@@MicheleCampbell-ge6zf Totally agreed. While DSOTM could be listened to as individual tracks, it is an album better experienced all at once in track order.
Pink Floyd - Comfortably numb is a favorite of mine. It's about Roger Waters having to be medicated by a doctor to make through a performance that he recalls as the "longest two hours of my life". Sometimes strange inspiration leads to amazing songs. Over 275M listens on RUclips.
The absolute Pink Floyd song you must do and many here will agree is "Comfortably Numb" Live from the PULSE CONCERT. Iconic pertformance and many would say the best live 5 minute guitar solo you will ever hear.
I grew up a hip hop head and loving old soul and R&B but learned to appreciate classic rock in my twenties. Love Pink Floyd, never heard this song, immediately thought it had to be from the 80s. I would recommend "Dogs" and "Pigs(Three Different Ones)" from Animals album; "Time" and "Money" from Dark Side of the Moon; "Hey You" and "Comfortably Numb" on The Wall.
You need to hear ALL of Pink Floyd starting with Dark Side of the Moon album. I's start at the beginning of the album and go thru it in order. The songs all flow into the next and it's the best way to listen to it. Saw them in concert twice and was the best concert I've ever been to.
I love this era of music, reminds me so much of my childhood, my dad and older brother would jam all the time, playing a lot of riffs from these songs.
Yes to more Pink Floyd! Dark Side of the Moon is a must, but all the songs are connected, so it would be ideal to do them together. Either way,, it is a must listen for them. It spent a record number of weeks on the charts, which I believe still holds true.
The Darkside of the Moon album is highly recommended. Comfortably Numb from the 94' Pulse concert should absolutely be on your list. You might not stop listening to them after that. So much talent
Yes! More Pink Floyd! Wish You were here, Dark Side of the Moon, Comfortably Numb, oh my, all of them! Lol Their earlier stuff was better than the eighties stuff but they were still good.
@@cobrakari it's so sad that they had such a huge falling out. Can you imagine all of the wonder music we all missed out on because they couldn't get over whatever their beef with each other is/ was?
Roger may have written most of the lyrics in the seventies, but David is responsible for most of the guitar parts. When The Wall was being recorded, Roger went on an ego maniac control trip. He even went as far as firing Rick Wright. Roger maintained that control over the band through the recording of The Final Cut album. The original version of the final cut credited the album to Roger performed by Pink Floyd.
ABSOLUTE MUST! Comfortably Numb ( LIVE AT PULSE CONCERT )!!!! 🐖! But My favorite Album is Animals…Dogs & Sheep are also a 🐑 must listen too…really it needs to be done as an album but a lot of reactors don’t do it so…idk if you will! Pink Floyd will forever be my Favorite Band! ✌🏻☀️
This song is about David Gilmour the Lead Guitarist and Vocalist experience while he was taking flight lessons.. Its also about "Freedom"... but if you look into what his first wife (they were still married at this point in time) was into and Listen to her ideas (some vids on YT), you can easily attach the meanings of this song to also include Astral Projection.. the lyrics fit. and probably why we have the presence of Native Americans in the video.. Simply Speaking if you don't know Pink Floyd's Catalogue then you are missing out on the top tier of musical experiences.. These guys didn't have openers at concerts cause they knew their message could get muddied by other songs/musicians etc.. Also, there are too many songs to list to listen to next.. You gotta dive in where you fit in .. so pick something and we that know will be here for it.. Pink Floyd has reserved a special place in many viewers hearts and minds.. The newer stuff.. post 1983ish .. After Roger Waters Left the band.. (all these guys were childhood friends) and so the band took a different direction.. the songs are more hopeful and serene but they played all the older stuff at their concerts till the end. They are mostly known for the DSOTM (1973), Wish you were here (1975) and The Wall (1979 and the movie came out around 1981ish) HOWEVER.. the later songs (the Division Bell 1994) are some of my favorite as they have a humanity that speaks to me.. Best of the Best of these albums is the Pulse concert, even without Roger Waters... They had perfected the performances and songs.. Even on Comfortably Numb, Gilmours guitar solo seems to bring us back from that depressive state by letting his guitar speak to our souls.. You have a long way to go my friend, but its worth it..
What do you need to check out from Pink Floyd? I would start with the Dark Side of the Moon album. Ideally, I would recommend doing the whole album in one shot as it is a concept album where one song often rolls right into the next, but if that is too big an ask just start with the first track and do them one at a time. Dark Side of the Moon isn’t just an album, it’s an experience. Real talk! It was released 1973 and stayed in the charts until 1988 if I am not mistaken.
The "Pulse" concert has some of their best quality live videos. I believe most fans would agree, Pink Floyd songs are a glimpse into the album. The album from start to finish will tell a story. I suggest you take the time to examine their albums on or off the channel. If on the channel, I will watch.
I would suggest as others have, that you check out their 1994 Pulse concert, But I would also like to suggest that when listening to all Pink Floyd, that you do so with headphones or ear buds, you will enjoy it much more in doing so. God Bless
I'm a P.F. alumni of 50 years myself. Their music turns their lyrics into a conceptual idea, and throughout the years there is always something new to discover. David Gilmour's 🎸 playing is mesmerizing. I hope that you continue down this road with their music many times over. Shine on.
Pink Floyd is a deep rabbit hole to go down, Just about anything off of Dark Side of the Moon (Money, Time, Great Gig in the Sky, Plus more). Next could be some great bars from Wish You Were Here, One of the best guitar solos from the Album, The Wall- Comfortably Numb. Just to scratch the surface.
What you gotta know about pink floyd. This came out in 87. Pink fliyd came out as college students in the mid 60s and were really avant garde/trippy. Back then on thier 1st record the guitar and singer was Syd Barrett. He blew his mind on LSD, Dave Gilmour stepped in for the second album and they had huge success in the 70s. Roger the bass player was the primary lyricist up through the wall and final cut. Roger left the band, they had an epic beef. This is the later era of floyd, where Dave took over on vocals. You gotta hear the datk side of the moon album. Particularly money and time, wish you were here, th animals record w pigs and dogs. Then gi back and it the early stuff like intetstellar overdrive, arnold layne and see emily play. The middle period w roger is by far their most popular era. Literally anything from the 70s is pure golden fire
Momentary Lapse of Reason is full of great tracks, and this is perhaps foremost amongst them. I wasn't aware of music until around the mid-80s, so this was "the beginning" of Pink Floyd for me. In the same way Metallica's black album was their intro album for me, and only later I discovered their earlier work. That's the thing about a musical journey; you sort of emerge midstream, somewhere in the flow, and only later discover the source of the river.
Floyd are incredible! Check out "comfortably numb live pulse concert" it will blow you away. They have loads of fantastic music. Knox Hill done *time" and he loved it.
It's a long story but in short 98% of lyrics of Pink Floyd's songs released before this album were written by Roger Water's who left the group thinking that with out him Pink Floyd did not exist but 3 remaining members released this album , i think around 1986 , they (3 members) won the court battle to continue using the name .
I am totally here for Pink Floydd BP!! I grew up vibing to it on all my car journeys with my dad. And it is very special to me. He was a huge fan and so I followed I still wear his old pink floydd shirts even though they drown me lmao and honestly Pink Floyd's sound is just something else 🔥🔥🖤
David Gilmour(Lead guitarist and now lead singer) and Nick Mason(drummer) both owned airplanes and are pilots. They even went as far as owning an aviation Company. This album was released in 1988.
You need to check out ALL Pink Floyd! This song is my favorite of theirs because I relate so much to the lyrics, but everything they've done is amazing! As others have said, Comfortably Numb is a must for anyone ever checking out Floyd, and the Pulse concert video has what is often considered the greatest guitar solo of all time.
I still have this on cassette from 1987 when I think it came out. The first cassette melted in the Australian summer in my car so I had to get another one. Now have it on cd, brilliant album, Momentary lapse of Reason. My favourite song is One Slip!
Yes to more pink floyd! Everything is awesome. High hopes it a good one, anything from dark side of the moon album and their animal album is so good but you got to do it back to back whole album to get it so good though..
Pink Floyd should be right up your alley, if you want to trip on the meaning of their music. The entire "The Wall" Album should be listened always in full in my opinion, it is a master work.
If you wanna get your mind blown again, listen to Pink Floyd "High Hopes" then listen to Nightwish tribute to High Hopes - there are no words. Really enjoy your journey. Alot of us grew up with the music you are discovering. You think you have a smile on your face, you should see the smile or our faces. Welcome to the rock n roll club man.
Comfortably numb at the pulse concert. Also Sorrow from the pulse concert. I would love to see you react to a lyrics video their song Time from Dark side of the moon also :)
Wish you were here! Grew up with my parents listening to Pink Floyd then as a teenager I started stealing their tapes (ha yeah I’m that old too) and got right into them, incredible band!
My first introduction to Pink Floyd was at the Planetarium at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. They had a laser light show to their album Dark Side of the Moon. Oh and it was the original showing, not the 50 year celebration. 😅
Go right back to the early days and work your way through the albums. Pink Floyd is just another level of deep meaningful music. For live performances the Pulse concert is the best.
Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb live Pulse concert. It WILL blow you away. He has 2 guitar solos. The second one lasting several minutes and will take you to another world. Please check it out. The stage performance will mesmerize you. I promise.
The best prog rock concert ever, pulse London Earls court London 1994, try Comfortably numb considered by many as the best guitar solo of all time, add to that pink floyd are the masters of light shows. PS, never interrupt a Dave Gilmour solo.
"Wish you were Here" would be a good next one. I don't remember ever seeing that MV but I do know the song, which is interesting. Thanks as always for the reaction.
As many have said listen to their album, Dark Side Of The Moon in it's entirety. Probably one of the best albums ever recorded! It has continued to sporadically appear on the Billboard 200 since then, with the total at 990 weeks on the chart as of May 2024. It was originally released on March 1, 1973 in the USA and they just released a 50th Anniversary addition. They estimate that 1 of every 14 people in the US under the age of 50 owns or has owned a copy of that album. Ev ery track on it is fantastic but it was designed to be listened to in one sitting from beginning to end!
Pink floyd comfortably numb. Pulse live 1994.
Nothing more needs to be said 🤘🏻
The Solo❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥

My two all time favorites!
Now you need to watch Comfortably Numb at the 1994 Pulse Concert, one of the best guitar solos.....ever😁
true....
Any song off the Dark Side of the Moon is a must. The album holds the record for charting the most weeks on the Billboard 200 at 917 weeks.
DSOTM is a must. Entire album!
@@MicheleCampbell-ge6zf

While DSOTM could be listened to as individual tracks, it is an album better experienced all at once in track order.
Better yet, listen to the whole album in one go.....definitely my preferred way of listening to DSoTM...
Dark side of the moon. The entire album run in one take. One of the greatest albums ever.
"Learning to Fly" would lead me into many years as a teen stoned and amazed and forever a Pink Floyd carnoisseur.
..."Pulse." "Wish You Were Here."
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond"
Pink Floyd is an experience like none other. Wish you were here is a killer lp.Time and money are real bangers❤
"Run Like Hell" one of my favorite Pink Floyd's. Can't go wrong with numerous others.

An incredible Pink Floyd performance is Live Pompeii 1972. It's just them, their instruments, and the empty ruins.
Pink Floyd is a Experience, we used to lay in a dark room with smoke😊and headphones to listen.
Yup😂❤Joint up😂

Yes! More Pink Floyd! Wish You were here, Dark Side of the Moon, Comfortably Numb, oh my, all of them! Lol Their earlier stuff was better than the eighties stuff but they were still good.
Agreed. I’m personally a Rodger Waters fan. But I’ll leave the fight to Rodger and David.
