

6:38: “Richard K was intoxicated by a woman who had to make her own way in the world and overcome its prejudices.”
Yeah…he MUST have been intoxicated to have believed any of that shite.
