The live “Pulse concert” version of “Comfortably Numb” with the overextended guitar solo at the end is a must react for you guys. Widely considered the best guitar solo ever. Easy to find on RUclips.
Great solo. Your right on that, but pulse isn't Pink Floyd. Too many missing
yeah the live shows add so much to the experience. I saw Roger's new "This is Not A Drill" and it was amazing. His intro into "Wish You Were Here" told a story about him and Syd that brought me to tears. So much emotion and subversion in this tour. His Wall Tour is amazing also. And yeah the Pulse one is great too.
So much THIS right here! 👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼
Yes, Yes, Yes infinity!!!
I think I beg the for Comfortabley Numb Live at least once a week. :-) Would love to see them do "High Hopes" and "Sorrow" from PULSE as well. Can't wait to see Jay's reaction to the PULSE stage.
The song On The Turning Away from this album is an underrated masterpiece with a great message.
The whole album is good. Partial to the 1st track myself. Love me a well-done instrumental
Love the message in On the Turning Away. Back in 1992 I sang it as I rocked my second son to sleep. Makes a great lullaby.
Yes, Polly is a pretty good songwriter. Not as good as Roger Waters, but pretty good.
On the turning away is in my top 5 Pink Floyd songs...that's a very hard list to make since they have soooo many great songs
Maybe a tiny bit underappreciated... sheeesh enough saying songs from a group with over 200 songs and hundreds of millions albums sold has ANYTHING underrated... On the Turning Away was all over our classic rock station when it came out...
“The Turning Away” live is incredible. One of my all time favourites.
One of my favs too!
Yes! I suggest "On the Turning Away" every time they react to Pink Floyd.
The world would be a much better place if more people listened to Pink Floyd.
Pink Floyd , "Comfortably Numb" live at Pulse. Unbelievable!!
The entire concert is great but that song was the icing on the cake
Same with “Shine on You Crazy Diamond”.
Unbelievable Guitar Solos 🎸
"Echoes" @ Pompeii is pretty amazing, too!
By Far THE BEST GUITAR SOLO EVER
Strongly agree with comments below that you should watch them perform Comfortably Numb live at the Pulse concert. Incredible sound, light show, and the best guitar solo of all time!
Funny that Amber said she had a hard time picturing actual people making Pink Floyd's music, because when I first discovered them eons ago as a kid, I distinctly remember thinking, "This is so good I can't quite believe human beings made this". Very few other artists since, across all disciplines, have made me feel that way. Pink Floyd still does.
Exactly. Those are my exact feelings I just never was able to quite articulate it into words. That description nails my feelings regarding the unequaled Pink Floyd.
Pink Floyd and older Moody Blues.
Story is; David was indeed learning to fly and kept showing up late to the studio. The band wrote this song about David learning to fly and turned it into a metaphor for mans flight spiritually.
It’s easy for me to forget how awesome it was growing up with music like this. We had so soooooo much great music.
Full album of Pink Floyd "Animals".... it's between all their most popular albums, but, imo, showcases all 4 members at their best.
Well said McCool!
Dogs.
Saw them on their Animals tour 1978~79(I’m old, I know) Animals is my favorite PF album, and their live show was by far the best concert I’ve seen, just wish I remembered more of it. The flying pig was great, lol.
Favorite Floyd album.
Please, please guys don't deprive yourselves of watching the masters live. Pick any song from the "Pulse concert" and it will blow you away. I promise you will gain even more appreciation of how good these guys are.
Your bucket list has to include Pink Floyd “ Comfortably Numb” live from the Pulse concert! And just for your information, Pink Floyd is always better live than in the videos or studio albums!
The album this was from (A Momentary Lapse of Reason, 1987) was the first album Pink Floyd did after Roger Waters left (following The Final Cut, 1983). That's at least part of why it sounds kind of different. The Momentary Lapse of Reason tour was also the first concert I ever went to. I've seen Pink Floyd twice, both times at Ohio Stadium, and each time was an absolutely transcendent experience. They're one of my all-time favorite bands and basically the soundtrack to my high school years in the '80s.
I saw them on the same tour, in Indianapolis. I was sitting in the front row of the upper level of the Hoosier Dome, and during "Learning to Fly" a very, very high college student in the crowd ran down from above us and swan-dived off the railing. He lived, but broke a lot of bones, and badly hurt the person he landed on. During the first half of the concert we watched the band and also the paramedics working fifty feet below us.
You should check out Pink Floyd live at Pompeii Echoes. Masterpiece
Same here, in Melbourne Australia. The start of my Pink Floyd 🐇 🕳️
This album is my personal favorite, i don't know a lot of people who agree with me, but the song "One slip" which holds the title to the album in it's lyricks is my (not even guilty) pleasure.
Seen them at OSU also. Momentary lapse of reason and The division bell. AMAZING. That's why you have to watch them live.
If you haven't reacted to it yet watch Pink Floyd "Echoes Live at Pompeii " it's just incredible and you can see the young Floyd just tearing it up
Agree 100%
This song was actually inspired by the drummer Nick Mason taking pilot lessons. The other members of the band would be in the studio asking where's Nick? and the answer would often be "Oh, he's leaning to fly!" Never forget that the song comes first, and then someone get's hired to interpret it in a video.
Just a side note, David Gilmour and Nick Mason had a fear of flying so to overcome it, they both took flying lessons and are now also pilots. Hence the song.
This is your first time seeing Pink Floyd play? Oh, you have to do the live version of "Comfortably Numb" from the Pulse tour (1994). It is unbelievable.
Agree, this live performace changes everythig you know about music.
would be a great movie review.. watching classic Concerts and YES.. Pulse was an Incredible show 🤩🤩🤩
"Echoes" @ Pompeii is pretty amazing, too!
Seen it live in the flesh in 89’ at the Isle of Dogs in London.
Best £30 I ever spent.
I personally like the London performance the best from your suggestion.
“Hey You” is one of my favorite Floyd songs, please add it to the list. “Lost for Words” and “Learning to Fly” are two of favorite older Floyd songs.
I love "Hey You". In fact I heard it on the car radio today.
Hey you is not that old really but lost for words and learning to fly are very new in terms of Pink Floyd LOL
@@squaaaaak3178 That’s what i meant actually lol. I just re read it and can see how it sounds. I meant older as in Pink Floyd was older, when “Learning to Fly” and “Lost for Words” came out. Young Pink Floyd/Old Pink Floyd.
And fearless one of my favorites
"Across the clouds I see my shadow fly, out of the corner of my watering eye" One of my favorite lines of any song. 'Suspended animation, a state of bliss'. :)
“ Comfortably Numb” live Pulse concert video performance is not just a great song it’s a spiritual experience. You guys will never forget it.
if you want to see a great live performance do Comfortably Numb live Pulse concert. Even if you already reacted to the song, the live version is a must watch. Almost every reactor has done the live version.
If you guys have never SEEN Pink Floyd, that means you've never checked out any of their amazing live performances.....I would suggest almost anything from the "Pulse" concert in 1995, but you might wanna start with "Comfortably Numb", "Run Like Hell" or "Another Brick In The Wall"!
Definitely run like hell but all are great choices.
JOKE. there's no PF sans Waters. all you Faux Floyd fans need mental help.
The live “The Wall” tour clip of Mother is a must.
@@aaronmacormic5873 that's why I posted it...we need that shit on BluRay so bad...get off your ass Waters, last I checked he said all the tapes were in a box in his garage haha.
@@popandroid You couidn't be more correct.
"Echoes" from Live in Pompeii is something you need to watch. It's live, when they were young, playing to a crowd that bought their tickets 2000 years ago.
Yes, if you want to 'see' them, that is where you must start
Great suggestion!
I saw pink floyd 3 times since the mid 70s they always had a giant round screen behind them on stage light show and videos that were made for the specific album they were touring for great times their music never gets old its like a good book you read over
Great great choice. This makes 11 PInk Floyd songs, so I had to go through them to find some truly great ones you haven't done yet. "Run Like Hell" has one of my favorite riffs of all time. "On the Turning Away" is just gorgeous, and "Hey You" will satisfy Amber's progressive vibe fix for days.
Love the both of you so much! If you want to see more of them live, I know you've already done "Comfortably Numb", but look up the LIVE performance of that song at the Pulse concert. It's absolutely amazing. You will NOT be sorry!
Birmingham Alabama 1994 the Division Bell Pink Floyd tour we saw them live at Legion Field and oh man what a concert! It was open field and the weather was perfect. They did every song they ever did and had visuals playing in the background along with the music. I'll never forget it. Beautiful ladies singing backup and dancing in complete choreography while doing it. Incredible!
I WAS THERE, TOO!!
I saw them on the that tour at Grant Field in Atlanta. It was other worldly.
Love Pink Floyd!!!! Saw them live in the 80’s, was the most incredible concert I’ve ever seen!
I’ve seen them live 4 times. You really need to see them live to get the full Pink Floyd experience. Some of the songs that I would suggest is On The Turning Away, Run Like Hell, One Of These Days, Hey You. Comfortably Numb from their live video Pulse is a must. It will shake you to the core. As you say Fire and Banger. You will never forget this song and the live experience.
It would be nice to see them live, if they ever tour again. I thought their last was in 2014.
If you want to hear something different from Pink Floyd, i would suggest you to listen too: One of these days. One of their best early 70s songs. A very haunting experience. With a great guitarsolo. Great suggestion.
I just saw a Pink Floyd cover band figuring that was the closest I'd ever get to a Pink Floyd, they were great but real Pink Floyd? I'd die happy!
Why do you guys never do Pink Floyd live? The Pulse version of this song blows the studio version out of the water, like many other live songs of them.
Completely agree!
It's possible that it gets blocked.
Pink Floyd should be listened to, the first time, in a quiet setting....low lights....FULL ALBUM PLAYTHROUGH. Then experience the live versions.
@@thcdad3632 exactly!
No, man. Do NOT encourage them to do that! I am always super disappointed when they hear a live version first, live is for the fans, not for introductions because more often than not live versions require a bit of leniency as they usually sound like pure shit.
"Pulse" is def the way to go, unfortunately you'll never see this group live again, I was fortunate enough to see them 4 times from 1977- 1997, and it was a show of incredible lasers and huge puppets , incredible sound systems, the largest disco ball I ever saw in my life, and the incredible musicianship of this band, I can die now a happy camper!!
You will be so amazed once you watch them live. I was so mesmerized when I first saw them live.
I saw them in 1977 when I was 16. The staging was unbelievable. That was the night "Wish You Were Here" became a forever favorite of mine.
J & Amber, you'll love their "Hey You"!! The story of Pink!!
I'm a Pink Floyd Fan since the mid 70's and was incredibly lucky to see them live on multiple occasions. The most outstanding experience I had was the Pulse concert. You really should check out Comfortably Numb from that concert. The guitar solo by David sends you to a different Universe ;-)
This is my favorite Pink Floyd song ever. Saw them twice in the ‘80’s
If you ever do a full album reaction, make sure it's Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd!
My absolute favorite Pink Floyd song!! Gives me chills. 🕊️ I suggest Welcome to Machine, On The Turning Away, Run Like Hell, Dogs of War. Also The Moody Blues & Dire Straits. Keep smiling!! 🎶😁🎶
Edited to add: Movie Suggestion = "Dances With Wolves" you BOTH will love it!!
On the Turning Away is a great.
Agreed, I am a movie addict for great movies and "Dances With Wolves" is one of the best!
Yes, Dances with Wolves
Indeed! Dances With Wolves (the extended Director's Cut) 🤘
@@evilervcowart6234 couldn't agree more, the directors cut is the best version! 🤩
Pink Floyd is my favorite group. I have been lucky enough to have attended 10 concerts, first one in 1972 with only 900 in attendance. Their shows were grand spectacles of lights and film and music surrounding you. The group rarely put themselves out as the biggest aspect of the show. There were shows so big they all melted into the background. There was a show in Cleveland where they asked for quiet as they did a sound check. A familiar sound came for the Quadrophonic sound amplifiers. It kept getting louder rolling through all areas of the stadium. Looking up a C-5 cargo plane was heading towards the stadium. You then realized that the sound was that of the aircraft and it buzzed the stadium. Everyone looked up and when you looked back down, they were on stage playing. Memorable. Someone mentioned watching selections from the PULSE show. These shows highlighted the wonder of their stage shows. By all means check it out. I especially like HIGH HOPES.
Silent Lucidity from Queensryche, please!
One of the best ballads!
If you guys want to see an amazing Pink Floyd live performance, you really need to see their Live 8 performance from 2005. The four classic members of Pink Floyd came together for probably the last time and played four songs for a good cause. If you really like Pink Floyd this is a MUST SEE!!!
Gotta do the Pulse concert version, an experience for sure. SORROW from the same 1994 Pulse concert HAS TO BE NEXT!!!! BOTH OF YOU WILL BE MOVED!!
Learning to Fly is one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs--good choice!
If you want to both see and hear Floyd doing some of their best work, please watch Live At Pompeii, especially the song Echoes, Pt 1.
"One of These Days" from "Live at Pompeii" is my favorite instrumental of theirs.
Damn Tootin!!
And please make sure it's from the 70s, not when David Gilmour went back in 2016 (some videos incorrectly call this visit 'Pink Floyd' in their titles)
@@wadsworthaaron One of their best. A haunting experience.
When you guys finally watch a video for "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," be sure to watch one of the versions with the official animations. Trippy!
Try a video ofSOYCD done by THE 2 RABBIS,will blow you away!
Pink Floyd songs can make you smile while you cry your eyes out.
My favorite Pink Floyd song...the video is perfect. Always brings a tear to my eye. My spirit animal.....wolf.
This is Pink Floyd without Roger Waters, basically David Gilmour's Pink Floyd. Several great albums and songs during this era. I believe the shot of the band playing are from the "Delicate Sound Of Thunder" concert.
I wouldn't call them great. I call them very good. There's just something missing without both Gilmour and Waters in the band together.
Pink floyd without that anti Semitic bastard is best.... just sayin.
I think you're right about the footage. I saw them on the tour in Atlanta.
Not direct from the concert, but from the Rehearsals prior to the Tour.
THEY REALLY DO EXIST!! 😂🤣😂🤣
One of my Pink Floyd faves....FOR SURE!!!!
I've got to experience Pink Floyd once in concert years ago. One of the greatest things.
Speaking of Pink Floyd, you have to react to Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb PULSE concert 1994. This is considered by many to be David Gilmour's best guitar solo and probably the best guitar solo ever recorded!
Reminiscing by Little River Band.....or Lotta Love by Nicolette Larson....
Beautiful song written by Mr. Neil Young!!😄
Peace from PA ✌
"On The Turning Away" is another great song by Pink Floyd.
They’re whole live concert, Pulse, is awesome if you wanna see them perform.
After a near breakup in the 80s, this version of PF emerged in the 90s without bassist Roger Waters. Waters was the primary song writer for the band in the 70s and early 80s from Dark side of the moon to The Wall. Its a different sound and softer vibe but with the David Gilmore guitar and vocals it's still Pink Floyd. Their stage show was also fantastic. I recommend "On The Turning Away" from this era. Preferably the live Remastered version
Comfortably Numb LIVE at the Pulse Concert is an experience in itself. The extended guitar solo and spectacular light show combine for an unforgettable performance.
High Hopes from the Pulse video too. Pink Floyd will change the way you listen and watch performers.
This song came out the same year I was learning to skydive, and was on the radio nearly every time I was driving to the drop zone. I always felt like it was a private joke with David, and wish I could have shared that with him. Starting with "There's no sensation to compare to this" ... through to "earthbound misfit" we couldn't take our eyes off the circling skies :)
Learning to Fly is one of my favorite songs by Pink Floyd my favorite song is on the Turning Away y'all need to react to the live version of that that is a very good song
Pink Floyd evolved over time. Of course, they had band members come and go, (Syd Barrett and Roger Waters, most notably), so I highly suggest that you follow their evolution from the Syd Barrett days, into the David Gilmour days, and finally, into the "Post Roger Waters days" (which this song is). "High Hopes" is one of my favorite PF songs, and it's from the "Post Roger Waters" era.
The music videos (which you guys usually do) always get a "Like" from me. I would really love to see you guys do the entire "Pink Floyd at Pompeii" DVD. They literally performed live for an audience that had been dead for nearly 2000 years. Such an amazing concert!
If nothing else, I have to recommend "Childhood's End", "Louder Than Words", and "Marooned" from the Post Roger Waters era. All of those are absolutely amazing!
Pink Floyd's Pulse concert. Any and all of that concert will teach you what it's all about.
Saw them live on the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour - no way to describe it with words - give a listen to On the Turning Away....
You have to do Comfortably Numb or Run Like Hell or just about anything from Pulse but especially Comfortably Numb. It's probably the best guitar solo ever of all time ever. I can't over sell it.
"Yet Another Movie w/ Round and Around" is a hidden gem off from Delicate Sound of Thunder.
This song is a homage to "flight" as David Gilmour was actually learning to fly his own aircraft around that time. This song came out after the completion of Act 2 "The Pink Floyd". Roger was gone and the remainder of Floyd went on to turning into the greatest stadium rock band of all time. Adding that second drummer and second keyboardist really amplified their sound, culminating in the best live album of all time, Pulse...
The entire pulse concert is worth a watch.. you’ll be totally blown away..
I was lucky enough to see the Floyd on this tour (Delicate Sound of Thunder) in 1989 in Athens, Greece. Amazing concert.
The live Pulse version of this is excellent. If you haven't been doing any live Floyd, you've been missing out!! They are extraordinary live... sight sound and music.
Please check out the live Pulse version of "Comfortably Numb" and be prepared to be blown away.
If you want to see Pink Floyd live, a fun one is Great Gig in the Sky Live (Pulse). The back up girls will blow you away.
I have Cherokee in me as well. I had the honor of seeing Pink Floyd on their Momentary Lapse of Reason tour. It's an experience...a trip without drugs. Just amazing. I can't fully express how they've made me feel since the 60's. I would want to be an Eagle, visible only to those who appreciate me.
Another vote for the Pulse concert video - it's the most incredible laser show, and Pink Floyd at the peak of their artistry. If you react to anything else from Pink Floyd - use the Pulse concert music and videos - you won't be disappointed...
FYI, a little background info on this song and it's meaning. The inspiration for the lyrics came about as David Gilmour was learning to fly at the time of the recording, often spending time in the air during the mornings before arriving at the studio in the afternoon. It has also been interpreted as a metaphor for beginning something new, experiencing a radical change in life, or, more specifically, Gilmour's feelings about striking out as the new leader of Pink Floyd after the departure of Roger Waters. Gilmour stated on Westwood One's Pink Floyd 25th Anniversary Special in 1992 that "we were, as Pink Floyd, learning to fly again." Also an avid pilot, drummer Nick Mason's voice can be heard at around the middle of the song.
amber is proof that you dont need drugs to feel the music try shine on you crazy diamond at the pulse concert it will blow your mind
This song was at least in part based upon David Gilmour’s passion for flying (he is a licensed pilot) and the middle part of the song has actual sounds sounds from the cockpit. 😉👍
All time favorite Pink Floyd song. Leo myself and have always had dreams of flight
Amber: you "get" (totally embrace) Pink Floyd, so I would suggest you listen to some of their longer songs, like "Echoes" (23 minutes) off-camera, too long for you and Rob to do a reaction video. "Sheep" (10 min) and "Dogs" (17 min) also are worth a listen. Have you guys done their instrumental "One of These Days" yet?- if not, that would be a reaction video recommendation.
They should do one of their best songs: One of these days. A haunting experience. With a guitarsolo. Which is guaranteed. To give you goosebumps.
One of these days is mostly instrumental but David Gilmore does the slide guitar and it is amazing especially seeing it in the pulse concert
Saw a guy take a head first dive into an orchestra pit to ONE OF THESE DAYS just after that came out.Made for an interesting evening. This was so long ago I was actually called a faggot for going to see a band with the word pink in it.
One of these days, is one of their best. A haunting experience. With a great guitarsolo. To finish. Pure exitement.
This video was the first Pink Floyd song I ever experienced and I was hooked from there. When I got hold of Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall I lost a few days of time. No idea what I did during that time, but when I came to I knew every song by heart.
My brother bought this for my birthday just before he died in 1988. I miss him terribly and he never met three of my five kids. He turned me onto Tolkien, Dylan, Supertramp, but I got him into Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Led Zeppelin and Enid Blyton, (ha ha ha).
Can't believe you haven't seen them in a live performance yet. The Pulse concert (even without Roger Waters' contribution) is the best concert experience you may ever see; considering the combination of unsurpassed song writing, technical musicianship & visual effects. I echo Jason Sprecher's suggestions of "Comfortably Numb" and "Sorrow" as a great sampling from the historic 1994 show.
There are two great live concerts available on YT in HD. "Delicate Sound of Thunder" from 1988, and "Pulse" from 1994. Both are worth a watch, perhaps on the movie reaction channel without skipping parts.
One biggest band ofalltime, in my humble opinion. Again thanks for your reaction of this song.
Pink Floyd "One Slip" (studio version) 💜
Many of Pink Floyd's songs are melancholy and a bit on the sad side....but this. This is full of hope for better things to come. "There's no sensation to compare with this....suspended animation in a state of bliss." One of the best lines ever written.
Definitely an aviation theme. The part with the eagle was the metaphor for man taking flight. This was after Roger Waters, so it kinda shows that David Gilmore was a creative driving force all along. And even if you heard this without any prior knowledge, you’d still know it was Pink Floyd when he started riffing and soloing that guitar. There’s just nothing else like it.
David Gilmore is a pilot himself and this one was written based on his personal experience in that regard - I too am a pilot with 8,200+ hours logged over 17+ years so this is one of my personal favorites from PF, especially the breakdown segment which includes the spoken word running through a pre-takeoff Checklist...LOVE IT!!!
There's no sensation to compare with this ! Enough said in one line 👍❤🏴
saw Pink Floyd Delicate Sound of Thunder concert Pontiac stadium sat main floor in back next to computer banks. watched laser show on the PC's then looked up to see it live, OMG. BEST CONCERT of the 30 I've seen.
Suggestion for a double reaction.
High Hopes by Pink Floyd, followed by the cover/tribute by Nightwish.
That would be cool.
@@itsmedino Hey Dino.
Another great song off the same album that gave you this song is "On the Turning Away". It has a very hopeful and empathetic message to it, and I think you'll both love it! ruclips.net/video/mE9rkOZetCw/видео.html
I've listened to this song countless times, and I've never seen the video! Great reaction.!
Probably my favorite Pink Floyd song.
When are going to react to Mother?
Comfortably numb ...pulse
I shared a room with my daughter for a while and we used to listen to Pink Floyd at bedtime. I used to listen to this album on cassette on my Walkman back in the day, walking around, to, and from campus in college. Their music just envelopes your whole mind. Love it. (For that reason, I also don’t recommend driving while listening to it.)
Pink Floyd is one of the best rock bands of all time, and they are definitely the best alive rock band of all time. Amber I really believe you will enjoy Pink Floyd the pulse concert and Especially the version of The song High Hopes!! Absolutely unbelievable performance
The "Pulse" version, definitely. The only issue some might have with that is that there are a lot of flashing lights near the end that could bother some people who are sensitive to light flashes.
Ever since I was a kid, I've loved Pink Floyd. Their music isn't just audible but visual. The videos they produced for their tracks were spectacular, but the great thing about Floyd was listening, closing your eyes and letting your mind take you on a journey with the music being your guide. People talk about the Beatles and all the other nonsense we've produced, but for me Pink Floyd is the greatest British music out there and will always be out there for the world to hear.👌👍🇬🇧
Back when I had only been smoking the good smoke for 2 or 3 years I had moved to Oklahoma with some friends out in the middle of nowhere, (Olustee, next to Altus, near the air force base there..) and the Pink Floyd album Animals, and a lot of weed is what got me through being homesick. Until even that didn't work and I ultimately came back home to Massachusetts. Still smoking the good smoke though, obviously... And Still Loving pink floyd, always!!!! 🔥✌♥️☮🎵🥰
High Hopes from the Pulse concert. Legendary.
We saw Floyd in Tampa, 96? 97? Amazing! They'd always been known for great stage shows, but when that guy on the bed came flying from the back row...
